Commitment Sunday?

Submitted by InDee on

So I hear that today could be big in recruitment, with lots of prospects deciding later this evening. 2-3 awesome recruits commiting to M would be the only thing that can cheer me up after the B'ball debacle.

Scout.com says Kozan is deciding today between Iowa and Michigan. Some recent reports and our shifted focus suggest he may be headed to Iowa, but I still want to believe that he will show up in AA with Jordan Diamond in Fall.

Speaking of which, what's the decision timeline for Grant, Diamond, Reeves?

Actually, Devin Fuller committed to UCLA and the 247 crew ruined his announcement by releasing it over an hour before his press conference.

It may have been an accident, but the race to release it first became more important than the race to get it right, much like what Brian talked about with the Paterno story.

I predict that Michigan doesn't get diamond, Kozan, Grant, or Reeves. Ohio will finish with a better class than Michigan. If this happens it will be a large nut to swallow. ;)

I would guess it probably has to do with being with your family, talking things over and deciding. You might not have the time to announce on Wednesday and get everyone you want to be with you there for it. The weekend is a time when you're around the people who will care most about your decision.

The OP just randomly asserts that today is Commitment Sunday despite no evidence to support this. And it's already 9 PM. Something tells me not many recruits will be announcing Sunday night at 11PM.

happen to the commits none so far. The coaches should have had more options. We were only targeting 5 players done the wire,we have missed out on two now. What happened?!?!?!

I don't know why, but going back to the Carr years, it seems like Michigan has a tendency to miss out on these late-deciders.  We seem to get the big names earlier on.
