This is the game that has COMPLETELY convinced me we are back. Utter....devastating....destruction of a top 25 team. This is not last year...MICHIGAN IS BACK!
BRING ON OHIO!!

GO BLUE!

I loved how Hoke was out on the field during the last goal line stand.  I felt like the D (maybe the coaches too) went home a little early against ILL and allowed a free score late.  It was nice to see the coaches encouraging the kids to play all 60 no matter what the score.

Not just yet...I say pump the brakes for one more week.

I grew up in a land where I could count on 3 things.

1. Illinois to have a 2nd half of the season choke
2. Penn State fans blaming every loss to the refs.
3. Michigan beat Ohio

We're approaching the normalcy that I grew accustom to...but we're not quite there.

Michigan won't be "BACK" until we do one thing.

BEAT OHIO!

According to none other than

Michael Rosenberg's prediction,

Nebraska 27, Michigan 21

The Cornhuskers should be able to rush outside the tackles against Michigan, and I think Nebraska's defense is more talented than Michigan's.

And if that doesn't convince you that we lost today, here is

Drew Sharp's predicition:

Nebraska 24, Michigan 17

The Wolverines have improved defensively (they're not as historically wretched as they were a year ago), but until they can be successful against a physical team that's nationally ranked, they are miles away from returning to competitive relevance.

So, uh, I guess we lost?

Mike, take a hike.  Drew, screw you.

Together, you are historically even more wretched than you were a year ago.  Competitive relevance?  Well, you are employed by the Free Press; it would not be accurate to say that either of you works for that paper.

I love my Michigan football Saturdays in the way that had become only a memory the last few years.  And to me this is just the tip of the iceberg.  Wait until this staff gets year 2 and 3 with players with players they have been developing and teaching.

That was a joy to be in the stands. I am so proud of this team, the coaches, and the fans that stayed till the end. Go Blue and beat those Buckeyes.

Very satisfying win over Nebraska. About as complete of a game that Michigan has played in a long while; the last time I felt this way after a Michigan win was Michigan's destruction of #2 ranked Notre Dame in 2006.

The only thing that I could possibly complain about is that Michigan played this well against Nebraska but lost against Iowa, which sucks but shows that Michigan is learning and improving as the year goes on. Methinks the future looks bright.

I like the sentiment.  That was fun.  We will be back.....when we beat Ohio.  Because that is what Michigan football needs to do.

I do consider the score settled, that has been rankling my thoughts lo these 14 years.  Welcome to the Big Ten, Huskers.

With full acknowledgement that this is cart-before-the-horse stuff and knocking on every piece of wood in sight.....the Big East champion is going to be completely undesirable and will be the last or second-to-last pick (Houston might come after), and the Orange Bowl with the ACC champion has next-to-last pick.  No way we get the Big East champ, they'll play the ACC champ in the Orange or the Big 12 champ in the Fiesta.

We might go to the Orange and play the ACC champ, but that's probably only if Houston falls off the track.  Otherwise I think the most likely deal would be Alabama in the Sugar.

beating TSIO next week would make this whole season fantastic by itself.  Next week is a MUST win.  When we win it, then we are TRULY back.  In watching the Penn State-Ohio game now, there's no doubt Michigan is a better team.  Bring 'em on!
