There were no ski masks. Just because Sparty is too stupid to look at facts doesn't mean you should be.
Make fun of their mediocre football history, make fun of their USnews rankings... but enough with the fabricated stuff. It makes our fanbase look uneducated and bitter.
"The fact that Mark Dantonio has as many conference victories in Ann Arbor that RR has in the entirety of his Big Ten Schedule over 2+ years in Michigan Stadium is not very encouraging."
you are actually insinuating that Michigan State fans would defend known rape by their own athletes and that a Michigan State alum would would falsify rape allegations to make UM athletes look bad.
That is messed up... they are in-state SPORTS rivals, not the root of all conceivable evil. Keep it in perspective.
none of the Sparties I know really care. MSU-PSU was forced, and I don't think they have a problem with the new divisions.
Chait should have better things to do than write premium articles about Little Brother immediately after conference realignment. You do appreciate the irony of him taking the time to write all of these anti-MSU articles while claiming they are irrelevant, right?
This board is way too pessimistic. Pryor is garbage, PSU is rebuilding, and Brian has already PROVEN that Iowa cannot be good two years in a row because of luck.
11-1, easy. htown is right, RR's track record demands nothing less.
Looking at the 4 and 5 star recruits (Rivals) from the state of Michigan, MSU landed six of them in the five years preceding Dantonio. He's signed 12 in the last three years.
We've signed seven 4 and 5 star recruits from the state of Michigan in the past three years, and thirteen in the preceding five years.
Can MSU be happy that they are recruiting better in-state lately? Absolutely.
Are we recruiting "worse" in-state? Not really.
Does this mean ANYTHING at all in the grand scheme of our recruiting and should we be obsessing and worrying over it in multi-part blog posts? No.
I think Central w/ Lefevour would have given us a scare the last several years, too. Mobile QB plus our subpar defense... I'm glad they were off the schedule.
The view from those seats is better than the all the way at the top of the Big House. Thankfully, I've only had to sit in the back row once: OSU 2003. At least the game was worth it...
That "stone age" playcalling was good for more total offense (and significantly better passing offense) than ours last year.
I'm also not certain what mentality isn't conducive to winning shootouts... MSU beat Purdue in a shootout to become bowl-eligible, something we failed to do.
I believe RR will get it done here, but his decided schematic advantage over guys like Dantonio (or more accurately, MSU's OC) has yet to be proven on the field.
...we absolutely blew all of our chances in this game.
Interfering with Rogers, 12 men on the field... terrible. All we had to do was NOT implode to walk out of there with a win and revenge for the Plax show in '99.
I don't enjoy reliving UM football shooting itself in the foot, so let us never speak of it again.
Columbus is a great atmosphere (but too hostile for me to enjoy fully). Madison is fun, and definitely a good time. East Lansing is an easy drive, a great tailgate, and less disgusting than Columbus overall.
Evanston does not rate... there are more opposing fans than NU fans tailgating.
I need this info to rip my Sparty coworkers. How has MSU been threatening high schools? And where did you see that Dantonio's teams have been academically poor?
Yeah, what would it take to get a cute name for the MSU gang-related assault and near-rape/genocide, like "Posse Roundup & Engineer/Woman Beatdown?" If only someone would take up this cause to senselessly sensationalize stories- then I would believe in objectivity too.

Mitchell also said some of the men wore ski masks. Police chief Dunlap, however, said police concluded that one person was wearing a knit cap that covered his head and chin, but the face was visible.
"There weren't, in my estimation, any items that would fit what I would commonly refer to as a ski mask," Dunlap said.

Ugh
You call the simple explanation "weird" and choose to believe in a secret cover-up by a rival to beat your team.
You display irrational hatred towards me for pointing this out logically. I'd rather worry about my team than obsessing over a non-rival.

Shocker, your conspiracy theory was wrong.
Let's move on to Iowa.
...says it all when this is what you are reduced to obsessing over.
of the mlive-quality action here, the mods cleaned it up.
EDIT: Wow, now I see even some of the non-meltdown threads were cleaned out. How much stuff did get deleted?
that you are getting negged for this.
These are legitimate, rational points made in a calm manner, people... stop being childish.

