There is...
5 whole posts down.

And properly labeled "OT".
It isn't labeled "open thread". It's more of a recap thread
Yes, it could win an award for most awkwardly titled thread ever.
I'm driving back from Vegas. Updates would be awesome.
USA has had multiple chances to put one in the back. Shots haven't missed by much. Good defensive pressure has led to breakouts for Cheney/Wamback. If USA continues to keep possesion I would expect this to go our way in the second half.
Alex Morgan subbed in for an injured Lauren Cheney to start the 2nd.
Another near miss, clank off the post for Alex Morgan.
Shots 15 - 5 US at the 54 minute mark.
Well, if the US doesn't win, they only have themselves to blame. Should have buried alot of these chances.
GOAAAAAALLLLLLLLL US - Alex Morgan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ALEX MORGAN!!! AHHH GOAALLLLLL!! USA USA USA
USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA
Much needed goal there. Force Japan to have to take some chances now instead of sticking back and trying to lull the USA to sleep and get a cheap one.
Japan hasn't had great touch out there all day. They've had some chances as well, but bad passes and touches have ultimately ruined alot of their great opportunities
truffle shuffle!
Jesus Kreiger......what the hell was that? Clear the damn ball.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Bad defense, 1-1 tie 80 minute mark
This game got a lot more exciting really quickly. It's like both teams awoke from their offensive slumbers and are giving it their all now.
Extra time - 30 minutes
sudden death?
...wish that Gus Johnson was calling this game?
GOAAAAAALLLLLLLLL US - Wambach from Morgan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1st 15 minute extra time is over.
2-1 US start of 2nd extra time.
Women's soccer is boring as hell. Good thing we have that Alex Morgan girl to look at.
Brah. Maybe you should check the sale on affliction at the outlet mall.
Now for 15 mins NO more prevent D and trying to be cute with it....we live by attacking and we have to die by attacking. Dont give Japan another cheap one again.
looks like they've been taking lessons on how to fuck up a 1 goal lead from the red wings.
Son of a bitch. At least this will make it more interesting when we win... (Fingers crossed)
Wow. Blowing it in the shootout.
CHOKE. The US choked so hard there. Ugh.
The USA blows it in epic fashion. Womp womp.
Japan wins with a ninja in goal
Probably wasnt the best day for the U.S. backline to take a crap on the field in front of their goalie. Hell, I can live with the corner kick goal but that 1st goal was just plain sad.
It's time to get greatly younger on the backline. 30 and under should be the new rule because they got gassed.
Wow, heartbreaking.
Also, that reporter that just interviewed Abby Wambach is a total sack of shit. Questions like, "How's it feel to get so close then let it slip away?" and "How is it possible to go up twice and still lose?" WTF, are you serious?? Douchebag should be out of a job.
If it was Peyton Manning or LeBron James, no one would have a problem with the questions.
It's not the questions themselves as much as the way they were phrased.
There's a difference between asking questions and rubbing someone's face in it and kicking them while their down.
The way they were phrased the guy may as well have said, "Hey, you guys just shit the bed on those penalty kicks, how you feeling about that?" And keep in mind this was mere minutes after it happened, while they were still on the field so this was all very fresh at this point.
I don't have an opinion on Peyton Manning, but LBJ is an ass-hat and i really don't care what he gets asked, or how. Wambach, however, is a class act. Many pro athletes won't even talk to the media after a heartbreaking loss in a championship game. Wambach was gracious enough to give an interview.... right after the game, not in some press conference after an hour long delay where she and her teammates get a break in the locker room... and questions like that are what she gets in return? Come on, that's ridiculous. She and her teammates had just fought for 2 hours and those are the questions she gets??
I wouldn't have as much of a problem with this if it were after a pro game, but this is our national team. How about a little respect for those that represented us damn well on an international stage....not just with excellence on the field but with grace and charm as well.
Until I realized this was women's soccer. And then turned on a WNBA game via Tivo. Next.
And just what kind of "Women's World Cup" did you think the title alluded to?
One cup, international style?
I'm so proud of our girls. Go USA!
WWC 2011: return of LLOYDBALL.
trolling?
how about we lost the game by falling asleep immediately after each goal. japan responded 12 minutes after the first goal, 8 minutes after the second. everyone I was watching with was screaming at the tv as they just aimlessly kicked the ball around hoping to run the clock out, playing neither offense or defense.
pedal to the metal, and all that.
Anyone else notice how our coach is a dead ringer for Pete Carroll?
We'll care again in 3 years. (or 4).
I thought Virginia was a classy place for lovers.
