How insightful. How insightful.
Well, he CAN, but something Well, he CAN, but something tells me that he'd have to prove something to Beilein/the team before he did again. He did quit. Also, he'd have to change his playing style (ie, he'd need to play defense), which is something he seemed somewhat reluctant to do last year.
Well, there is a difference Well, there is a difference between saying "Lauranitis wasn't all that" and "Lauranitis is garbage". He wasn't one of the 5 best LB's in college football, which is the way he was treated. He was perfectly good, and he would have been Michigan's best LB by a long shot last year. I think they'll have a hard time find a replacement that will play to the same level starting next year.
There is no objective way to There is no objective way to claim that Boise State wasn't as good.
agreed. agreed.
1. OSU is gonna pass it way 1. OSU is gonna pass it way more. They hardly passed this year, so that seems plausible. beanie is a loss, but he's replaceable. Ehhh...sketchy. At least the hurt, gimpy version they had for much of last year is replaceable. 2 lauranitias wasn't all that great Agreed. 3 hartline is garbage for OSU Not garbage, but not all that. 4 jenkins was the best in a while at OSU Agreed. 5osu lost 1 shitty linemen who got arrested Agreed. 6 osu gained an all-big ten linemen from scUM Entirely plausible. 7 osu's line will be better. Given #5 and #6, I buy it. 8 wr's are faster and better This seems entirely plausible. Their receivers weren't that grat. 9 dline is better They only lost 1 D lineman, and his replacement was a 5-star. That's plausible. 10 lb's are better I disagree with this. osu goes 12-0,11-1, or 10-2. 10-2 seems likely to me. usc, penn state ummm goes 5-7, 6-6, or 7-5. Entirely reasonable.
Most of it seems pretty Most of it seems pretty sensible.
Are his offers to play hoop Are his offers to play hoop slim so he's backpedalling?? This would appear to be true.
Or how about we stop Or how about we stop obsessing about every little $158 infraction? This was reported to the NCAA, and resolved. It's over. No program, including ours, is 100% clean. Lets stop shrieking about an impossibly small transgression - it makes it seem like we're trying to rationalize getting our ass handed to us for 5 consecutive years.
Joe Daniels appears to Joe Daniels appears to recruit PA and OH. In other words, it could be any freshman from one of the two states.
I'm not really trying to say I'm not really trying to say we're worse (or they're worse) - I think that they are two largely different things, both of which were extremely unethical.
You've ducked it twice now. You've ducked it twice now. Explain how he found out that Martin bought Louis Bullock's parents a set of plane tickets, made Bullock give them back, but never: a) reported them b) cut of Martin's access to the team Please.
I guess we're one step closer I guess we're one step closer to becoming a board where people make their signatures Maxim girls with Maize and Blue bikinis photo-shopped on. Rivals board, here we come.
Tater once again proves Tater once again proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that his moral compass is pointing south.
He knew that Martin bought He knew that Martin bought Bullock plane tickets, because he made Bullock give them back. But he never reported the incident, and never took Martin's access away after the incident. Being a good person in everyday life doesn't mean he did the right thing in his professional life.
I was at Michigan during I was at Michigan during Fischer's reign. He knew that Martin was buying Bullock's family airlines tickets (he stopped him on one occassion) but still didn't remove Martin's access to the program. Open your eyes.
Nice how the writer was Nice how the writer was trying to gin up some conflict between RR and Bill Martin without a speck of evidence to support it. Par for the course at that site.
Oh god I hope this is Oh god I hope this is sarcasm.
OK.
She's a George H. W. Bush
OK. She's a George H. W. Bush federal appointee. She has voted with Republican judges more often than she ohas voted with Democratic judges. In the one abortion-issues case she has sat on, she voted on the "pro-life" side. On the firefighters case, she upheld 2nd Circuit Court precedent. I'm not saying she was right, but that's hardly "activist". You're looking at a single decision and assuming it was made for one of a myriad of issues.
