As an old guy, I would like to abolish national rankings. No playoffs, no National champion. Play for your conference championship, and then play in a Bowl game to represent your conference. Take away the perception that unless you win a national championship your season is a failure.
I took my daughter down there Saturday night. The Tigers were playing, there were shows at the Fox and Fillmore. Parking lots were packed, and there were people everywhere. The place was hopping.
I don't get to hang out with my UM friends often enough. MI football is when we get together, tailgate, watch the game, and then either celebrate or bitch and moan together afterwards. Still nothing like being inside the stadium on game day.
Where else can you discuss Michigan Football, get the latest Game of Thrones/Walking Dead update, and vent your Festivus Grievances, all while enjoying a Friday night "What are you drinking?" thread???
I think this is a worst case (hopefully) with the six wins indicated being locks. ND/MSU/Ill/Iowa are the big question marks. Could go 6-6, could go 10-2....

I have always felt that 3:30/night games should be reserved for the "Big Games" . Play the cupcakes at noon.
Plus, I have tickets to see RatDog the night of App St. so kind of needed the noon start.
Thanks DB!
The number of times MIchigan beat ND and went on to a National Title: 2
Number of times Michigan lost to ND and went on to a National Title: 0
If so they would have to move it to Tampa.

This thread made me curious as to the idea of a rematch and what that has meant historically. Did some looking around and this is what I found:
Game
Game 1 winner
Game 2 winner
Consequence
UF/FSU 1996
FSU
UF
UF-MNC
UF/Bama 1999
Bama
Bama
Bama loses to U-M in Orange Bowl
UF/Auburn 2000
UF
UF
UF loses to Miami in Sugar Bowl
OK/KSU 2000
OK
OK
OK beats FSU Orange MNC
OK/Colo 2002
OK
OK
OK beats Wash St Rose
OK/Missouri 2007
OK
OK
OK loses to WV in Fiesta
Bama/LSU 2011
LSU
Bama
Bama-MNC
FWIW 5 of 7 times the winner of the first game also takes the rematch, but both times the original loser wins, it's for all the marbles!
Lets compare these games to the chores on your honey-do list:
Alabama game: Like cleaning out the garage, it would be great to do but not the end of the world if you don't.
Ohio: Like painting the deck, a lot of work, but when its done it looks great and is something to enjoy for the rest of the year.
MSU: Pretty much the same as cleaning up after the dogs. No glory, but its something that needs to be done.
If Pioneer is bumping it's price to $50, then it's only fair we get an extra 3 hours tailgate time!
Kind of reminds me of a Walking Dead graphic novel.

Copied over to excel, I get:
