the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

Watching Sergio on 17 reminded me of Tin Cup. I was waiting for him to just stick his hand out to get another ball from his caddy. |

| 25 weeks 4 days ago | I too am surprised |
Surprised that Compher didn't drop since he has been off ice since his concussion. He is supposed to see his first game action after Thanksgiving. He is a good player and makes others around him better. Tyler Motte's production is down with Compher out. When Compher gets back Motte's goals and assists will increase...same goes for Allen. I went to the Dubuque game to see Downing play but he didn't play that day. In any case, Michigan will still do well with this class from the USHL. |
| 26 weeks 2 days ago | Brandon has already begun to address the problem |
Every ticket is scanned and tracked. The AD know which student ticket was validated for re-sale, which ticket went unused and for which game(s). There continues to be a waiting list to be eligible for tickets. There is an annual $25 fee charged to remain on this list. The University is making money either way. Also, since the tickets were already paid for, the University can't force someone to use their ticket after it has been purchased. They can regulate how it is used (resold) but they are powerless if you chose to wallpaper your bathroom with the unused tickets. The main issue here is our legacy of having the largest crowd viewing a football game anywhere in america. This is about maintaining the streak of over 100,000 in attendance each home game. With growing apathy from students this is at risk. It is also better for TV viewers (regardless of which network) to see a packed house. As more games are televised, this also affects recruiting. Who wants to go to a school where the students don't even show up to the game? Brandon needs to trim the student section. Additonally, did you know that sutdents from U of M Dearborn and U of M Flint are eligible to purchase football tickets? Those on the waiting list should come before students at a campus that is not even considered a satellite campus. Now get of my effing lawn. |
| 26 weeks 3 days ago | I think it's time to bring in Thatcher Demko. |
Thatcher, the USA U-18 goalie played ND to an overtime tie and although he eventually lost in a shootout, held ND scoreless through 2 1/2 periods. Outstanding young goalie and should be on Red's radar. He also beat University of MInnesota and was named the outstanding player for the four nations tournament that just won against the U-18's from Sweden, Switzerland and Finland. |
| 38 weeks 2 days ago | I've been audited 3 times |
I own my own business. I have had my personal returns audited twice and my business returns audited once. I guess in reality, my business was audited 3 times since the K-1 from the business was part of the personal return. My only advice is " Buclke Up" IRS was not easy to work with. Of the three audits over a 5 year period my accountant was overly aggressive on mortagage interest deductions on the first return only. I got hit with the difference and a fairly hefty penalty. Since I had an accountant, I had him take care of things as my representative with the IRS (but then also part of the penalty). There were no findings on subsequent audits. Since my initial audit I have received so many letters of inquiry that I am sick of the IRS. All the audit did was put me squarely on their radar. As Doug Karsh says "best-a-luck" |
| 46 weeks 2 days ago | Connor Carrick |
Young athletes are all the same. They do what they do because they love it AND if they're good enough they have a chance to get paid to do it for a living. I know Connor personally. I have billetted for USA Hockey and I know all the guys. To the man, they would all like to play pro hockey. The OHL is a legitimate way for them to get a lot of ice time and make the move to the NHL. If there was a system like this for football, you would see guys skipping college like crazy. Connor was an honor student at Pioneer while taking AP classes and not the easier load like some others. He qualifies for admission to U of M with or without athletics. Connor is a quality guy from a great family. When I last talked to him he was very excited about playing for Michigan and couldn't wait. His decision to go to the OHL was only after the draft. If you've lived with these guys you would see how much time and effort each one puts in. For some, opportunity only comes knocking once. I know this was a terribly difficult decision for him. I love Michigan Hockey but if this is the best thing for Connor, then I support him 100%.

| 1 year 11 weeks ago | I hope you all know that the |
I hope you all know that the same thing is going to happen to Yost. As soon as the season ends they will be doing renovations to the seating. There will be Loge boxes and the current "club seats" will be changed. There will be a PSD for seating. I am a member of the Victor's Club, I am in the President's club, and I have club seats in football and hockey. I go to games. Many don't, and one can find the club hockey seats mostly vacant despite the fact that they are "sold out". What the University needs to do is to have a way for people to tell them they will not be going to the game and those tickets can be released for re-sale. Since the tickets are "dontated" back to the University for re-sale, we could even get a tax donation out of it for whatever the ticket is sold for. I would gladly do this rather than putting them on stu hub. I would rather see the box office open an hour before the game to release the tickets for the game for public/student purchase. I think that would be fair. No one will change the fact that those who give the most money will have the most access and best seats. What can change is how to keep those seats from being empty. |

No, don't post it on a VT blog or fan page. That would be douchey. That is something I would expect from someone else's fan base, not ours. Team 132 has been a class act. Lets not ruin it. |

| 1 year 28 weeks ago | I was listening to WTKA |
I was listening to WTKA yesterday afternoon and they said that Mitch asked the schools to give him some space so he could make the decision. He wanted last weekend to be free of recruiters. Only one of the three schools did what he wanted. Michigan. From that, Michigan is probably pretty comfortable with where they are, and are at least showing that if a recruit says "back off" that they listen. It's nice to start a player-coach relationship when you know your coach listens to you. Go Blue Mitch!! |
| 1 year 28 weeks ago | Hey |
Hey. Every weekend I try to cut the lawn of the Big House and these kids are running all over it. And then there's all this loud music. Damn It kids. Get off my lawn!! Stop all that loud music. If you want to watch me cut the grass just sit down and be quiet. |
| 1 year 30 weeks ago | True |
That may be true, but whoever drafts Trouba may decide that the higher level of play doesn't come in the NCAA, but in Canada. As for the competition that he is seeing with the NTDP, the U-18 team is probably one of, if not the best U-18 team that has played. They are loaded with talent, much of which is destined for Michigan. The U-17 team also has a couple of Michigan commits that are going to be a lot of fun to watch.

