Rivals 250 updated
In addition to yeterday's 100 update featuring Kyle Kalis (22), Eric Magnuson (44), Ondre Pipkins (53), and Royce Jenkins-Stone (97), a few Michigan commits made the 250 list in the update. They are James Ross (158), Joe Bolden (184), and Terry Richardson (214).

of note:
wayne morgan - 139 to out of the rankings
tom strobel fell out too. previously was 231 though so he didn't fall very far.
danny o'brien jumped from the 200s to 154.
dwayne stanford fell from 90 something to 163.
jordan payton dropped to 118.

With Payton where was he before he dropped to 118? Is the rumor that his stock is dropping rather quickly true?
August 30th, 2011 at 1:23 PM ^
He was in the 90s a couple of months ago. Although he slipped a bit, being the #118 player in the country still would qualify him as an extremely elite prospect.

Agreed to be in the top 250 kids in HS from all across the US,I would consider them all to be great / elite prospects. Do our other WR's fall inside the top 250 for rivals?

Here's what the ratings looked like back in May:

I don't see a link to the current 250, but Bri'onte Dunn dropped from 124 to 141, correct?

Correct.

i should get an award for the longest time between repeat postings
August 30th, 2011 at 7:09 PM ^
Not true - less than a month ago I had double posts that were 31 minutes apart. No lie, I'll see if I can find them.

Thought maybe a couple others might have been on there.

How Diamond can be a five star to Scout, and so low to Rivals (226). I know there are often discrepencies between the two, but this seems like a pretty drastic difference. Obviously being rated as one of the top 250 kids in America is still a big deal to a site, but I wonder why Rivals is so down on him compared to the others?

I get the feeling that Ross is being underrated as a college prospect because he might not have NFL size. There's obviously no shame at all in being a top 200 HS player, but something tells me that he'll prove to be even better than that at Michigan.
August 30th, 2011 at 1:28 PM ^
Absolutely agree. I think Ross will be the best player in the class during his time at Michigan.
August 30th, 2011 at 1:27 PM ^
Rivals obviously is not impressed with Wormley.
August 30th, 2011 at 1:30 PM ^
Wormley is a 4* to every other recruiting site, I believe that Rivals has another ranking update coming up and would imagine that after that he will be a consensus 4*.
August 30th, 2011 at 1:51 PM ^
Helmholdt really, really doesn't like him at all.
August 30th, 2011 at 2:54 PM ^
Does not give Helmholdt much love either, its mutual.
August 30th, 2011 at 3:03 PM ^
Wormley will have to have a great senior year, which he is definetely capable of doing, to get his 4th star. He didn't do much this summer to change his status.
August 30th, 2011 at 1:38 PM ^
Rivals + Midwest Recruiting = FAIL.
I assume that will change as we go forward.
August 30th, 2011 at 1:40 PM ^
Rivals' new midwest recruiting analyst is Josh Helmholdt.
And Josh Helmholdt is not a fan of Chris Wormley.
So I don't think Wormley will be getting a bump in ratings.

Kalis is so close to that 5th star. Hopefully he can get it in the next set of rankings.
August 30th, 2011 at 2:17 PM ^
not that it will effect him when he comes to michigan, but he will have to battle a knee injury this year so don't think he will be getting the 5th star because of that.
August 30th, 2011 at 2:17 PM ^
Not sure he will, he was the first 4 star last set of rankings too. They bumped him down an equal number of spots to the number of 5 stars they added.
August 30th, 2011 at 2:41 PM ^
They said in the chat that he wasn't bumped down because they didn't like him as much now, buy rather because he didn't go to camps this summer. Thus, he couldn't show them anything they didn't already know. The four people that jumped him did go to camps, and Rivals got new data on them. So there is still a good chance he can get a fifth with a solid season.
August 30th, 2011 at 2:27 PM ^
Rivals usually has about 25-30 (or maybe a few more) 5-stars, so if he gets back to #18 or stays at #22, I'm guessing he'll get that fifth star.

More good news as it looks like Pikins will be an Army All-American. Congrats to him and lets hope it keeps on coming.
