I consider myself informed by the OP content.
You should clarify that this is Zack Novak kicking a 56 yard field goal, and not San Diego Chargers kicker Nick Novak (for whom it would not be nearly as impressive).
Random question: seeing as it just got over, it made me wonder: what happens if someone sits back and just goal tends that? Is there a rule against that?
When we needed him. Now that he has no more eligbility he shows his talents.
He still has a year left for football. Right Zack?
a gamer.
What does that mean?
I figured it was Novak Djokovic hitting an ace from 56 yards away.
A a graduating senior and grit-meister supreme on one of the most successful M Bball teams in decades, does Novak get free reign around campus?
"So.. I think I'd like to go kick field goals at the big house today." "Ok."
"I think I'd like to direct the next MMB practice." "Ok."
"I think I want to go to Blimpie... and I want them to be nice to me." "No problem."
but, for the most part, they're nice at blimpie these days.
Sometimes I wonder whether Blimpy Burger takes a page out of Dick's Last Resort (the establishment where they intentionally insult you).
Did he do that in basketball shoes too? Hard to tell, but I've never seen high top soccer shoes before. Unbelieveable either way.
he doesn't have football eligibility left? How cool would it be for Novak to become the long kicker next season!
Well he could transfer to another school and be a kicker, but unfortunately he can't play for Michigan. ex Paulus, Duke BB to Syracuse FB
I'm pretty sure all athletes, in D1, have five years to play no more than four years of one sport regardless of school. So, theorhetically, he could play football or soccer or ice hockey or whatever for the upcoming year at Michigan.
Paulus didn't transfer to play football at another school because he couldn't play at Duke. He transferred because not doing it would have meant playing football for Duke.
Based on that video, I'd say he has a better shot to make the NFL as a kicker than the NBA! That's a serious kick.
People ignore the fact that Novak is not only an excellent athlete (e.g.,dunk contest) but also highly skilled (the 3 point shooting % and this FG video.)
IMO, Jordan Morgan, a guy with far less skill and athleticism, is the UMBB grit-champion.
Was Morgan ever bloodied? Did he get on the floor as much as Novak? Also, he wasn't as undersized as Novak for the position he played. So Novak was far more gritty. Next year? We'll see.
What's with the Jayhawks basketball shirt? smh. Nice kick, though.
Over that shirt. srsly.
Is he getting looked at for a spot with a D-League team? That'd be cool for him to get the chance.
Zack has always been a long range specialist - I'd love to see him on the football field this fall - draining some more threes!!!
I'll say it: it was a wobbly, line drive kick, probably the only kick he made of many attempts, and he had no helmet/pads.
Seriously, though, kid's an athlete and one of my favorite all-time M students.
If you don't believe me take a tee (yes I said tee) go out to your local high school or whatever football field and try it. I like to call myself an athlete but I tried it and the longest kick was a "line drive" 35 yrds without a wobble "after many tries". 60 yrds.... you've got to be kidding me. There is either a trick to it that I have no idea about or he has a very powerful leg and he should have came out for kicker he may have garnered a schollie, I am sure the NFL takes guys who can kick from the 50 yard line.
