Michigan Softball vs. Cal Open Thread
The game just started. It is 0-0 in the top of the first. Michigan has somebody on first.
If your phone supports flash, you can follow the game on gametracker. http://www.mgoblue.com/gametracker/launch/gt_wsoftbl.html?event=1255750…;
That is extemely annoying. Whats the deal?
GREAT WIN! Wish I was in AA for the supers.
She definitely did. If she didn't she would have tagged first base.
But holy crap this male announcer has no idea what he is talking about
I have noticed that as well. I believe if Michigan wins, Michigan hosts.
no kidding. He was unbearable during yesterday's game against Cal. He kept saying the Michigan valpo game was a close game.... This guy is a few bricks short of a full load.
Romero hits a two run RBI in the top of the third. It is the middle now, 2-0 UM
Solo HR by Cal. 2-1
Yes, but she her knee is hurting her.
and not having muh fun. I spoke with her briefly after the game as we waited for the players to come out. She said her knee was killing her and she was about to pull herself out. If Cal won the first game, she would not have played in the second.
I felt bad for her because she played very well today but not good enough. She was hobbling toward Schembechler Hall with her dad. A good game by both teams.
I only ask that the best team wins. I think this happened today.
Called third strike looked just like ball 3!
Agreed!
"Thrown out trying to make a double out of a triple"
Wow.
Ya, I think if you try to make a double out of a triple you deserve to be thrown out.
This guy is a clown
Somewhere Vin Scully is sobbing.
If we made a drinking game out of this guy's screw-ups, we'd be hammered by the 3rd inning.
Hang on to your asses, boys. We're going for a ride.
The initial gasp from the crowd made me think it was gone
Holy shit, that was too close.
Michigan advances.
Umps gave Cal two free base runners in that inning (missed third strike that turned into a walk two pitches later and an incorrect ruling on a collision on the base paths), and we still get out of it unscathed! That last out scared me, but thankfully we tracked it down on the warning track. Huge win, now let's root for the Ragin' Cajuns to down LSU!
ULL is up 1-0, LSU batting in the top of the 6th, 1 out none on.
I am not sure that ULL is preferable to LSU. I have seen LSU play a couple times on TV and they are struggling right now. Fico's control in not what it was last year. ULL meanwhile is scalding hot and Wallace has not allowed a run in their regional. Through 19 innings that is.
That is a fair point, but I'm not too worried about ULL. We've already beaten them once this season (3-1 on February 22nd) and looking at their schedule, they don't really have a lot of terribly impressive Ws in there. A hot pitcher is always scary this time of year, but in a three-game set, I like our chances. That said, I also like our chances against LSU also - we'll see how it plays out.
I think we beat ULL too. However, I still think they will be tougher than LSU would've been. There are no more easy ones when you reach this point.
