Whenever they damn well feel like it was the impression I got from their last presser....hopefully after this so it can be even MORE stark just how shitty they are if they decide to keep Meyer.

Not to veer, but is it me or is OSU magically blessed or something that every time poop is about to fly their way, an NC coach or a bigger scandal is there to save them from it? Either way, love it if Maryland does this as it should set a contrast upon which OSU's obvious retainer of Meyer will look for what it is - another school that cares more about winning than anything else.

Absolutely - not.
OSU is always a much bigger story and they are well aware of it. Maryland cleaning house just makes it harder for OSU not to do the same. I think having a second scandal in the division may even put more attention on OSU.

Chick Hernandez is a local DC media guy (assuming it's the same one, it looks like it). I'd say it's a credible source, with the usual caveats that in a fluid situation credible reporters have been wrong in the past.

Maryland doesn't quite have the intense football culture of OSU and this is immeasurably worse since a young man died.

Why is Durkin getting screwed? One of his players died while he was the head coach. Maby D.J. wasn't present at the practice, but don't you think he needs to leave his players with common sense coaches, instead of a bunch of idiots who can't tell when a kid can't give anymore?

I still can't believe with the Korey Stringer death that took place years ago on the practice field, that people haven't figured out the warning signs yet. I'm not sure if the president and AD need to go, but for sure Durkin.

I applaud it IF it is the right conclusion based upon evidence.
That being said, I do feel bad for the team. It's almost going to be like a rebuild for them, short of hiring somebody who was on the same wavelength as Durkin (in the right ways).

A player died - due to a football practice and lack of medical care.
I don't care if the president gets fired, but if Maryland BoD wants to set an example for the CFB landscape, my suggestion is to
cancel the football season in its entirety.
throw that hammer down.
