02/05/2016 - 3:30pm Agree about the Prestige of the Parade All-American team

Didn't Bob Hope have a special every year, back in the 70's, where he introduced the Parade All-American Team?  I seem to remember that he would introduce each player and then make some wise crack as they came out.  Even as a kid it seemed kind of awkward.

I like a full bush, the way God intended.

10/17/2015 - 11:38pm Why is no one talking about

Why is no one talking about the low snap on that last play?  To me that was the problem.

Those Whigs really grind my gears!

11/26/2012 - 12:10pm Who paid for the cars?

Jonross, this article only focussed on whether the players got special deals on the cars.  Apparently they paid full price.  What I want to know is where did they get the money to purchase these cars?

04/01/2012 - 2:15pm On the Downswing

Our rivals expect us to lose.  If we win, that is the excuse they will use.  That they are on the downswing.  By the way, I recently reach 100 Mgo points.  Yeah me!

03/25/2012 - 10:53pm Buckeye Fail

I was checking out 11 Warriors today.  About half the comments over there are shock that an OSU lock went somewhere else, the other half are saying that Meyer must have seen something he didn't like and cooled on him.  There was talk that his completion % is too low, and that there are better prospects out there.  By the way this is what they accuse Mgoblog fans of doing.

03/25/2012 - 2:31pm Espn rankings

Ace, will you be adding an Espn column when they release thier rankings?  I heard this would happen on April 17, I believe.

03/04/2012 - 7:18pm Sparty Excuses

Yeah, if Dawson hadn't gone out, they would have won.  And don't get me started on the refs! lol

02/18/2012 - 8:53pm Michigan Arrogance?

What surprises me is how MSU fans have become so arrogant so quickly.  They act like it is a given that they will beat us next year.  I think Michigan fans are much less arrogant.  At least we recognize that we should win, but it will not be easy.

02/13/2012 - 6:09pm Kyle Kalis

I know it is a lie.  He was hounding Kyle Kalis enough that Kyle told him to stop calling.  If he would lie about something that is easily checked, what else does he lie about.

01/29/2012 - 1:39pm Sparty waastes their time

What amazes me is the fact that there are nine pages of that RCMB post.  That seems like a collosal waste of time to dedicate that much space to that topic.

12/22/2011 - 1:32pm U.S. Open tennis

They already have the technology to check placement of the ball.  At the U.S. Open the players have challenges that they can use when a particular call is really close.  It only takes a matter of seconds and they have an animated replay showing exactly where the ball landed in relation to the line.  Can't see any reason why they can't do the same thing with college football.

11/26/2011 - 12:27am BEAT OHIO!!!!!

I'm psyched!

11/01/2011 - 4:45pm championship game?

I count 11 teams in the new Big East, how are they going to schedule a championship game?  Am I missing something?

10/30/2011 - 4:59pm Big 12

What's up with the Big 12?  Are they really that good?  Nine of their teams are in the top 45 with only Kansas outside the top 50.  Also, 7 of their teams are in the top 10 for schedule strength.

08/29/2011 - 4:46pm Why visit Michigan?

If there is no chance that they will come here, why visit?  If I was a high school senior, I would be visiting Florida or Oregon.  Why take an official some place close to home that you are not going to go to anyway?

08/17/2011 - 2:38pm Yosemite is nice, but...

It is way too crowded.  You have to go into the back country to get away from the crowds.  Sleeping Bear Dunes is not near as crowded and it is great scenery.  Nothing better than sitting on the top of the dunes watching the sun set over Lake Michigan.

08/17/2011 - 2:36pm Geography?

Sleeping Bear Dunes is not in the UP.  It is on Lake Michigan, west of Traverse City.

08/14/2011 - 4:06pm Am I crazy?

The screens look awesome, but then when they pan the stadium, they seem so small!  I guess that's why they call it the Big House.

08/13/2011 - 12:39am Morris 2013

Morris will arrive in two years, not next year.  Denard will have graduated before Morris is a freshmen.

08/12/2011 - 11:52pm TomVH?

I thought TomVH made a post when this was going on saying that the reason Jones was gone had nothing to do with anything he did. Am I mistaken? Or maybe I was in a drunken haze and imagined it?  I just don't know...

08/11/2011 - 10:54pm Actually, they have 3/4 of the league in bowls

There are 9 Big Ten teams on the list.

Who's Morris Love?

05/18/2011 - 10:17pm I noticed that there doesn't

I noticed that there doesn't seem to be a lot of MSU recruits that we are recruiting, anymore.  Guess we already took most of them!

05/18/2011 - 9:18pm Thanks

I appreciate the help.  It will be fun to watch the 90+ offers slowly shrink.

