Sam Webb and crew used to do a Sunday morning recap show. Former players would also join in. I didn't hear it this morning. Does anyone know if this show is still being produced?
by Jamie Morris' new show. Sam was a guest. No Tom Beaver, so at least it has that going for it.
Yep, it's a 2-hour Jamie Morris show now. Sam said he wanted Sundays off to enjoy with the family. But he'll call in sometimes, like he did today. Jamie plans to have former players on too. Today it was Derrick Alexander.
I might be wrong but didn't they also change the hours a bit, which might have something to do with your question?
But yeah, it's Jamie Morris's gig as John U is also not part of it other than being the occassional guest.
I don't know any backstory, but Sam was saying on his weekday show that he was excited to have Sundays free.
Thanks for the answers. I didn't see anything in the podcast section.
Not all are fans of John U, but I enjoy him a lot. Wish he was on with Jamie the whole 2 hours.
Other than Dave Brandon, who doesn't like John U. Bacon? I've heard people question his conclusions, but never the man.
I liked him a lot more before he became PSU slappy - simply because of the amount of access they gave him while making his new book.
Kinda like the access he was given for him book "3 and out"?
Used to be a big fan, but he's love for PSU is just absurd. I don't know how many times we have to hear the story about what a great leader Mike Mauti was.
if you are reading this here are the things that make me immediately cringe and change the station...
-Calls from any of the following ..John from OC, Phil, Old Greek lady from Flint (nails on chalkboard), anything about EMU, Marcus Ray hocking his book, :30 segments about the SPCA,
Linda from Grand Blanc.
Add to the list:
Sam and/or Ira selling valentine's boquets/mother's day strawberries/easter bonnets/cadillacs/whatever else they sell in a 'personalized' manner -- these ads are annoying and seem to last WAY longer that canned ads
Ira mentioning that he is from Maryland...yeah, we know
Linda used to call in to the Stony and Wojo show as well.
That was quite some time ago now.
Ariel from detroit to. while we are at it, im tired of JJ from Lincoln Park. did you know he swam at michigan???
...is he still interested in swimming?
She's Italian FYI. But yes, I hear you.
I don't recall ever hearing a spot for the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. You're probably thinking of the promos for the Humane Society of Huron Valley; they do a variety of cross-promotional stuff during the year.
And why would you have a problem with an SPCA ad anyhow?
Epic - surprised you were able to complete the thought before Ira cut you off and claimed it to be his own point.
Personally, I like JJ and Don. I like Linda because I am impressed at how knowledgable she is about Michigan athletics and I wish my wife was like that.. . For me, its Ariel. Whenever he gets on the air I change the channel. I won't be mean, but I just can't stand to listen to him talk. He likes to hear his own voice and just mimics what the trolls are saying about us. Cut him off and keep more listeners.
I agree and do the same. Seems he can't speak a fluid sentence.
Come on, you've got to be sick of JJ. I harken back to a time when he wasn't born.
They ran the J Mo show this morning from 9 to 10 and then they had a typical Off the Field with JUB and J Mo and the crew from 10 to 11. They are phasing out Off the Field but said they would still have four or five more shows during football season.
Last year Sam's show went from 9 to 10 and Off the Field from 10 to 11. The new show will go from 9 to 11 and will have former players like Ilah17 said.
The podcasts for Maize N Blue Sundays does not usually go up until Monday morning when the Michigan Insider podcast goes up.
and with a teenager and three dogs to boot, his hands are full. He needs at least one day off.
No offense to J Mo, but I would love to see Brian and Ace do the podcast live in that time slot.
