Predict where Michigan is ranked on the preseason AP and USA Today Coaches Poll
Anywhere from 7-10 for AP and Anywhere from 10-15 for coaches. AP will want yoou ranked high for the Bama game.
AP - Leaders.
Coaches - Best.
But actually I'd go with 8/10

Is there a reason (other than the final 1997 vote) that almost everyone expects us to be lower in the coaches' poll than in the AP?

Maybe they have no interest in hyping up our game with Alabama whereas the AP may, plus perhaps name recognition means less to them... Purely guesses.
Yep. The AP poll has a built in bias to make sure two highly ranked teams are playing in Dallas. That equals more fan interest and more hits, clicks, listeners, viewers, etc.

I know preseason polls are arbitrary but I'm just glad to be ranked. The last time we were ranked in a preseason poll was #24 in 2008 Coaches.
