i think zak can replace GR3. caris can approximate nik. we need kam to be a decent version of this year's caris. factor in walton improvement and hopefully mcgary and we have a very good team again. if donnal improves throughout the year, he, horford and spike provide good depth.
i have faith in beilein and the sophomore leaps.

i don't mind UM being in the kansas region now.
|3 hours 25 min ago||exactly||
JB will get consideration. miles won't even be on the radar.
likely the wichita coach, imo.
|3 hours 28 min ago||and||
if you watched that Neb early in the season, you would have known they were not a cellar dweller, but that's on you. i got crap from a sparty fan early in the year about our close road win against them. i said, look out, they are better than you think. and they bit sparty in the ass. it wasn't a big surprise to me.
do yourself a favor and look at all of the past COYs. there are no "miles" types on the list. you need to win the BIG, or be close, to get COY. this vote was a joke. JB should have been unanimous.
|3 hours 32 min ago||BS||
miles did a great job. but to the victor goes the spoils. UM won the BIG by 3 games. hasn't been done this millenium. and they were not picked by anyone to win the BIG. no one gave them any chance after mcgary got hurt. most said 10-8 at best.
Neb won 5 BIG games last year with basically 4 starters returning plus petteway.
so don't preach to me. beilein didn't get a sniff 4 years ago when he finished 4th in the BIG when most picked UM 10th or worst.
so take your BS elsewhere.
|3 hours 46 min ago||i like it||
i think he will be a bigger version of caris, but a better passer. (no fred jackson intended).
|3 hours 49 min ago||sorry||
i get the fact that Neb had a good year and likely a ncaa tourny bid. but they lost to Umass, UAB and UM by 29 pts. the COY award was beilein's and beilien's alone. the UM team a few years ago was more impressive, winning a BIG title with a 6'4" power forward. but that's just me i guess.
the fact that this is beilein's first BIG COY ( and it's shared) is an absolute joke to me.
|11 hours 10 min ago||i dont get the naysayers here||
If he is healthy enough, he isna huge asset. Hell zetterberg had back surgery and is expected back in 8 weeks...and thats hockey. I doubt beilein takes any chances with his health.
|13 hours 40 min ago||you don't have to go that far back||
look at our FTs against Indiana. for the volume of FTs taken, it was one of the best efforts i've ever seen from UM.
|13 hours 45 min ago||really???||
how often have you seen GR3 miss around the rim? honestly, i think he's one of the best finishers i've ever seen at UM; not just dunking but his layups on the break against a defender are very good.
he just hasn't gone to the basket enough. it's not his ability to finish, imo.
|1 day 3 hours ago||well||
i would much rather face a potential #1 wichita in indy than arizona in LA.
|1 day 3 hours ago||Wrong!||
A #2 seed in the midwest would be huge. This wisky loss may have clinched it.
|1 day 4 hours ago||Yes!||
Im liking this.
|1 day 5 hours ago||Go Nebraska!!||
A wisky loss means a #2 midwest seed with a #1 Wichita seed. Me likey.
|2 days 8 hours ago||wisky||
the key is to get the seed over wisky. that way, we are likely to stay in the midwest over them; milwaukee then indianapolis.
|5 days 57 min ago||he certainly did||
he complained about every foul called against him.

weber was clean. calipari not so much.
it's true illinois should get some chicago players but champaign is about 140 miles from chicago. madison is almost as close. northwestern is closer. south bend much closer. marquette is closer. purdue is closer.
peoria is in illini backyard, hence the long-time pipline from there.
|1 week 1 day ago||youre kidding right?||
Calipari goes after one and dones. If you are a one and done would you go for a system coach like beilein or a freelance guy like calipari...plus cash. Easy choice.

amaker had 6 years. SIX. and never made the dance. imo, he deserved at least 4 but should have been can a couple years earlier. i guarantee beilein makes at least 3 ncaa tournys if he coached amakers teams. amaker was a better coach than ellerbe but that was a low bar.

|1 week 2 days ago||spike!!!||
keepin it alive
|1 week 2 days ago||GR3||
no reason why you can't give this effort all year. no excuse for not getting more rebounds like that. keep that up.
|1 week 2 days ago||doubt it||
i think it's nik, harris, pettaway, marble and payne. with some distance before the next guys.
|1 week 2 days ago||oh my||
now horford fumbles.
|1 week 2 days ago||morgan||
fumbles yet again.
