Kudos to the Washington State flag guys. But there shouldn't be three times as many WSC flags as Michigan flags AT GAME DAY IN ANN ARBOR.

FALSE ALARM...but it's coming, people, beware.
EDIT: This Tulane piece is acutally a good one, and touching; very sad. I was referring to a Michigan-ND matchup cheese-fest segment.

A: What do you expect? All of Ingall's Mall and the Diag to be full of people?
B: I was there for a bit and saw a lot of people pulling up just before 10. Some people aren't aware that it starts at 9am.
C: Watching it on TV now, it was much bigger and louder in person.

In that case he has a leg up on Harmon, who never beat Minnesota in his career.
1938: Minnesota 7, Michigan 6
1939: Minnesota 20, Michigan 7
1940: Minnesota 7, Michigan 6

I love Devin Gardner. 98 he is not. Then again, they're numbers on a shirt, who gives a sh*t I guess.
September 7th, 2013 at 10:43 AM ^
I guess no one else here grew up hearing stories about Tom Harmon from their grandfather, so whatever. Rawk music, matte helmetz, bumblebee uniforms, wooo.
September 7th, 2013 at 10:38 AM ^
While I'm not really upset by it, I agree with you that it makes no sense to give Gardner 98 given his experience to this point.
September 7th, 2013 at 10:40 AM ^
why? Jake ryan got 47 as a So. Funchess as a So. what's the difference?
September 7th, 2013 at 10:43 AM ^
I think that if we're going to do this whole legends thing, people should actually have to earn it. Otherwise, it just seems meaningless.
September 7th, 2013 at 10:57 AM ^
I think Hoke would say that they have earned it.
crist, people. you're putting these numbers on such a high pedestal that no one would be worthy until they won the heisman. Now, maybe that's justified- but if so just say that you don't want ANYONE to have 98. don't bitch about DG getting it as a SR JR.
and I think Hoke would say that they have earned it. it's pretty clear that the criteria isn't completely starting experience, importance to the team, number of all conference seasons, etc. it has a lot more to do with character and demonstrated committment to the team. Now under this criteria, please name one player on the team who deserves 98 more than DG.

September 7th, 2013 at 11:04 AM ^
So now we're handing out legends jerseys to anyone to has great character and demonstrates strong committment to the team? That's fine, I guess, but it's not crazy for people to think that they shouldn't be given out to players who have only started 7 games.
September 7th, 2013 at 11:21 AM ^
so what the minimum number of acceptable games to earn the legends jersey? 9? 11? 14?
he's the starting QB forcrissakes, and will be for the next 25 games barring injury. name someone else who deserves it more.

Of course, the Legends jerseys are dumb anyway. Still irritated that they changed the numbers on Kovacs, Funchess, and Ryan.
September 7th, 2013 at 10:30 AM ^
Why do we keep changing everyone's number for their final year only to change someone else's number the following. This is stupid. Give it to a freshman

Oblig Brandon sucks.
September 7th, 2013 at 11:11 AM ^
12 - one season + one game
98 - one season + twelve games
12 will be his least worn number
I'm in the give the numbers to rising sophs camp but the worst is the one & done new number thing like Hemingway, round tree and gallon.
