- He's good enough of a D1 prospect to have earned a scholarship from Stanford/Harbaugh
- He is a legacy and loves Michigan
- He appears to have decent to good academics judging by his previous opportunities with the Ivys and Stanford
- We need quarterback depth; after Denard we only have Gardner and Bellomy on scholarship with Morris coming in two years later

So much exciting stuff happens after said memorable event. Having just finished the 3rd book I feel like the 4th season of the show is going to be non-stop craaaaaaziness. Can't wait!

No King Joffrey appearance in this episode. Nice!
The story's moving pretty fast. Makes you wonder if they're still planning to split book 3 into two seasons?

None. He'll be too busy winning all the 4 point contests, which they'll create to counteract Nik's shooting dominance.

Great to hear that Mathis had a good time at the camp and on campus. Hope Michigan can stay on him hard despite being so far away.
I'm curious to hear Mathis' reaction to his and Cravens' visit to Nebraska's spring game next weekend. I think his response to that visit will tell us whether or not he's one of those recruits who is blown away everywhere he visits. I hope he isn't and that Michigan continues to sit in the driver's seat for his services!

Looks like Cravens and Mathis are scheduled to visit Nebraska for their spring game on 4/14. Hope Mathis' visit to AA next weekend is eye-opening enough to keep Michigan in strong standing.

Never good to see transfers, but best of luck to all 3.
Two main concerns:
1. Ball handling: who else besides Trey will we rely on to bring up the ball? Stu is graduating and Brundidge is transferring.
2. Experience: Smot had two solid years under his belt. It's definitely a blow to the program when someone with significant minutes logged leaves (in addition to the Stu/Novak graduations), even when we replace him with a top incoming recruit.

Assuming one of Kugler, Pocic, and McGovern takes the final OL spot, I'm curious to know which of the remaining two fall into the "we'll take you anyway since you're just that good" bucket?
I'd imagine Pocic does, but what's McGovern's story? Can't say I know too much about him.

Didn't really think about this until I came across your post, but doesn't it make sense for kids to hold no loyalty to Saban when they know that he'd drop them like a bad habbit after just one injury or a poor season?
I agree and am glad M focuses on moreso on character, family, tradition, etc. than the promise of mega millions at the next level.

|2 years 33 weeks ago||Aside from the fact that we||
Aside from the fact that we rarely take JuCo prospects (Austin Panter?!), Baty seems like a good fit:
I feel like the first three points alleviate most concerns over taking a JuCo prospect and the last bullet only adds to the reasons why we'd need him.
My only question is where his scholarship would count. Assuming he enrolls at the beginning of 2012 as indicated in the articles, would he go towards our 28 scholarship limit for 2012, be back-dated to the 2011, or count towards the 2010 total of his original graduating class?
|2 years 33 weeks ago||Glad to see the coaching||
Glad to see the coaching staff practice consistency with their recruiting policies. It's anyone's guess whether or not Brown told the staff before taking the visit. Hopefully there's still mutual interest both ways. If not, then I'm sure the staff can find another recruit that's just as talented, if not more, to take Brown's spot.
Edit: according to thewolverine.com's chat this evening, Brown's visit was unexpected by Michigan's staff. It sucks to lose such an amazing athlete but I'm sure the class of 2012 will be a major success with or without him!
|2 years 34 weeks ago||I wish we could take them||
I wish we could take them both! However, if we're discussing Shaq OR Dunn, I'd argue in favor of Dunn, largely due to each player's likely destination in place of Michigan.
If Shaq does not pick Michigan, chances are he stays somewhere on the West Coast, likely in the Pac-12. This recent Rivals article (http://michigan.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1282508) from late-October states that his top two are Oregon and Washington, with Cal also in the mix. Chance are low that we run into Shaq in a game, unless of course, we meet in the Rose Bowl.
On the other hand, if Dunn doesn't pick Michigan, I think he stays at Ohio, which means we play him once a year. Not only would landing Dunn mean we get one of the best RBs in this class (who also happens to fit our system very well), it would also mean that our biggest rival does NOT get one of the best RBs in this class. Furthermore, convincing yet another top-tier Ohio committed player to come to Michigan would further add fuel to the Hoke-a-mania fire, while simultaneously delivering another punch in the gut to That School Down South.
Sign me up for both, but if I had to pick between the two, I'd rule slightly in favor of Dunn.

8-4 with a bowl win before the season. I'm now revising my prediction to 9-3 with a bowl loss. I think we drop two of our remaining three on the road and one of either Nebraska or Ohio. Either way, I think we end up 9-4.
Of course, I hope we beat everybody to a Minnesota-like pulp and end up 14-0.
|2 years 39 weeks ago||Both! But if I were to pick||
Both! But if I were to pick one, for our current WR situation, it'd be Payton. He appears more game ready and we need contributions from our WRs right away. If this were three years from now after we've established a stable pipeline of WRs for our current system, then I'd go with Darboh.
I really hope we get both of them this year and then extend a signing day offer to Treadwell!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Mark Hollis knows the proper use of "you're" and "your", but had to purposely misuse "your" in his last statement so the Sparty fanbase could understand what he was saying.

|2 years 45 weeks ago||B1G championship game in 2013||
B1G championship game in 2013 and a defense that holds opponents to 20 ppg or less. Favorites to win the B1G from 2014 onwards. One key will be for people not to freak out if we post a similar (or worse) record in 2012 vs. 2011. Our 2012 schedule looks pretty brutal (Alabama, @ND, @Nebraska, @Ohio) while our 2011 schedule doesn't look too bad.
