I have season tickets and I definitely received an email specifically stating the line started at 7 AM. They did the same thing for the Arizona game, and when I showed up at 6:45 to try and get in line I got kicked out of the parking lot and wasn't allowed to enter until 7. So today I didn't show up until 6:45 thinking they would handle it the same, but I saw that almost 300 people were already in line. I was frustrated to see that they let people line up before 7 since they didn't let me for the Arizona game. But in the end, I benefited from the whole situation. I went from being about 300th in line to about 100th since I jumped into the new line right away. So in the grand scheme of things I was happy that it worked out for me, but I definitely don't agree with how the maize rage handled it. If I were one of the kids in the front, I would have been pissed. We just need to be allowed to line up whenever we want. We're adults and can make our own decisions on how long we want to wait in the cold to watch a game.

Students received an email saying lineup was at 7 AM. But still, what the athletic department did was not right. Having a designated time to where a line "officially starts" is absurd. It's just so the leaders of the maize rage don't have to wait in line all night. They make rules to make the gameday experience more convenient for them. Students should be allowed to lineup whenever they want. We get bitched at for showing up late to football, and threatened to get arrested for arriving too early for basketball. This is why the athletic department will receive no support from many future alumni.

The student interest has grown, but outside of the student section the interest still isn't there. There's a lot of empty seats and not much noise coming from places other than the student section. Students should be alloted more seats near the court until we actually have other dedicated fans showing up to every game. The atmosphere at Crisler can be great as we've seen for the Indiana, Ohio State, and Kansas games the last few years, but it's only the big games where Crisler has a big home court advantage. You look at the Breslin and they have a great crowd no matter who they're playing. Michigan isn't to that level quite yet. We're getting there, but in the mean time the students need to have more seats near the court to have a significant home court advantage because the rest of the fans just aren't cutting it as of right now in my opinion.

I can barely afford tickets the way it is. I go to this great institution but I don't receive much financial help. If tickets were raised to what everyone else pays, there is no way I could afford it. But "general admission" is not the answer. When we had assigned seats, I was always in the stadium early. I love watching the team warm up, watching the country's best marching band, and watching all those winged helmets running out of the tunnel and slapping the banner. But now with this new policy, you don't have a choice where to sit. They have been assigning seats and packing people in. Being someone who wants a good perspective on the game (section 26 row 40 to 50) I need to show up near kickoff. It's really unfortunate. Growing up I always knew I would go to U of M and then after graduation I would donate to the athletic department to support our teams. But after my experience with Dave Brandon as AD, I won't ever send in a penny while he's there (and I know other students with the same POV). I have been a loyal fan and have attended games my whole life in the big house and on the road. It's a shame that DB has caused many great fans to lose their desire to support Michigan Athletics. Every game I attend in the future I'll just buy my tickets off of stubhub or some other secondary market.
Also, I can't wait to see how everything goes this basketball season. I'm sure it will all work out, and everyone will be happy. /s

This is my senior year at U of M and have attended nearly every game since I arrived on campus. My freshman year I was one of the few people in the whole arena (not just student section) at tipoff every game. The number of games I have missed through my first 3 years can easily be counted on one hand, and the games I missed were due to reasons that were more important than sports. I am in the bleachers early for every game, sat in the front 2 rows at the final four and national championship, and am a big time Michigan sports fan. The main problem I have with this is the athletic department needs to understand that sometimes it's not possible to attend every game. What if one of the most dedicated student fans gets really ill, or has some form of family emergency where they miss two games in one week and has to miss the Indiana game this year? Or get shitty seats to the state game? My point is some things in life are bigger than sports, and having to miss games in the past due to these things myself, I will feel terrible for myself and others if they have to miss out on Michigan sporting events because the athletic department screws us over.
To all of you bitching and complaining, and saying students can stop whining and need to just show up, need to tell that to the students who aren't the dedicated fans. The dedicated ones are there every night cheering on the maize and blue that we all have grown to love, and now we have the possibility of getting screwed out of tickets because other students don't care as much as we do. How would you feel as a michigan football season ticket holder who has attended nearly every game for 30 years if the athletic department gave your ticket to a game to somebody else because you couldn't show up the previous week? I bet not very well.

I'm taking Tiger this weekend as well. He loves the course and he's finally in control of his game again. If he putts like he has the past 2 tournaments, he will win.

The sleeves were given out to every student on Saturday along with a pair of glasses. Then on Monday they gave every student a head band and final four towel. I didn't bring my sleeves home, but a couple of my housemates did.

I went to more than 11 games this season and have yet to receive an email. Anxiously waiting for it to come through so I can buy my ticket!
|1 year 3 weeks ago||Floor level||
If you look at the floor below, there is a lot of floor space at each end of the court. I believe this is where all of the students stand. It sucks for people who get there late because there is no bleachers that angle up to help you see over the people in front of you. The floor is raised though so the people standing in the back can still see the action somewhat.
You can kind of see what I'm talking about in this picture..

"Late last night, you were notified via email regarding NCAA Tournament Final Four ticket ordering information.
Today (Monday, April 1), Michigan Basketball Student Season Ticket Holders who attended eleven (11) or more home games this season will have priority access to purchase one NCAA Tournament Final Four ticket. The NCAA offers seven-hundred (700) specially priced $40 Floor-Level student tickets to each participating school. If Michigan advances to the National Championship, one (1) ticket will be provided at no additional cost to each of the seven-hundred (700) students.
Michigan Basketball Student Season Ticket Holders who attended eleven (11) or more home games this season will have priority access to purchase one NCAA Tournament Final Four ticket.
Starting tomorrow (Tuesday, April 2), if NCAA Tournament Final Four Floor-Level student tickets remain, the next priority group of Michigan Basketball Student Season Ticket Holders will be notified to purchase Floor-Level student tickets, if available.
NCAA Tournament Final Four Floor-Level student ticket ordering information will be sent from the NCAA, not Michigan Athletics.
Please note the NCAA has extremely strict ID policies in place for all Floor-Level student tickets, and they are non-transferable. If you do not personally plan to attend, do not purchase a ticket."
It doesn't sound like your friend would be able to use it.

Before Trey hit that shot, Elijah Johnson was shooting the 1 and 1 and they showed his stats that he is about a 75% free throw shooter and that he was 3 for 3 on the night. I looked at my dad and said, "stats say he is due to miss this next free throw, then Trey is going to hit a three and we will win in overtime." Well, he missed, and we all know what happened after that. When that shot dropped I jumped in the air, yelled at the top of my lungs in disbelief, and gave my dad the biggest hug. That will be one of those moments that I will never forget for the rest of my life. Hopefully I have a couple more great moments this weekend. Atlanta bound on Friday!

Yes the officiating was bad, but it's not the reason we lost. We shouldn't have been in the position where officials could change the outcome of the game. When you're playing a team who hasn't won a conference game all year and you're in the top 5, you should be up by 15+ points at the end of the game regardless of the officiating. Maybe we should try playing good defense for once before we start blaming officials.
|1 year 8 weeks ago||Just embarrassing||
This team just doesn't know how to play defense, and Tim and Trey are the only two guys on the team that truly care about winning and giving everything they have on a nightly basis. We are a top 20 team at best, and the way we are playing right now, we'll be lucky to win a game the rest of the year. It was nice thinking we were actually a good team about a month ago. It was fun while it lasted. Just to make it clear, I'm not giving up on this team, just stating what I believe based on what I've seen out of these players in the past month. I hope they prove me wrong and make a strong run in March.
