Tigers vs Athletics Open Thread

Hopefully being at home will give the offense a spark that they definitely need. Sanchez is on the hill, Peralta in LF, Im liking our chances here.

What a ridiculous start time.  Anybody know of a good stream? I already looked at first row sports and saw nothing.

It's called pressure.  Some players (like Verlander) absolutely thrive on it.  Some players (like the guy giving up all the homers for the first time all year) fold up and die.

Oh well.

But that's the problem with the playoffs.  It is a small sample size and always will be given the small number of games played.  So while he might've been "money" last year he certainly wasnt today when the Tigers needed him the most.

But I'm sure Peyton Manning would agree with you.  The greatest regular season QB in league history has a somewhat checkered record in the playoffs and for some reason people (and not just me) only know him for those shortcomings when it matters most.

Alvarez, why not Porcello? I have no confidence in any reliever in the bull pen outside of Smyly, Veras and Rondon.

Do you have to say anything when you're on the mound?  Just throw the ball.  If you get jacked after a big out that's fine, but it's every damn pitch with him.  I'm surprised he doesn't get into stuff more often.

Of course I saw him pitch this year in a game where I was a neutral observer and  don't remember having any negative impression of him.  So yes I'm bitter.
