It's a defensive player not from the midwest.
Do we know that it is a DB? I was wondering if Jordan Diamond or more likely Sheldon Day were close to committiing. Chris Wormley said he was waiting until track was over to focus on his recruitment, which I am not sure when that is. I think Armani Reeves is another good possibility, and hopefully Terry Richardson has been recruiting him harder than his teammate Camren Williams. When will the commitment be announced or known to the public?
Seems like the DB assumption was made based on our recent paired-by-position pattern of committments.
I think one of the posters above said it was from a non-Midwestern defensive player eliminating Diamond (offense, Illinois) and Day (Indiana). But I admit I would absolutely love to get those guys too. Does anyone know if we still lead for Day? I haven't heard as much about him recently. I think he is supposed to be at the upcoming OSU Nike camp along with several other Michigan commits. Hopefully they can get in his ear.
The last thing I heard about Day was that his coach is very pro-osu. This might not be such a huge issue now since Day doesn't have an offer from osu.
Lets hope it stays that way after the Nike camp there.
I don't know if I believe this rumor.. His head coach, John Hart, used to be at Evansville Reitz and coached me.. He was never a big OSU guy but we also didn't have a Sheldon Day on our team and never had anybody recruited by them .. I think we have a good shot at him. I still stay in touch with coach Hart here and there and from what we talked about last time, he's pretty high on Michigan..
says news won't break until Monday at the earliest
Trieu also said we should here by monday, maybe later...
Someone PLEASE let us know! I will be checking every 2 3/4 minutes for updates.
I could see Richardson getting on the phone to Reeves, telling him "the LBs are in place, the DEs are lining up, let's form a monster CB tandem"
I hope it's someone msu offered that way they can continue to freak out
but Diamond tweeted yesterday:
Jordan76simeon Jordan Diamond
I'll walk that path with you!
I would be ecstatic if it were Jordan Diamond!
Starting to worry about all his recent visits and the decision to move his commitment date up. I hope he makes the right choice.
Wormley, Diamond, a CB (Reeves, Morgan, Standifer), Burbridge or Gant seem likely.
Gant seems the most likely of anyone. He was waiting for an offer, received one, and now is ready to jump on the ark before someone else takes his spot.
I don't see why Gant would keep it silent, being a "legacy" type recruit and all...
EDIT: after seeing Tom's post about telling friends or family, I deem my point moot.
Wayne Morgan. he has been rumored to have M out in front of Rutgers right now.
He just wants to make sure the world doesn't end first.
About how long would you say?
So that rules out any of the women that we offered, anymore hints?
Ah, well done Hoek. We also know he has family and friends. We can flip down all the recruits without family or friends.
Does your silent commit wear glasses?
you forgot one very important aspect........
he has coaches
you forgot one very important aspect........
he has coaches
We also know he's not an orphan.
thanks Tom. your reassurance will allow many MGoBloggers to sleep soundly tonight

Do the letters "cl" look like a "d" in this font to anyone else? Makes for some comical reading sometimes.
Kind of like "pom" looks a lot like "porn" So when my friends say they're "working hard at pom" i read it differently and it makes it quitefun
I am sure we can wait a couple more days.
I can't wait another couple of minutes. The refresh key on my keyboard is still recovering from the whole cc thing. Recruiting heating up this early is killing me.
It would seem like, given that we don't have a lot more room for DBs, that it would be "commit now or forever hold your peace" . . .
Non-Midwest kid. It's Reeves.
1. Not in midwest
2. On defense
Possibilities: A. Reeves, W. Morgan, W. Hines, O. Pipkens
Less Likely: N. Agholor, J. Jones, R. Watson
Doesn't fit criteria: A. Washington, A. Burbridge, D. Stanford, G. Kiel, Z. Pike, S. Day, J. Johnson, A. Standifer, T. Strobel, C. Wormley
Am I missing any names???
Those 4 possibilities look about right barring something from way out in left field.
Deon Bush??
rule out pipkins I and many others would consider Missouri being a mid west state.
FWIW, I know Rivals classes Missouri as Midlands and not Midwest. Not sure what Scout and the others do.
Not going to weigh in on what I think, mostly because I couldn't possibly care less but for Rivals at least, Missouri is not considered Midwest.
EDIT: Per the link, Scout do have Missouri in the Midlands as well so Pipkins should be considered. I don't think it's him, but he's a possibility.
In fact the Dept. of Commerce and the Census Bureau would agree with you. MO is the midwest, even if a site classifies it as "Midlands" it would still meet the criteria for the Midwest.
"even if a site classifies it as "Midlands" it would still meet the criteria for the Midwest"
Except the site breaking this news and classifying it as non-Midwest is Scout which lists Missouri as non-Midwest. The census isn't the one giving us this news. Therefore, we need to consider Scout's interpretation.
I consider Russia more part of Europe then of Asia. Not everyone in the world does and that's something I might have to consider when interpreting news/opinions, etc.
I hope it's Reeves. I'm still holding out hope we can steal Jones from PSU (and it seems like he's interested in being stolen). Not sold on Hines yet.
Gant's not in there. He's mid-west though I believe.
Jordan Diamond. At least in your "doesn't fit criteria" catergory. But I'm not sure where you heard that this recruit is not in the midwest and plays defense. If I were to guess without confirmation about your details, I would guess Jordan Diamond, especially since he tweeted recently that he was close to making a decision, and a few hours ago canceled his visit to Wisconsin for whatever reason.
Hines seems a little far afield for me. Has he even been on campus yet? And Missouri is still the Midwest, although, granted, people tend to forget that. I imagine it's either Reeves or Morgan, and that makes the most sense, as the CB position just lost one opening.
the Midwest is all the Big Ten states, including Nebraska, except for Pennsylvania. In addition to those, Missouri, Kansas, and the Dakotas.
I've never heard the Dakotas as considered part of the Midwest.