01/20/2011 - 8:53pm Back up quarterbacks

Don't we have several players on the team that also played quarterback in high school.  Could they be a backup plan?

01/12/2011 - 12:45pm Interview process

I have trouble understanding why people are calling the coaching search a charade.  I am not a human resources person, but if I was looking to hire and already had someone in mind, I would go through the process of interviewing other potential candidates to determine is someone else was a better hire.  I think DB owed it to the school and fans to be deliberative and interview other candidates to determine if anyone else would do a better job.  I suspect that he determined that based on the overall picture, that Hoke was the best choice.  I hope that Hoke does a good job in the coming years.  All Michigan fans should feel that way.

Hey, I'm in my 40's, not dead! lol

12/29/2010 - 6:08pm A comparison

To me, the most important point of my thread was comparing MSU and U of M's record of double digit wins.  What caught my attention when looking at a statistics site was MSU's futility, and U of M's overall historical success.

12/29/2010 - 6:04pm Maybe I should have said Sparty in my title

I made this post because I thought it might get a good discussion going.  It's better than another CC thread!  I am in my 40's, so I don't remember the 1950's and 1960's, but am aware that Sparty had some good teams.  If they had a history of being good, it would not matter how many games they played. Michigan had double digit wins seven times before 1947.  Of course those were undefeated seasons and there was little room for error.

12/19/2010 - 10:28pm I resemble that remark!

I resemble that remark!

12/19/2010 - 9:57pm Top 20 Elite

If you take the the top teams in all time winning percentage and make a cut-off point of .600 winning percentage and higher, you end up with 22 teams. If you subtract Miami-Ohio, and Central Michigan (not in an AQ conference), you end up with a pretty good top 20 "elite" list.  Although, not sure if Virginia Tech and Colorado (no.19 & 20) fit elite status.

12/19/2010 - 8:11pm Not Impressed

I am not really impressed with the Miami Dolphins fight song, although the cheerleaders are cool.  Thy kinda gave me a tingly feeling!

All I know is that in September 20011 Justice will be served!

10/03/2010 - 11:51pm Freshmen starting

I'm so tired of people arguing about whether Dee will start or not.  I think the point is, in a perfect world, we would have tons of All Americans that are Juniors and Seniors, (and Sophmores), meaning that most Freshmen would not be able to get playing time.  In that case we could redshirt most of our future All Americans.  In this scenario, we would be one of the best teams in the country year in and year out.

09/27/2010 - 10:44pm I agree

I was thinking the same thing:  We give up a lot of yards, but not near as many points in comparison.

09/19/2010 - 3:20pm I agree

Scoring offense and defense is much more telling.  Scoring defense= 69, scoring offense = 37.  The ball can be move up and down the field, but scoring is the important stat.

09/16/2010 - 12:23pm He was cut

White didn't leave to play baseball, he was cut by the dolpins.  But it was a wasted pick for them.

Oops, beat me to it.

08/13/2010 - 9:48pm Huh?

Check the article again, I think you added the bloody part.

08/08/2010 - 6:03pm Gender?

If you are female, your comment is suddenly much hotter!

08/02/2010 - 4:59pm Go Brian!

Mgoblog gets quite a bit of comments at the end of the article.  In fact Brian actually gets some love from some of the commentors.

07/30/2010 - 11:06pm Actually laughed out loud!

That was funny,  where do you guys find these stories?

07/30/2010 - 10:54pm No, but I would have like to

No, but I would have like to have had this teacher at some point.

06/27/2010 - 7:57pm ?????

I thought they were the sons of Ricky Nelson and gransons of Ozzie Nelson?

06/03/2010 - 10:39pm I use to live in Indianapolis

I use to live in Indianapolis and worked security at Conseco Fieldhouse.  One year Wooden was at his namesake basketball tournament: the Wooden Classic and I got to spend a day with him watching the games and driving him around in a golf cart.  One of the best experiences I have ever had.  He was genuine and down to earth.  Even all his family from L.A. were very down to earth.  Great family

05/28/2010 - 12:46pm Improved Defense

One problem with our defense last year was the fact that we would give up the big play.  We seemed to do okay, but get worn down.  With the improved depth in the secondary, is it unrealistic that we could eliminate one touchdown a game?  If we did that, we would be giving up just over 20 points a game and be in the top half of the conference.  If we still score 30 a game, we would be in pretty good shape.  Any thoughts?

05/25/2010 - 9:09pm South Bend paper

I agree with you, I lived in Goshen, Indiana for two years.  During football season the front page headline of the South Bend Tribune was ND football on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.  I don't mean the headline of the sports section, but the top headline on page one, above the fold.  There could have been a nuclear war, but the Friday headline would be ND football.
