Clearly, you don’t follow our women’s basketball team and know nothing about Taylor Woodson.

100% agree. My wife and I are longtime season ticket holders, and we rant about this every game! We very rarely miss a game, but when we have to, it’s easy to give away our tickets to someone who is very eager to attend. It’s easier than ever with electronic transfer! There is no excuse for all the empty seats, especially in the lower bowl, game after game.

I’m hoping somebody who clicks on this thread might have info on Michele Sidor and Izabel Varajeo, as I haven’t seen anything official. Are they both redshirting? I know Michele was injured earlier in the year and doesn’t participate in warmups. Izabel, however, has been in uniform and warming up since Christmas, but has yet to get in a game. Sure seems like the team could have used her rebounding in the most recent game vs Indiana.

Dammit, accidentally posted before correcting and finishing. Great 70-55 win in front of 10,534 fans. Second game in a row with >10,000 fans! Team is now 15-3 overall and 5-2 in the B1G.

Yup, same here. I looked back for last year’s fulfillment email, and it was sent at 5:02pm on  Sunday. Looking forward to seeing another huge and enthusiastic Michigan contingent in Indy on Saturday!

The lower bowl was probably half full by the time the event started. The biggest surprise to me was that Will Tschetter owned the three-point shooting contest, beating Duke transfer Joey Baker in the finals.

I have season tickets for mens and womens basketball and attend all the games. You will not be allowed to enter Crisler without showing your vax card or a recent (<72 hours) negative COVID test from a medical professional. I have seen this policy enforced multiple times at the entrance.

I’ll be there! I keep…

I’ll be there! I keep evangelizing that women’s basketball is the best value in Michigan sports. Great team, cheap tickets, and free parking. Looking forward to a full lower bowl and watching Michigan retake first place on their quest to win their first-ever B1G championship. Go Blue!

I think this is a good…

I think this is a good question, OP, as I have wondered the same thing. My wife and I live 45 miles away and attend almost every game. Full disclosure: we are retired, so we don’t have work or kid obligations.

What bothers us is seeing so many lower bowl seats go unused game after game, even for the weekend and earlier weeknight games. Those are all paid-for season tickets! If people aren’t going to use them for a particular game, we wish they would sell or give them to somebody who would attend. It seems crazy to not at least fill the lower bowl for a program that has had so much success over the past decade. We wonder if this is because Dave Brandon sold a lot of these seats as “corporate” tickets rather than to individuals.

After Kim Barnes-Arico had her best season ever at Michigan last year, all three of her assistant coaches left the program for new opportunities. It was a price of success. Now, she is having an even better year!

I know it’s far from a perfect analogy, but I thought I would point that out to those who are freaking out about coaching turnover in the football program.

It’s interesting that you trust Bacon much more than Webb, when Bacon frequently retweets Webb while saying things like “as usual, you are spot on.”

I’ll keep pumping my promo for women’s hoops — they are the best value in Michigan sports.  It only costs $50 for a season ticket to watch our top ten team, and you get free parking very close to the entrance at Crisler!

My dad was the son (one of…

My dad was the son (one of seven children) of Polish immigrants and very smart, but he grew up during the Great Depression, so there was never any thought about him going to college. He enlisted in the army, fought in WWII for 19 months all across Europe, and then came home to work in a factory. I was his fourth (of six) children and a very bright kid, so he decided when I was about five years old that I would be the first person in my family to go to college.

When I was 13, an MSU uncle from my mom’s side used some corporate tickets to take my dad and me to the 1971 Iowa game in Michigan Stadium, which the Wolverines won 63-7. There were more people in the stadium than lived in my whole county! It was an amazing atmosphere! I decided right then and there that I would go to Michigan, completely naive about the challenging admission standards. It was the only school to which I applied.

I ended up getting my bachelor’s degree, and then marrying my wife (who I met at U of M) three weeks later. We stayed straight through at U of M and both got master’s degrees. We ended up having two daughters who both went to U of M and who both married M grads.

Thank you to my sparty uncle for introducing me to Meeeechigan!

I love your story! I am a young grandpa, and my wife and I have been hosting a tailgate for many years on Hoover Street, which sees most of the students flow by on their way to the  game. You and your grandpa are welcome to join us, and I could reserve a parking spot for you there at a much lower cost than the golf course or Pioneer. Plus, we have bathroom privileges.  If you are interested, you can reach me at [email protected]

Although I have never been close to these seats for men’s basketball, I have enjoyed sitting in the front row of chairs on the court for women’s hoops and volleyball. They are on the opposite side of the floor from where the teams sit and are labeled Row A.

About three years ago I…

About three years ago I started having random but significant and increasingly frequent aches and sharp pains in my right knee, enough to make me slip on a brace when it would happen. My doctor diagnosed arthritis, and I got a cortisone shot directly in that knee. The needle was intimidatingly long but it really didn’t hurt any more than the momentary prick one gets from just about any other shot. It took a few days for the relief to kick in, but that knee has felt great since then!

Coach Kim has built a solid…

Coach Kim has built a solid program that is poised to go from very good to great this fall with her best recruiting class ever joining an outstanding nucleus of returnees. I encourage all who live locally to get season tickets. They are only $60 each for lower bowl seats!

My wife and I have had…

My wife and I have had season tickets for a few years. Just $60 each for a great seat in the lower bowl. So much talent coming back next year plus Coach Kim’s best recruiting class ever, including two five stars.

Outstanding value!

I was thinking there is no need to redshirt since this is a “free” year of eligibility for everyone due to COVID.

Go Blue!

I have seen Izabel Varejão…

I have seen Izabel Varejão on the sidelines the past 3-4 weeks, so she obviously finally made it back to campus from Brazil. It seems like she has been back long enough to get in at least decent game shape. I wonder if there is any chance she’ll play yet this season. Would be great to have another experienced big, especially if Naz and/or Hailey get in foul trouble.

I scoured social media and the internet and could find nothing.

I am an older guy who has…

I am an older guy who has had six season football tickets for decades and two season basketball tickets for several years. The payments for all those tickets plus seat licenses have moved me into the top 5% level of priority points in the Victors Club. In a normal year, I am easily able to buy a pair of tickets from the athletic department for Michigan’s first two games in the NCAA tournament and sit a few rows behind the bench. This year, I couldn’t come close to getting tickets, as the few allotted to Michigan were scooped up by the top one-percenters. BTW, those were nosebleed seats.

I’m guessing the few Michigan fans we saw today sitting in seats low enough to get them on TV were either player/coach family members/friends or paid significant $$$ to get tickets from the secondary market.

I was blessed to be standing…

I was blessed to be standing with my wife seven rows behind the Michigan bench wishing for a miracle when — IT HAPPENED!!! Since we are both in our 60’s, she was equally shocked when I lifted her up over my head and twirled her around in jubilation. It was one of those times when one didn’t want to leave the arena, just like the first night game at Michigan Stadium when we stunned Notre Dame.

Also, I had grown to hate Houston’s “man bun” over the previous two hours and was delighted to see him have a sad.

Yeah, I hear ya. These opening softball games are on BTN+ but it is bare minimum coverage with just a couple cameras and no announcers or graphics. You have to pay close attention if you wanna know how many outs, who’s on base, and the ball/strike count or even the damn score for that matter!

Ha! Well, I believe I am about 3X WD’s age!

One of the benefits of retirement is having the time to enjoy a lot of our very successful non-revenue sports teams.
