As an alum it seems pretty "meh"...but it also makes me smile as I'm reminded of my freshman year when my dad kept yelling "RUN CHICKENSHIT RUN!" when Lester kept throwing the ball away instead of taking the 5-10 yards the defense was giving him all game. Ahhh, my classy father.
For some reason I can't "reply" while using the app. Anyway, I realize Fleck will leave, I'm just saying that I wish he wouldn't. Not that my opinion matters.
As someone said below - the hope is that he leaves the program in good enough shape to sustain success.
Either way, I just selfishly want to see Fleck stay at WMU. It would be great to see him turn Western into a perennial power in the MAC (and the state of Michigan).
My mother died in 2006, six weeks after my first child (a daughter) was born. My mom flew out to DC to be with us for the birth of her first grandchild. She was in the L&D room the whole time, kicking me out at points and taking charge a couple of times because she used to be a nurse (retired due to her illness).
In hindsight, it really was amazing all she was able to do during that time knowing that her body was riddled with cancer.
She was 52 when she died and we have missed her at every family even since her passing.
Lesson: A day of discomfort for a colonoscopy is not nearly as bad as losing your life to cancer.
Regardless of your feelings about Congress, I would urge your friend to contact their U.S. Representative and their U.S. Senator. Their district offices handle these issues often - I know that we dealt with VA and Military benefits a lot when I worked there.
I remember reading/hearing last year that Fleck felt WMU was a "destination job". I know that's likely just coach-speak type PR but as an alum, it was nice to hear.
That being said, I think he needs to show sustained improvement for a few years before he's a realistic candidate for a job at a larger university.
One thing that I really like about this year's WMU team is that they seem to have gotten better each week. Also, you have to love the development of true freshman RB Jarvion Franklin.
It is amazing how utterly bad this seemingly talented bunch is. They are a collection of 4-5 star players who are continually out-classed. I mean, there is no way that all of the recruiting services overrated every single player in several consecutive years.
Where is the original thread on this? I remember reading something about this and it didn't seem to jive with reality. I also think I missed Brian posting it on the main page too.

The clock management was really a head-scratcher. It's as if they didn't realize it was the 4th Quarter on that last drive.
