When is Dantonio's press conference?

I looked everywhere I could for some indication, because I am sooooo looking forward to the assertive MSU press corps challenging Dantonio on exactly when the Chris L. Rucker team rules-violation occurred.

Last time I checked, nobody was asking me to do any blocking or tackling.  I sure hope our guys do a good job, and play better in the future than in the one game versus MSU.  But whether they do or not won't depend on me, although the Athletic Department probably appreciates my financial support just as they appreciate everybody's financial support.

This is a blog; not a team meeting.  There's one function that blogs can serve very well, and that's to serve as a check on an abusive press corps and a kick in the pants for a lazy press corps.

If -- and I really don't know the details, yet -- Chris L. Rucker's "transgression" occurred before the Michigan game but Dantonio conveniently determined the punishment on Sunday morning, then that's a story.  It may be that Dantonio has an explanation.  Nobody will know, for sure, unless it gets asked.

If, based on solid and relevant information, published in an accurate context, I can help kick Dantonio's repsectability in the nuts, I'd be happy to do so.  If there's no story (if Rucker did something Saturday night and within hours, Dantonio had determined to suspend him -- a pretty weird scenario if you ask me), then I won't "obsess" over anything.  I'm not "obsessing" over this.  I just asked the question when his presser was; I'd like to see how it plays out.

And no, I don't care about Chris L. Rucker or what happens to him.  He can play next week, for all I care.  He can go the NFL, or to the Muskegon Correctional Center.  He can drive a cab, or become a graduate assistant.  I don't care.

I just want to know if Dantonio is timing player suspensions around his game against Michigan.

While I typically find that Section 1 does obsess over local media coverage of our program, he is right with this one.  No one cares about Chris Rucker, but Dantonio has been held out as a saintly figure by the media.  When the Demar Dorsey was a big multi-page investigative piece, Rodderick Jenrette's story was nowhere to be seen (even though Jenrette, while a Spartan, was also a product of the same juvenille offender program as Dorsey).  When Winston was taken from prison to practice - hardly a peep.  When the MSU players attacked the potluck, the coverage was slow in coming with almost no demand for Coach D to address it.

So, I agree that given the history of Coach D allowing criminal players to remain on the team (in some cases timing suspensions (if any) to avoid missing players for big games), it's a fair question to ask - "When did the activity, for which Rucker is being suspended, take place?"

If it happened prior to Saturday; that's a real story.  It doesn't affect the outcome of the game in the slightest, but "when" is an essential question to ask.

That was a "conspiracy theory"?
