DT Tommy Schutt visiting Friday? (*No longer visiting, possible commitment?)
Steve Wiltfong- Major changes regarding Top247 DT Tommy Schutt and his recruitment. Could visit Michigan on Friday. 247sports.com/Article/Change… via @247Sports
EDIT:
Steve Wiltfong- Just got word that Tommy Schutt will no longer be visiting Michigan. The staff asked him not to. Things could be developing in AA.
UPDATE:
Reports now that there is no commitment.
Well.. that's weird. Could potentially put some pressure on Pipkins. Schutt is a straight up monster, but I thought Tom had said we've been out of it for a while?
Hoke is never out of it.
WHO KEEPS UPVOTING THESE WAGGLE POSTS?
I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess not you?
It is pretty obvious that he created multiple accounts to give himself upvotes.
YES. Thank you. A reasonable explanation that doesn't involve the decline of our society.
When are we gonna be done with all this silly flirting and just date?
Actually the US gov. created a profile...oh wait. Sorry, wrong thread.
You seem to have a weird obsession with Waggles...it's freaking me out.
Don't worry, we'll be facebook official soon
That would be a nice surprise. Hope he comes and loves it. All 5* DTs are welcome...we'll leave a light on.
??? Are you from midland?
You Schutt your mouth when you're talking to me
I thought we were dunn with these stupid recruiting puns. At first we were all finding diamond's in the ruff with these jokes but not anymore. I feel like I am elmer fudd hunting rabbits and nobody understands me. If you all don't stop I'm going to explode this website with dymonte and then diggs myself a hole to be alone in. It is like all these jokes are coming at my spence. Am I wright? You are all pieces of shittu. Can't we all just wait until these recruits touch the banner.
Kieling over in laughter right now, I never thought Id see the Day.
From Midland? Yes I am. Nice guess.
Didn't think neither....Tom was paying attention on what was going on over here. He's also visiting nd this week...
This should make things, very much so,interesting
but there's ESPN insider posting that Jordan Diamond LOVED his visit to Ole Miss. I'll post a little bit of his comments here:
"I am not going to lie, it was better than I expected, way better," Diamond told Scout.com's Yancy Porter. "I really did not even want to leave...They just really care about you and what is best for you down there. The environment around that place is just cool and calm and that is a big plus for me coming from Chicago. They have the type of environment where you can just focus on football and your books. The visit really could not have gone any better."
Diamond had a similar article on him in Rivals recently. Except replace "Ole Miss" with "Arkansas". Must have said the word "great" around ten times. I think given everything that has gone on with his recruitment, he could be this year's A. Zettel.
I'm getting that feeling too. I'd love to have him, but I think we'll end up okay with whatever DTs commit (from the group of those strongly considering us).

Getting his replacement .... just in case.
it's probably not hard to exceed expectations in mississippi. does anyone have high expectations when going to mississippi who wasn't born and raised in biloxi?
what books? they actually read books down in ole miss?
SimplyComplex said: Thanks for the info Steve! Do you think Michigan has a shot at landing Schutt?
Wiltfong: I really like where they stand. We'll see following this upcoming trip to Ann Arbor.
I'm a little skeptical just because everything has suggested Michigan's been out for him for a while now. But if he's interested then yes please...
I don't really follow 24/7 that much, but how reliable is Steve? Like would that be akin to Tom saying we're in a good position, or Ace Williams saying we're in a good position?
Wiltfong's really good. One of the best analysts out there IMO.
"Being akin to Ace Williams"=the ultimate insult to a sports journalist.
"does great work at The Bleacher Report"
But roughly on par with "exhibits the tact and grace of a young Albert Lin."
Well that would be an amazing and unexpected turn of events. Him and Pipkins/O'Brien would be an even greater way to finish the class.
Day was recruited for DE in ND's 3-4. Schutt is, reportedly, favoring ND still. A visit could change that but... ND still has room if they want him.
Our DC seems to be able to put people under his spell (as our HC does), and we can sell a 4-3 Under 1T much more easily than a 3-4 NT. Eating a lot of double teams in either, but guaranteed almost every down in a 3-4. He'll have more opportunities to make plays in our defense.
And scoreboards.
The Inn is apparently full
Will you let him in the manger?
mislead by out-dated (day old) info
Read recently that nd was only taking one dt...sounds like they got their tackle.
Hello Tom?
This is an open and Schutt case. For ND that is. OH wait, I guess we told him we don't want him. Which means that Jones is a silent commit. (Maybe).
Can you please elaborate on this.
for Schutt, but that Sheldon Day might have just taken his spot.
Indeed. Schutt was going to commit on Tuesday, apparently the staff are higher on Day.
Unreal.
For those that don't understand - this would be like taking Jordan Diamond over Kyle Kalis. Truly puzzling, but a good problem to have for ND I suppose.
If he visits - we'll have our two DT recruits locked up within two weeks. Book it.
Standifer over Reeves. Day is willing to commit, Schutt has not been.
trouble
At 300 lbs. I'm assuming he'd be a 1-Tech. Does anyone know for sure where he's being recruited to play?
Probably a nose tackle. Here's his highlight film:
his team seems to run 2-5-4