I know for a fact that the I know for a fact that the lacrosse team doesn't practice more than three times a week. Read their own website. Three evenings of practice per week in the fall plus occasional early morning conditioning and three strength training sessions a week http://www.umich.edu/~menslax/information.htm
According to Orrin Hatch, who According to Orrin Hatch, who is opposed to everything Obama stands for politically and in ideology. Hatch wants to scare people into thinking that "empathatic" means "will kill babies". Further, I imagine that her decision (if she wrote the decision? Clearly other federal judges had to side with her - it's a panel of 3 judges) rested in law? Like she used law to back up her point? I'm not a lawyer, so I wouldn't know what laws relate to the case, but I would know enough to research them before I implied that her decision was based on "all I vote on are racial lines".
I don't think you'll find the I don't think you'll find the full game anywhere, but often, mflowblue.blogspot.com has game highlights up sometime after the game (they aren't there yet).
This.
The second I listen to
This. The second I listen to a chuckle-head on a message-board tell me I'm not a "Michigan Man" for some insane reason of their own creation like "Michigan men don't cheer for Michigan State in the NCAA Finals!" is the second I let the idiots win.
Lete me preface by saying Lete me preface by saying that I don't listen to Cowherd, and all I hear about him confirms that I shouldn't. That said, I think you're missing the point. His point is that a drunk driver doesn't intend to harm someone. A drunk driver is making a stupid, horrible decision that may harm someone else. Making two dogs fight, or, to his analogy, molesting a child, requires a desire and willingness to harm another being. Thus, the difference in the mindsets.
This thread is stocked with This thread is stocked with by people with only a small, faint, glimmering hint of knowledge about the NBA: 1. Oden should not have stayed in school longer. He as drafted 1st over one of the most heralded prospects in history (Durant). He could have improved his stock no more. He wouldn't have been coached better - do you really think Matta is a better coach than Nate McMillan and an NBA staff? Ohio State fans don't even think that. 2. It's too early. He hasn't been a failure for two seasons. He's been extremely foul-prone for one. He missed a year due to injury. And he's not Darko. Darko played nothing but garbage time for 3 years, and had been a BACKUP for a lower division European team. Oden was the best player on the 2nd best team in college basketball. He had a track record of success, Darko didn't. Again: At this point Darko couldn't crack a rotation, Oden averaged 9 points and 7 boards in 21 minutes a game. 3. He had microfracture surgery LAST YEAR. Even the most successful cases, like Amare Stoudemire, take more than a full year to come back from it. Others, like Antonio McDyess, come back but aren't the same player. Others, like Gilbert Arenas, never come back.
Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge = fucking up the draft?
Thunderstruck = Chicago White Thunderstruck = Chicago White Sox
Hell Bells = Trevor Hell Bells = Trevor Hoffman Enter Sandman = Va Tech, Mariano Rivera
I've liked lots of Penn I've liked lots of Penn State's players. Arrington was one of the best college players I've seen.
Thank you for making my Thank you for making my point.
The funny thing is that The funny thing is that despite the massive job loss in Michigan, Alabama's average income is STILL $10,000 lower than Michigan's.
If you are not winning If you are not winning National Titles like Alabama you are wasting your time. "Vince Lombardi" after Coach Bryant had won his THIRD National Championship in 1965. So is Alabama wasting their time? They haven't won a championship in 30 years.
Doesn't make sense for the Doesn't make sense for the teams currently on varsity to coast while obvious up-and-comers get the shaft. Are you kidding me? Do you have any idea how much time those kids dedicate to their sports? As someone who played one, let me tell you: about 6 hours a day in-season and about 3-4 hours a day out of season. That's not including road trips, mandated study hours, and uh, class. Club sports practice three days a week - the time commitment, while not insubstantial (I'm by no means trying to denigrate their effort, merely pointing out a difference) is not nearly as great. I think Lacrosse should go Varsity, and I think that, in a few years, it's almost inevitable. But jesus, that last statement was full of ignorance.
