Evening Games Open Thread
Got back from the, kinda wet, but kinda awesome. Ready for some more FOOTBALL, assuming we all keep power tonight. LSU/Oregon the big one, but there are other games of note for sure (any final word on what the hell they're doing in South Bend?). So, get something to eat, dry off, and let's welcome a good start to college football.

He cut corner to get where he is as a coach. He'd be a perfect fit at SEC.

It's no rocket movie

what the heck is he talking about? He's just rambling.

Rees picked off. USF on their way to another big win for their program

Is it televised? I'm no longer getting the game on NBC.

Changed to Versus.
Edit: wow, ask and yee shall receive.

disorganized. Aside from long TD run, Boise State defense has lot of team speed and flys to the ball. The DL is causing a lot of problems for UGA OL. Billy Winn is a stud DT and will play on Sundays.

Wished that he would've came to Michigan just for his name alone!

it looks like something I would've thought was wicked sweet in 5th grade. They just need capes and machine guns coming off of the shoulders to make it a complete elementary school special

.....from Hurricane Hoke via a stop at a birthday party, and now watching Boise State - Georgia. You know, when I saw the matchup on paper, I thought maybe BSU had grown some and scheduled a ranked opponent, but Georgia has not been able to do ANYTHING against them.
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:40 PM ^
Or maybe Boise is just that good? They did man up and schedule a ranked team(something they do every year but you can ignore that if you wish) and they pretty much dominated.

Say what you will about les miles, but the vaunted Oregon spread is getting smoked by Manball.
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:48 PM ^
.....as I was curious about this game. 30-13. Yikes.
If you had asked me earlier, I would have thought this one would be close.

If you took out the shady and the crazy, I would love LSU's offense. It's not really MANBALL; it's ridiculously versatile. You would have a hard time classifying it because it's a bit I, a bit spread, a bit West Coast...truly multiple. Not that you can't run one thing and run it REALLY well and be effective. I just hope Borges is as adaptable to the talent he has as he seems, and we end up looking something like LSU someday.

they used a lot of different formations. They're very diverse with a lot of shifts and motions to get mis-matches and/or number advantage. They do it well. If the defense aren't careful, they will hit you with a big gain.

Well, looking like 2 straight defeats to the SEC for Oregon. Their O line has really struggled in both this and last years NC game.
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:51 PM ^
These 2 games certainly did not live up to the hype, at least in the 2nd half. Was hoping for some close games that came down to the wire.
September 3rd, 2011 at 10:58 PM ^
they're a legit top 5 team. They are wiping the floor against UGA. People thinks that UGA will dominate BSU just like '05.
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:27 PM ^
agreed. Boisie looked impressive, but pretty dull games.

Brian Kelly will not own up to any of his team's mistakes. He's confident every time his team does something poorly it's because the kid hasn't been yelled at enough. Yelling at that WR he looked like a man who had lost it. That was amazing. I had not seen a human being turn that color.
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:53 PM ^
The LSU-Oregon result makes Brian looks pretty bad. Not only did the team he said on WTKA would get smoked do the smoking, but this is the second straight game that Oregon (held up by Brian last year as the symbol of Michigan's potential with a pure spread option attack) has faced a nasty, athletic defense and - wouldn't you know it - their stretch running plays don't work so well against those guys.
September 3rd, 2011 at 11:53 PM ^
I don't know if it's the dark uniforms, but Oregon's players looked tiny. If black uniforms are supposed to be intimidating, I think it backfired.
September 4th, 2011 at 6:59 AM ^
Oregon is small enough that I could swear LSU had 22 guys out there in comparison.
