OT: Red Wings @ Blackhawks Game 7 Open Thread

Submitted by goblueram on

The top-seeded Blackhawks have battled back from a 3-1 series defecit to force a decisive game 7 in Chicago.  This has been a great back-and-forth series, and is a fitting way to end the in-conference rivalry between these two great Original Six franchises.

Zetterberg and Datsyuk have come up huge when it has mattered most for the Wings, both this season and in years past.  Jimmy has been phenomenal in net this year, and he may have what it takes to steal this game in Quick-like fashion.  Toews seems to have found his game a little bit in the last few games (when he is not whining), and Crawford has been solid in net despite 1 bad goal.  This should be a nerve-racking affair.

I'm heading off to the United Center shortly, and I'm hoping it will get quiet in there real quickly.

I feel like I'm being so greedy.  Here we were, about to miss the playoffs for the first time in 21 years (my entire life!) and I'm mad because our conference semifinal series is in game 7 with the top-seeded blackhawks.

I'm hoping that CBC saying that whoever scores first in games seven has won the past like 27 games was a jinx just like they jinxed us going into game 5 with the game 4 shutout stat

season. Need to come out in this 3rd period guns firing. Take any shot you can at Crawford. Pepper him! Doesn't matter if its high or low

we are not playing well enough to win outright but we are not necessarily playing bad enough to guarantee defeat.  Play hard to the puck, earn a bounce or two, and we got it.

Win or lose this game, the wings have had an incredible year. Pulling together down the stretch to make the playoffs, beating the 2 seed, and taking the 1 seed to 7 games. All of this in a "rebuilding year" Go Wings!
