OSU has zero O-line depth to start the season
Suspensions have apparelntly used up all of OSU's depth on the offensive line. Adams's 5-game suspension is well known, but apparently Corey Linsley is suspended for 2 games according to 247. He's not on the 2 deep that OSU released as part of its game notes. Back ups at all five positions include 2 guys who were unrated as recruits (Kramer and Blackman) and three freshman. Hall is starting at guard where Linsley was expected to start and Norwell is in at left tackle for Adams.

Yep. A preview for our O-line next year.
That being said, I will still point and laugh at OSU and worry about coming up with a rationalization about us in 2012 later.

Our O-line next year looks like this pending transfer or early departure. RS-JR Lewan, RS-SR Barnum. RS-SR Koury, RS-SR Omameh, RS-JR Schofield. Backups RS-SR mealer, SO Bryant, SO Miller, SO Glasgow, SO Yerden, RS-JR Gunderson and incoming freshman. We should be worried about 2013, since we lose 3-5 starters to graduation and lewan to the NFL is a possibility.

Eh, the only back-up tackles you listed there are walk-ons...yes, very highly regarded walk-ons, but still. Hopefully they can step up, but not an ideal situation at all. And the freshman will be true freshman, and I don't think any of us want a true freshman lineman on the 2-deep if at all possible. At least in 2013, the freshman will be in their second year (RS) and considering the class we are bringing in, I think we'll have some pretty good starters by that time.

It's actually been 7 years since we won the game. Unless you're ready to concede this year's game. All in all, though, I agree with your stance.

Eh, I wouldn't say our OL would be that deprived. Still got Mealer and Schofield (Elliot is listed as the backup to both guard positions IIRC), and Magnuson and Kalis should be ready to contribute right away at tackle IF NEEDED. Center, however, worries since Pace is donions.
I'd say OSU right now is in a far worst boat.

We have Koury, and hopefully Jack Miller will be good to go after that, as a RS Sophomore

"...and (they) still have Hell to look forward to."

Klein, Sweet and Sabino are starting as expected. But back ups are Tony Jackson (unrated senior w/ little experience), Chris Maxwell (unrated rSR who was listed as a DB in the spring) and Ryan Shazier (a hotshot freshman).

Too bad the beginning of their schedule is pretty easy. Should make the trap game against Toledo more interesting at least. Toledo has a legitimate shot to pull that upset

I might do a write-up of the game.

What's really too bad is that Miami will probably have even more players suspended for the "Ineligi-Bowl" than Ohio will. I am hoping for Colorado to suffer delusions of competence on the 24th that are so severe they become reality.

I don't know, I don't really want to invest my time thinking that they'll suck... but it's kinda hilarious, I mean, they all are 'glad' that the youngsters are stepping up... (Nine starters are either freshmen or sophomores, of the 22 players on the defensive two-deep, only six are seniors, and only three of those are starters, four of the top backups on the offensive line are freshmen + Blackman) I have been there, before the 2008 season, and I think we all know how painful a 1st year starter at QB can be, I just hope it bites them in the ass...

The buckeye fanbase is oblivious to everything because "The buckeye's third string players would be starters for any other B1G team." Impending doom is in sight but their own arrogance keeps them from seeing it.

Our o-line depth looking forward is epic.

Michigan will lose 2 starters at the OL after this year, 2013 though, some players will need to step up, I hope some of our younger players/commits make a Lewan/Omameh kind of debut in 2013
August 29th, 2011 at 9:54 PM ^
Well at least they'll get some help with Kalis in 2012...oh wait...

The question is, do we want OSU to demolish Sparty's hopes, or vice versa? I'm very torn on that one.
August 29th, 2011 at 10:31 PM ^
hopefully the stadium collapses when the two play each other, all kidding aside I prefer a Sparty win because they'll be even more crushed when we beat them.
August 29th, 2011 at 10:42 PM ^
I want to beat whoever wins that game. I will also be rooting for Sparty. Ohio is our rival.
Actually, I want to beat both of them. We need to shut up whoever wins that game, especially if it's Sparty.
August 29th, 2011 at 11:17 PM ^
Living on Ohio, I want Sparty to lay the wood to the hairless nuts. Most of their delusional fans (including Herbie) think they start the season 5-0 despite all their suspensions and key losses on defense
August 30th, 2011 at 8:30 AM ^
Really couldn't care less which way that goes...we just need to beat both of them.

Divisional tie breakers mean that a loss out of division shouldn't derail B10 hopes. As always a game like that is more a measure of who you are: glass half full (Yeah, team X lost!) or glass half empty (Aw, team Y won!)
