OT: Red Wings @ Blackhawks Game 7 Open Thread

Submitted by goblueram on

The top-seeded Blackhawks have battled back from a 3-1 series defecit to force a decisive game 7 in Chicago.  This has been a great back-and-forth series, and is a fitting way to end the in-conference rivalry between these two great Original Six franchises.

Zetterberg and Datsyuk have come up huge when it has mattered most for the Wings, both this season and in years past.  Jimmy has been phenomenal in net this year, and he may have what it takes to steal this game in Quick-like fashion.  Toews seems to have found his game a little bit in the last few games (when he is not whining), and Crawford has been solid in net despite 1 bad goal.  This should be a nerve-racking affair.

I'm heading off to the United Center shortly, and I'm hoping it will get quiet in there real quickly.

 LET'S GO RED WINGS

What a difference a series makes. After the Anaheim series, Abdelkader was seen as a legit top-liner guy, whereas in this series he's basically been a cheap goon

We need to get through this period tied or only down one, if we go into the 3rd down by 2+ goals it wont be pretty.  GO WINGS

our guys need to start developing pressure in their zone and smashing some bodies! I've seen so many chances for big open ice hits and we won't take them

We're on the verge of a goal...unfortunately that feeling is often the result of a goalie playing out of his mind.

too bad the period ended ...started to play with a little more edge toward the end of that period.  Let's return the favor Chicago gave us in the third period last

No momentum, no possession, no finishing, Brendan Smith being Brendan, and Z, Pav, Franzen, and Filppula still haven't shown up... Not looking favorable for pulling out a win.