Why would more people stay at Why would more people stay at hotels? They'd just stay on Saturday instead of Friday. More time to buy food? The game starts at 8 eastern - if anything that would cut into the dinner rush in town - tons of people go into town to eat after earlier games.
David is also the pint-sized, David is also the pint-sized, kick-ass faceoff specialist on the team.
You're 25 and still at EMU, You're 25 and still at EMU, and working at Jimmy John's?
Vanderbilt is residential? I Vanderbilt is residential? I lived in Nashville for 3 years. Anyway, do you think that a half-full stadium with a capacity of 50,000 is relevant to us? Ben Hill Griffin Stadium is surrounded by campus buildings. You're making things up.
BECAUSE OTHER SCHOOLS DON'T BECAUSE OTHER SCHOOLS DON'T HAVE STADIUMS IN THE CENTER OF RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS. Holy fuck, stop.
That's generally why Doctors That's generally why Doctors make lots of money, yes.
You clearly don't understand You clearly don't understand why there aren't night games: it has nothing to do with "arrogance". It has to do with poor stadium outlet and the people who live around the stadium not wanting an even containing 110,000+ people going on in their backyard until 11 PM. Stop being a fucking idiot, and drop it.
It does mean something. It It does mean something. It means that you're from a place that cant teach people to read, and generally puts them into careers where they fail (lower median income by $10,000). You went to an auto-entry Rubber-Stamp-Factory. Which means that your inability to understand a basic argument makes perfect sense.
You're making up LOTS of shit You're making up LOTS of shit here. The poster doesn't want to sit because he "uses tickets as a status symbol" or "thinks he's better than anyone". He wants to sit because he has arhtritic knees and standing HURTS. By your definition of "arogant" (which I'm going to heretofore spell with 1 r, because it's not the same as the actual word), aren't you "arogant" because you think that you standing is more important than his physical comfort? By the way, can you make me a Turkey Tom when you get into work? I prefer you go light on the sprouts.
Define Humor Is it when someone with a massive chip on their shoulder about the intellectual superiority that he thinks Michigan students unjustifiably feel over him demonstrates, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that he doesn't have a clue what the word "arrogance" means?
Aren't you telling HIM what Aren't you telling HIM what to do? You're telling him he can't sit. Drop the arrogance bit, you clearly don't understand what it means. As I said, if you weren't a completely ignorant person who uses words he doesn't understand, I'd have a harder time thinking you're a worse person than me. As it is, it's exceedingly easy.
There might be lots of There might be lots of negative things in this thread (people being assholes, people not caring about the comfort of others), but arrogance ain't one of them. If you stopped acting stupid, you'd make it harder to feel better than you.
Alabama signed a class of 25+ Alabama signed a class of 25+ when they had around 9 available scholarships.
Actually, no one can watch it Actually, no one can watch it because it's not very popular. Look, there's a reason why they were offered peanuts for their television deal compared to every other sport, why they're talking contraction, and why virtually every team was losing money - not enough people watch it.
that sort of talk really that sort of talk really helps elevate the level of discourse brian. Alabama illiteracy rate: 15% Michigan illiteracy rate: 7% University of Alabama National Ranking: #83 University of Michigan National Ranking: #26 University of Alabama acceptance rate: 64% University of Michigan acceptance rate: 50% Alabama High School Graduation rate: 62% Michigan High School Graduation Rate: 75% If he raised the level of discourse much higher, you wouldn't understand.
So, in summation:
If you're a
So, in summation: If you're a current Michigan student, I'd steer clear of Potbelly's or any other State Street eatery. There is an extremely angry EMU student spitting (or worse) in your Wreck.
"You are just dripping with "You are just dripping with empathy for you fellow man, aren't you?" Actually, I am, but you don't know me, so you have no way of knowing whether or not I have any empathy at all. His point, which you don't seem to have gotten, is that your statement was completely lacking in empathy. One does not need to know you to see that, in your response, you lacked empathy.