And we're only bitter right now. Dammit.
has actually gone on to win the next two games after playing UM every year under Dantonio.
We are 0-3 in the game after playing MSU under Dantonio.
Man, does this need to change.
"The fact that Mark Dantonio has as many conference victories in Ann Arbor that RR has in the entirety of his Big Ten Schedule over 2+ years in Michigan Stadium is not very encouraging."
TomVH debunked that.
Even if they win the next 10 straight, we will still be the dominant program.
We still own OSU, MSU, and the Big Ten. Don't let them forget it.
because of your avatar.
Both of us were undefeated in '99, the year Plaxico would not be stopped.
They lost the next two games after beating us, and we dropped one to Illinois.
because that is when they joined the Big Ten. I like starting with the Bo years better.

"The knowledge that you exist is a burden on my soul."
Ed Martin didn't coach MSU to multiple Final Fours. Please go post on the RCMB if you feel the need to put this stuff online.
We had the benefit of playing a Crist-less ND for a significant portion of the game.
that Izzo should have thrown him under the bus publicly instead of this?
We're planning for MSU weeks ahead of time?
OMG LOL OMG WE ARE CLEARLY OBSESSED LOL
[/sarcasm]
obsessing over MSU? Please and thanks.
This place is slowly turning into a board full of Taters.

they owned ND in South Bend until last year, which always made me happy.
Then again, the 2006 JLS meltdown against ND also made me happy...
MSU loses to a MAC team every six months? Impressive.
To quote Inigo Montoya: "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
...the family values line should give it away as mocking us.
mgohumor must be broken today.
#1) Another MSU thread? Really?
#2) Google reveals that:
http://noise.typepad.com/hey_joe/2010/08/pat-white-transferring.html
"White was passed in camp by true freshman Isaiah Lewis and was not in the two deep at the end of camp."
So... no. This is more like Ray Vinopal leaving (no offense to him) than Woolfolk.

MSU has a 5* and two 4*.
We have three 4*.
I don't think it's surprising that they're ahead for now. We'll jump back ahead after we land Frost/Grant/Zettel, etc.
you need the threat of the passing game.
See: Robinson, Denard last year.
We finished 5-7.
We lost. We barely made it to OT.
Penn State killed us, too.
We didn't make a bowl.
Our recruiting class post-Dorsey had 5 4* players. MSU's had 4 4* and 5* Gholston.
Seriously, who cares if Sparty gets preseason love? We don't have much an argument ourselves...
I'd love that to be true, except our own APR is hitting rock bottom under Coach Rod too...
As pointed out here:

We unfortunately haven't accomplished the same in 30 years.

Not really... but Dantonio did successfully transition Cinci from the C-USA to the Big East and left them in good shape.

2007 - 2 regular season losses post-MSU
2008 - 1 win, 3 losses
2009 - 6 losses (+ Baby Seal U)
6+3+2=11
My counting is just fine. Yours needs work.
...not counting Baby Seal U, we're 1-11 in the regular season after playing Dantonio's MSU teams.
Undeniable conclusion?
I need this info to rip my Sparty coworkers. How has MSU been threatening high schools? And where did you see that Dantonio's teams have been academically poor?
snap.
Well said.
Dorsey as a hardened criminal, ski masks at MSU, Rodriguez as a document shredder, etc.
All have been proven false, but you'll still read about them everywhere.
Had to turn down my Harvard acceptance to go blue, and never regretted it.
"North Western"? Really?
Agreed, we just need to win and there are other RB recruits out there. No big deal.
The Only Colors did a poll.
http://www.theonlycolors.com/2010/4/28/1449801/toc-talk-the-2010-michig…
Contrary to your statement that "9-3 is the expected basement", the majority of them expect 8 wins or less.
You should let the OP be the only one tossing out ignorant claims here.