| 1 year 30 weeks ago | This isn't Molk's fault |
In my opinion, this is a problem of a lack of self-scouting. If Mattison watched game film of Michigan from previous MSU games and our first 6 games he would see what was going on and find a way to take advantage of it if he was playing against that offense. I have to assume that our defensive coordinator looks at our offense to see what he would do if he was playing against Michigan. If that was done we could have an offensive scheme, a backup if defensive corrections were made, and a backup for the backup. We have one of the best defensive minds in the sport. Why aren't we using him to pick apart OUR offense? It would only help the team to get better. |

Michigan Wins!!! 38 - 17. Persa out in the 3rd quarter. Denard has 150 yds rushing and 175 passing!!! |
| 1 year 33 weeks ago | I've been going to games for |
I've been going to games for 30+ years. In the early years, we would only get Temptation and Hawaiian War Chant on Homecoming games. The band would usually play Temptation first, and then announce, "since you can't have one without the other" and the fans would go crazy while Hawaiian War Chant was performed. So, in a quick answer to your question, No, the announcer didn't rip off Brian. |
| 1 year 34 weeks ago | To the OP |
Although I am over 50 year old, I will do my best to stay off your lawn. WTF are you thinking? Do you actually go to the games? SNA gets the crowd going. The MMB can't do it at a moment's notice like hitting the play button can. Personally, I miss "welcome to the jungle". I don't think we could have amped up the crowd against ND without the Rawk music. I love it and I expect to hear it every time I am in the stadium. I love the MMB, but they do have their limitations. |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | Congrats. I thought I wanted |
Congrats. I thought I wanted a boy, but 16 years ago my wife had a girl. I took her to the b-ball games to watch the fab 5. She convinced me to get club seats and is always there for football and hockey games. She will make someone a great wife. She can't cook anything more than Mac and cheese but can tell you a lot about football and hockey. |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | Maybe if ND hangs 40+ points |
Maybe if ND hangs 40+ points on MSU we can watch Dantonio's head assplode. Whoops, I meant explode. |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | I look at it from three |
I look at it from three perspectives. First is recruiting.the second is all-time wins. The third is Lou Holtz. We seem to be winning the recruiting battle with MSU, but ND still gets 5* athletes on a regular basis. I think Hoke will be in on 5* guys on a regular basis in another year or two. Sparty will always be Sparty and will lose at the worst possible times. Plus, I want them ranked when we play them. |
| 1 year 36 weeks ago | That's I how I would love to |
That's I how I would love to see all our rivalry games. We owned the Big House. From where I was there were very few ND fans. I've been going to games since undergrad in the late 70's and this is one of the best I've ever been to. I hope we looked and sounded good on TV so recruits across the country can start getting excited. Did TV show any of Desmond's speech. It was really good. |
| 1 year 36 weeks ago | Holtz is a joke |
The sooner ESPN realizes what a tool he is the better for everyone. Maybe he's just getting senile. |
| 1 year 37 weeks ago | I think the idea sounds good, |
I think the idea sounds good, but in reality, the people who are going to tailgate are just going to get there early, set up and not have to worry about where they are going to park. This will appeal to someone who has less time and more money and just wants to show up to what they believe will be a primo spot, grab a beer and head to the game. Takes away from all the pre-game ritual for me. I would never use it. People must use it though, because they have a lot of areas they serve. |
| 1 year 37 weeks ago | I dont agree |
I don't know how old you are, but if you're married, you are at least in your later 20's. I would try to park in a neighborhood near stadium and industrial and go to Cubs AC to drink and watch the early games. If you tire of that, you can hit the golf course for some tailgates and it is only a short walk away. Your car is in a nearby neighborhood and an easy getaway after the game. Campus bars can be fun and if you get into town early enough you can get down to campus easily and just walk back to the golf course or Cubs. Cabs are pretty iffy on gamedays, so I wouldn't punt on it. |
| 1 year 38 weeks ago | Being a Michigan native, I |
Being a Michigan native, I will be happy to see Brady on the sidelines in his shorts. I have to say that although I really did like RR, I was annoyed to see him on the sidelines of the spring game and later season games all bundled up like he was going to Alaska. Brady has a little more meat on him and he can tolerate the weather a little better. I also used to cringe watching all the Florida recruits sitting in the stands in their hoodies when there were snow flurries. Doesn't anyone tell these guys what the projected weather forecast is for their visits? |
| 1 year 39 weeks ago | Doug |
I don't recall Doug Karsch doing all of the interviews in previous years. If he is going to continue to do the interviews I would love to see him put on a Michigan shirt instead of the generic adidas athletic shirt. I know he's a sparty but if he's working for a Michigan website, he should be wearing the colors. I also miss the vids like last year with Roh and Lewan or guys hanging out in the players lounge. |
