Stanford and Washington taking officials to Michigan, not OSU
doesn't mean they won't take non-officials to OSU of course. and probably means that we're still in the running.

If there is no chance that they will come here, why visit? If I was a high school senior, I would be visiting Florida or Oregon. Why take an official some place close to home that you are not going to go to anyway?

Because the night game is going to be awwesome.

Yeah, good tickets are expensive and mighty hard to come by.

Have either of them shown interest in ND? If not, is a night game between two schools that don't interest you awesome?

If this story is accurate, it would seem to indicate to me that we have a legit shot (maybe a long one) at landing one or both of them. Signing with OSU with no official visit seems kind of unlikely to me. Still, it is possible. But, if we did get Washington to commit, I'm not sure how this would affect O'Brien's status though. Taking both would mean we'd have to not take a guy at another position of big need. Also, the fact they're BOTH taking officials at mostly the same schools indicates that the "package deal" option is still very much a possibility. The drama continues.

USC, ASU and Alabama, sounds like they just want the luxury vacation. Maybe MSU and Michigan's getting visits means they are being considered as OSU alternatives. I'd have to think any OSU recruit right now would have back ups in case OSU does somehow get hammered.

err, huh?

You don't think they treat recruits right at Alabama? I'm sure Saban has the hostesses out in force when recruits are in town. Not as nice as USC and ASU scenery/weatherwise but I'm sure the treatment recruits get is top notch.

The Bama Belles (that is what they call their recruiting hostesses) are enough to classify this as a luxury trip.

Why are 2 Pac-12 schools bringing officials to Michigian in the first pla... Oh wait, nevermind

to observe practice or something when I was scanning the headlines. Too much work, not enough recruiting analysis...

Ahh you beat me to the punch!

This is what I get for not following recruiting....

Didn't Michigan basically say no to Tommy Schutt when he wanted to visit. They already had a commitment from Pipkins and as far as I know told Tommy thanks but no thanks. Then a couple days later he commits to Penn St.
This situation is similar but a little different because we still have a need at WR and with the commitment of Pipkins that basically filled up the need at DT.
With the three departures in the last couple weeks that opens up a few spots that weren't there before. I still think Michigan would take the Washington boys and then Payton/Madaris/Darboh before Stanford/Washington. This will be interesting to see how it pans out.
