just what the Pistons need: a third string center. Joe Dumars was replaced by a mean ol' alien a few years back you guys.

may or not be a good idea. sometimes it's better to be general. then, when you have a potential lead, tailor your skills and job needs to that position. |

the tigers are 4 1/2 games in first. |

DD is doing the right thing in waiting to get a top notch closer. why pay a guy for all of 2013 when you can win the division as is. get the closer at or after the trade deadline. if it's papelbon, you save 2/3 of that $13M salary for 2013. and he's been one of the most consistent closers in the game the last 5 years. i wouldn't mind having him around 2 more. i don't think illich would mind either. |

Must be some casey close influence there. |

common courtesy. plus, you never know if your paths may cross again (ie. in the nfl or college all star game). |

don't just base it on 50+ games this year. cabrera, fielder, jackson and hunter are clearly better offensively. Vmart is vastly better historically and will likely do better going forward. i would even consider dirks better offensively. peralta and infante would be a near push. |

I saw him when I was a kid. His right arm was twice the size as his left. He would strike guys out pitching from 2b and behind his back. He had a c, 1b, ss, and of only. One guy hit a triple but that was it; only cuz one of. |

there are multiple venues which have multiple bowl games each season. |

freshmen games were the worst. do you let them play and hack each other to death? or call it close, where eventually, every player fouls out? |
| 5 weeks 3 days ago | my two cents |
If you have 5* or high 4*, you take that commit regardless of needs or position. Because they must be great athletes, they may be able to play another position anyway. How often do you see position switches ? A lot. Oline and Dline are prime examples. |

i have a few iowa friends and i told them at the beginning of the year that they would just miss the big dance; similar to northwestern the past few years. that said, i thought minny would be a sleeper and picked them to finish 3rd in the BIG. so i'm not always right. thanks tubby. |

"Without the students, there are no football players" have you watched ohio state?? |
| 7 weeks 1 day ago | The 25% no show and 50% late sentence is poorly written. |
it could simply mean that 25% of the students missed at least one game; not necessarily 25% missing each game. similarly, 50% could be late to at least one game. i really doubt 50% were late every game. i attended all but one game this past year. it was common for a few rows near the top in the corner to be unfilled, but i don't think that represents 25% of the student seats. |
| 7 weeks 1 day ago | well |
wrigley field bleachers are general admission. you get funneled into either LF or RF. i don't see any chaos in finding seats. the people who want the best seats show up a couple hours early. the chaos usually starts around the 5th inning, once the beers kick in. |
| 8 weeks 5 days ago | hand checking |
my rule change would be to disallow any handchecking outside of the 3 pt circle. I don't mind allowing big guys to lean on each other in the paint. contact there should be allowed. but allowing defensive players to drive their forearms into the ribcage of the point guard 40 feet from the basket has got to change. defenders can literally push point guards away from the center of the court w/o penalty. i also like the 30 sec shot clock rule, if it is coupled with a rule i noted above. it would reward good defense w/o all the BS mugging. |

no coneys until one opened on the northside (Leo's). same family ownership as detroit area. it failed after less than two years. i couldn't believe it with the large mich population here. they had a liquor license though, which probably ate into their margin. i doubt many ordered beer/drinks while at Leo's. i loved it though. very quick service and reasonably priced. hope another opens up soon. |

we typically get the opportunity to buy tix (home and away) to the less sought after games. |

ryan injured his knee his senior year of high school. so a redshirt was likely anyway. |

in proving whether or not a kid is ready after acl surgery. some come back after 8 months. some never make it back. |
| 9 weeks 2 days ago | well |
i think there could be a debate. it depends on how the season is going. if the season is going ok and jake is at or near 100% by the sparty game on nov 2, i would play him. otherwise, it makes more sense to redshirt him. |
| 9 weeks 6 days ago | no way |
Its one thing ro sit him a few minutes but to sit the best player in the country for 12 min in the 1H is just plain dumb. JB will regret that decision the rest of his career. I can't imagine kobe or jordan sitting for such a stretch under any circumstances. |
| 10 weeks 4 days ago | GRIII > THJ |
really? GRIII could have bigger upside but THJ has proven to be much more valuable this year. I would expect his 2013-14 scoring to improve significantly next year if he stays. He's a legit #1 scoring option. I'm not so sure about GRIII. the good news is that our incoming freshmen could easily start right away if needed. |

the lions next kicker will be their 3rd since 1980. how crazy is that. something like this will never happen again. |
| 10 weeks 5 days ago | So |
uh, coke came in to face morneau and doumit to end the game monday after benoit pitched to willingham (a righty). yes, coke had a very good 10 IP in the post season last year. but i place much more emphasis on the 200+ IP he's had in relief over his career. leyland actually played the matchups correctly on monday. he failed today. |
| 10 weeks 5 days ago | what's that sample size? 8-10 ABs? |
righties hit almost .400 off coke last year and well over .300 the year before. he's had decent success against lefties the past two years .260ish and .210ish. meanwhile lefties hit marginally better of benoit than righties the past two years combined. and righties have his under .200 off dotel the past two years. bullpen by committee means making the right decisions concerning matchups. |
| 10 weeks 5 days ago | oh leyland |
you managed the bullpen assbackwards. he had benoit face lefties like mauer and morneau (luckily no damage) in the eighth. Then he has coke face two righties in the ninth and loses. coke should have pitched the eighth and benoit or dotel the ninth. this one is on leyland. |

did yost and schembechler graduate from UM? they have buildings and stadiums named after them. yet, great players can't be memorialized w/o a degree? seems a silly argument to me. |
