More evidence that Dantonio can't control his players (classless Twitter war commence)

Sorry to thrust this upon you on a day when we should be relaxing.

It's okay. Most of us MSU fans understand that you hate the current state of the world. MSU should not even be on your radar. You have to think that the players, coaches, and fans are classless. And yet, in the Wall Street Journal graphic ranking progams along two dimensions -- on field and off field -- MSU was right there with UM. And, to the credit of both, almost no one else ahead in both.
I know it's hard to accept. And, yes, there are a bunch of MSU fans who are jerks. That comes with the territory.

Only a Sparty slappy could lecture another school about losing with class without a hint of irony.
Hope that burning couch didn't singe your eyebrows.

chose not to play in a game of that magnitude. Alabama and Jerry Jones were probably pretty upset that MSU turned them down and went after us just to piss people off.
I guess MSU probably chose not to play the BCS last year as well, right?
At least MSU got to throw it's national relevance/clout around when the Big Ten got split in to divisions. Who wouldn't want IU to be their protected rival.

Please explain this relationship between Andrew Maxwell and the concept of "promise".
September 3rd, 2012 at 10:16 PM ^
He was totally lost. Do you think he's turned into a pretty good player?
Because it's MSU you are writing off Maxwell after one game against a ranked team? You act like MSU played Eastern. Maxwell had essentially all new receivers (except for Sims, who has played very little for two years). The fact is we don't know how good Maxwell might be in a few games. He has to improve. I guess we'll see.
September 3rd, 2012 at 10:52 PM ^
I guess we watched a different game. Also, didn't this young man have a year to prepare under the watchful eye of erstwhile Redskins starter Kirk Cousins?
You would think that with your running back more or less occupying the front 7 and by the third quarter compelling a safety to cheat that Maxwell would have looked better. Much better.
He looked like a deer in the headlights on Friday night. What happens agains experienced defenses who take Bell away? Don't delude yourself that teams can't put it on Maxwell's arm based on scheme...(Denard learned about this somewhat from Kirby Smart over the weekend).
Cue gratuitous Maxwell image:

Dantonio will probably join in the fun at his next press conference. Why would he try to control something he probably encourages?

He's just pissed that Michigan never offered him.
September 3rd, 2012 at 10:55 PM ^
My Sparty colleagues refer to him as Nick "Spartan Recruiting Victory" Hill...
Annoying, I can tell you. I am aware Rivals shows no offer.
Did he, at some point, claim a Michigan offer or are my Sparty associates, like most, somewhat delusional?
September 4th, 2012 at 12:52 AM ^
He never had a comittable offer. At the time Michigan had a number of backs ahead of him (Brennan Clay, Austin White, etc). Michigan knew he'd accept an offer on the spot, so they were slow playing him until they knew what the others above him were doing (assuming they would have ever offered). He only had MAC offers going into the summer of his senior year, when MSU offered, he accepted shortly after.

And losing by a similar amount to Mississippi State is much, much, much worse. Or did you all block that out from your collective memory? Did it not count because you were "down"?

September 3rd, 2012 at 11:09 AM ^
You really think your "BCS" bowl bid is going to be "forever"? Do people still talk about the third place finisher in the Big Ten from even two years ago, let alone from the beginning of the conference?
That's so delusional, I can't help but laugh. We got "passed over" because the Championship Game loss put us at three losses, not because we're irrelevant. You got in because money drives the system, and the product was so lackluster and embarrassing that it scrapped the entire system. I'm glad mighty Michigan has been reduced to celebrating third place behind its Little Brother, while Lil Bro plays for Rose Bowls.

Hoke is letting a felon take the field against Air Force this weekend, and you're still talking about a dorm fight from 2009? I don't know how, but in your world, college kids getting in a fight in a dorm (and getting suspended / kicked off the team by Dantonio) is somehow worse than breaking and entering. This is not even including the fact that Rather Hall happened over three seasons ago, and Hoke's boys are running wild in the present.

September 3rd, 2012 at 10:39 AM ^
Dantonio lets his players tweet after four straight victories, and Hoke lets his players commit felonies (eight arrests since taking the helm to Dantonio's 0). Breaking and entering is just kids being kids, but trash talk is reprehensible and proof that Dantonio is evil.

You just got worked over by a defense full of new starters. Talented new starters, but new starters nonetheless. What happens when you come up against a seasoned defense with a chip on its shoulder?
Don't worry, we won't be the ones hiding. But I'd be getting a little worried about your team's safety right about now if I were you.
September 3rd, 2012 at 11:41 AM ^
Step off lil bro.
September 3rd, 2012 at 7:30 PM ^
Fortunately, the 2010 MSU team and the 2010 Alabama team are not the 2012 MSU team and 2012 Alabama team. That's like me bringing up that MSU waxed Alabama some time in the 60s to prove a point about 2012. You Wolverines seriously have no concept of the progression of linear time, do you?
The Capital One Bowl was two seasons ago (and also came on the same date you were beat down by perennial powerhouse Mississippi State). What bearing does that have on this year's teams?

congrats on beating boise's jv team, i meany barely beat them. I cannot wait till we smack you trash talking pieces of shit back to Ingham county prison.

Our players and former players do the same thing. Desmond, Mike Hart, Anthony Wright, even Devin Gardner is known to take a shot every once in a while.
September 3rd, 2012 at 11:04 AM ^
It's just that when MSU players do it, the Detroit media feels the need to turn it into a news story.
September 3rd, 2012 at 11:08 AM ^
Because while both fanbases will have reactions similiar to this thread, there's more UM fans to click and be outraged about it. Mo clicks mo money

No fans at MSU approves of bit players running their mouths (Safety Kyle Artinian?--I haven't even heard of him). We all know the Freep goes out of their way to stir up trouble, and the fact that out of 85 scholarship players only a very few were knuckleheads speaks to that. One has to wonder how many man hours the Freep's crack team of investigative reporters were devoted to monitoring the Tweets of every MSU player, and this is worst of it? Please. Don't worry about Dantonia controlling these guys. Team leadership will apply an appropriate beatdown.
PS. Sorry about Countess. No one likes to see a young man hurt. I think if you were to view any MSU site, this is the sentiment expressed. Hopefully, Lewan is all right, too. Good luck against Army.

1. Who cares what they have to say
2. What do you expect?
It's best to not give them any attention IMO

Who cares about state. They don't deserve to lick the mud off my shoes.
We have bigger and better things to be worrying about.
