Because ND is pretty much irrelevant to most people nowadays.

Damn...Kelly is utterly predictable at this point. Gets close to the redzone and goes run game all of a sudden, god forbid a short pass here or there.

Yes. Thats the only play I can think of but literally any DE who was standing there had a good chance at it.

It's safe to say Mattison and Narduzzi are in Kelly's head. He 2nd guesses himself so much against MSU/UM.

is absolutely delightful

Staee receivers will probably catch everything Nov 2nd. Thats what is most upsetting about how terrible they are
September 21st, 2013 at 4:27 PM ^
Hey, it's possible to check into a different defense when the offense audible
September 21st, 2013 at 4:27 PM ^
As bad as MSU's offense has been this season, they have not trailed in a game yet. Let's see how they do when trying to come back from a deficit. If ND can get a double digit lead, MSU could be in some real trouble.
Then again, it is a rivarly game.

Who refs ND's home games?
September 21st, 2013 at 4:29 PM ^
After one, SD State leads Nebraska 17-14. The last few days haven't been good for a certain Mr. Pelini.

MSU committed a personal foul? I, for one, am shocked.

LOL 60 minues of unnecessary roughness

I've always thought personal fouls should be like technical fouls in basketball, or yellow cards in soccer. If you get one, that's your warning, and a second should be an ejection. Accummulating them in back-to-back games should bring punishment as well. There needs to be more teeth behind it than just the 15 yards.

plus that comes in handy on those plays where two personal fouls cancel each other out
September 21st, 2013 at 4:36 PM ^
I think that is a terrible idea. The 15 yards and automatic first down is enough.
Maybe your idea works for unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.
September 21st, 2013 at 4:43 PM ^
So, you think a guy who celebrates too much in the endzone should be at risk of ejection/suspension, but not a guy who commits a cheap shot with intent to injure?
September 21st, 2013 at 4:43 PM ^
NCAA will suspend players after reviewing tape.
September 21st, 2013 at 4:57 PM ^
That's not much of a threat. Few players have ever been suspended based on the videotape. Two years ago, the Big Ten dragged its feet on punishing Will Gholston until the media outcry forced them to.
But if you make it automatic that anyone who gets two personal fouls, or a guy who gets one in back-to-back games, is ejected, then you put the fear of ejection in the back of any player's mind immediately when he gets one PF flag. Then he knows he's got to clean his act up the rest of the game, because the same official who flagged him once might do it again.
September 21st, 2013 at 4:49 PM ^
I like the idea. Particularly maybe having an elevated level of a penalty for some more egregious penalties, kinda like a yellow v. a red?
September 21st, 2013 at 4:34 PM ^
Gosh every pass play is 20+ yards
September 21st, 2013 at 4:35 PM ^
I think.
September 21st, 2013 at 4:35 PM ^
that MSU's rationale is to foul on every play with the knowledge that the refs can't flag every play. . . .

against us. Otherwise, we would have lost, because our DBs were not playing remotely tight coverage or breaking up any passes.
