Man, last year TCU gave up more than 20 points twice, to SMU and yep, SDSU. Big East domination this year may not be there just yet. Should've taken the over on this game.

even the punter sucks lol
September 2nd, 2011 at 9:15 PM ^
How much longer can that fake FG against ND really hold up for Sparty?? I've never seen a team live off of that play as long as Sparty has.

You're still getting flashbacks? I repressed those memories about 3 months ago.
September 2nd, 2011 at 9:18 PM ^
I just turned on TCU/Baylor. 27-23 with over 11 minutes left in the 2nd quarter? Sheesh.
Are these defenses trying to do worse than our 2010 defense?
September 2nd, 2011 at 9:20 PM ^
great call going for it on 4th, regadless of wether or not he had made that.

To whom it may concern,
Meltdown commencing over at RCMB. Enjoy.

I went over there and my IQ dropped at least 35 points. Good Lord, they are some stupid mfers.
September 2nd, 2011 at 9:39 PM ^
To me, it's a lot like watching The Jersey Shore. Yeah, they're stupid as hell and act like monkeys, but if you get past the fact that we're all the same species, it's hilarious.
September 2nd, 2011 at 9:26 PM ^
Baylor-TCU is a great game.
September 2nd, 2011 at 9:29 PM ^
@ESPN_ReceDavis: I'm trying to watch TCU and Baylor. But apparently the 2010 Michigan defense tape keeps appearing on my screen
September 2nd, 2011 at 9:36 PM ^
MSU will probably still win big but it doesnt matter because YSU has controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. The MSU offensive line is beyond patchwork and will struggle all season long, you just cant replace 3 starters with converted D lineman and not suffer as a result. I have been expecting this and have been very surprised by how little attention its gotten in the media. The MSU defensive line really struggled to get pressure last year and the stellar play of the 2 four year starting linebackers masked some of the issues.
Bottom line is football games are won in the trenches and MSU is weak on the offensive line and average on the defensive line.

I really like what I hear. Hopefully this game knocks sparty back down to earth.
September 2nd, 2011 at 10:37 PM ^
Really? All you'll hear from them after this game is "we're 1-0 brah!"
September 2nd, 2011 at 9:37 PM ^
Loving me some RG3. Taking Baylor +4.5 looking like good move now. Gary Patterson is going to metldown if his defense continues this play. Getting no pressure, LBs looking lost, and DBs looking lost in coverage.

I thought Sparty was the one with the great Dline?

I feel like im in this video watching them struggle

looks like a real weak spot
September 2nd, 2011 at 9:47 PM ^
More sparty celebrating after giving up a first...these guys aren't the brightest bulbs are they?
September 2nd, 2011 at 9:51 PM ^
I didn't like Adams' celebration earlier, but this one appeared to me to be a bad spot.
I thought Dennard had good reason to think he prevented a first down. But the refs thought differently.
September 2nd, 2011 at 9:47 PM ^
Sparty is sure talking a lot of trash against YSU, hilarious.
September 2nd, 2011 at 9:48 PM ^
Why go vertical there?
September 2nd, 2011 at 9:51 PM ^
the big picture is not this game, and if MSU wins it. The point is that MSU has been exposed and don't look like the great defense they were supposed to be.
September 2nd, 2011 at 9:54 PM ^
on defense last year and they lost 5 starters. I don't see what's incredibly shocking about this
September 2nd, 2011 at 10:03 PM ^
Because it's an FCS team with a quarterback who blows.
September 2nd, 2011 at 10:15 PM ^
See, e.g., this article by Phil Steele on 2010 returning starters. Average was 6.43333 returning starters on defense.
September 2nd, 2011 at 10:26 PM ^
had a post detailing projected FEI numbers using returning starters and recruiting. I think 6 was the break even point for returning starters, if memory serves. That's why I kind of expect MSU is going to be right about the same as last years 32 rating.
Also...HOLY CRAP RG3!!!!!!
September 2nd, 2011 at 9:52 PM ^
I know YSU is going max protect on a lot of their pass plays but I thought Sparty's D-line was supposedly the strength of this defense. Not getting any pressure has to be troubling, hopefully they keep this up all year.
September 2nd, 2011 at 9:55 PM ^
Tee hee hee MSU
September 2nd, 2011 at 10:00 PM ^
Sparty isn't playing well, but this drive looks very scripted. Not showing a lot, playing pretty confidently. That said, they didn't look very confident in the O-line and left blockers back on every pass play. 2 man routes tops
September 2nd, 2011 at 10:00 PM ^
Has the 2nd half in the little brother game started yet? ESPN still has the game at halftime.

This announce team is not good.

sounding. Also, their stadium looks like crap. And their jersey's are different every year. Where did those SUPER AWESOME shoulder stripes go?
September 2nd, 2011 at 10:39 PM ^
I especially like the sweat stain look they have going on in the stomach area.
September 2nd, 2011 at 10:05 PM ^
-Joe Tessitore still remains one of my favorite hidden gems as an announcer.
-The Big Ten Network crew cannot get off of MSU's dick. They have been making excuses for MSU all night.
-Samantha Steele for the Friday night coverage is a really good canidate for "Up and Coming Hot Sideline Reporter" of the year.
September 2nd, 2011 at 10:07 PM ^
Has anybody for MSU made a tackle before? They have a different celebration every single time.....Somebody needs to tell them they aren't really giving a stellar effort.
September 2nd, 2011 at 10:07 PM ^
Anyone having trouble with their directv tonight? I'm in GR and can't get signal on any of my higher channels. No BTN, VS, FSDet, etc. I've got clear skies and watched the Tigers vs KC yesterday on FsDet.

YSU wearing out oh well we have a football game tomorrow! Go Blue beat Western!
September 2nd, 2011 at 10:19 PM ^
Most high schools have better looking logos & uniforms than YSU. That said, I'm a huge Penguins' fan this evening.
Back to TCU/Baylor for me...
September 2nd, 2011 at 10:24 PM ^
Cunningham has three career 100 yard games and he is going to be the all time receptions leader for sparty.....clearly WR U!
September 2nd, 2011 at 10:25 PM ^
in the TCU-Baylor game. One year too late for Mike Martin, but it's good to see them protecting the defensive players a bit too. On the other hand, I thought that the last call (negating a 1st and goal and bringing up a 3rd and 20 for TCU) was a bit excessive. Here's the rule as of 2008:
A chop block is now defined as a high-low or low-high combination block by any two players against an opponent (other than the runner) anywhere on the field, with or without a delay between contacts. The “low” component is at the opponent’s thigh or below. A dangerous action that can lead to serious injury, the chop block is a personal foul that carries a 15-yard penalty.
It seems a pretty expansive definition...
September 2nd, 2011 at 10:26 PM ^
Wow. I think we may have our first upset of the year -- but I have to say...opening on the road at Baylor is Admiral Ackbar territory right there.

I'm happy I picked Baylor in my pick em league
