The really funny thing is people turn a blind eye to the our running backs slaughtering garbage teams. In fact if you look close the bowling green game where he got caught from behind. Nobody had any big runs at least aside from denard. So could he be the real deal absolutley he could be the real deal. I think cox or shaw will be the feature guy and smith or the guy we have olny seen run twice will be the third down guy. Smith has very little breakaway speed so hell why not let fitz get a shot.

Wes brown he is a top tier back. He is highly rated and has kinda gotten some rave reviews this past summer at the camps he has been at i think we sit well for dunn but do not for a second think he will be the olny top guy on our radar.

And lets top it off by saying what he said about floyd and kelly could not be farther from the truth. I think it seconds the notion that Hoke is really sending a message to play at michigan is a privilege and should be treated like that. devin funchess stats rival those of burbridge. I know he is being recruited as a tight end but i think he will end up splittin out wide. He is very talented and is a jump ball kind of a reciever we are going to need in the coming years. Secondly our instate linebackers are going to be studs. I think out of our instate guys these three are going to be our best. Wuh wait i take that back ben braden throw him near the top he is way under the radar.
If danny obrien comes calling i think we open the door for him. I dont question that at all but he has slow played us which leads me to believe we may be out of the picture.
If you make it on this list you are pretty darn good. I think this kid could probably put on 25 pounds easily. With that kind of gain i think we are looking at one hell of a tackle. I wont put him in the long category but i do believe he could possibly be our best oline recruit. I am sure that could be countered pretty easily with kalis and braden but god they all have bright futures i hate even trying to say one will be better than the other.
I have never disliked rich rod but he was a horrible at picking the starting tailbacks. He wanted vincent smith to be like steve slaton or noel devine. Guess what it hasnt worked out very well. The guy does not have homerun speed. Period he has been caught from behind several times. And that is without knee braces lol. Of the stuff on touch the banner on cox. I could not agree more i think more of the problem why cox has not started is that rich rod did not recruit him. Second point i think sure there may have been problems in the past with the playbook but i really find it hard to believe seeing what i have saw from cox that he has not seen the field more. I am of the opinion that we can not keep trying to jam square pegs in round holes it wont work. I have watched michigan football religously since 1988 and seen alot of great to good running backs. I have to say i think cox fits the mold of the michigan back of old. I think what we saw in the spring from him is just the tip of the iceberg of what he is capable of. The dude flat ran over brandon herron for a 60 yard touchdown. He will start, thomas rawls will not start nor will he see more than 50 carries the whole year.

He is a freshman and unproven i would love to see him break out but what are the chances. Was i the olny one that saw cox break a few pretty nice runs in the spring? And he had the extra speed to take it all the way on the one run. I think it was like 62 yards!!?

were are in on a pretty talented group of WRS. My hope is that we land this kid he is big and that is the kind of reciever of old for michigan. In fact if i had my choice right now it would be Amara, Darius Powe i cant copy and paste cause i am on my phone but i read something on espn about the standouts at the GKS and according to tom luginbill Powe killed it. He said something to the fact of Powe being a physical reciever but also having more than enough ability to blow by just about any defensive back. Amara at 6'2 and Darius at 6'3 would be some great outside recievers. Than you add the slot guys we already are loaded on. Thanks tom for your post i was really anxious to here how this visit went.
we need at least two WRS in this class with the talent that is out there like someone else said you cant just ignore any position for concerns of depth. Carr frequently played 5 WRS in a game manningham breaston avant mathews savoy i could go on and on. Yes stacking the Dline is important but we have got to be able to punch people in the mouth on offense and not just count on winning all of our games on defense.
About our commitment. The kid looks good looks to have some talent. The best part about him is he looks and sounds like a hard worker and plays to the whistle which is very important very important. I think it adds more scholarships to a class that is building nicely. I mean this haul of a class could be so huge i know it is not going to make a huge difference in 2012, 2013 2014 look out we are going to have a solid team. Especially solid defense. RR had such bad luck in his recruiting it is unbelievable how many of his guys did not pan out in some sort of way. The biggest one of them all demar dorsey that dude was a balla. I just think there could be a possibility as much work as that kid morris is puttin in he could jump to bein the starter although i hope they give him a year. We need to grab two recievers in my opinion. If anybody remembers Hennes first year, having some talented recievers made things easier for him. Now if we flash forward to shane morris it would be nice to have a stable of guys that can stretch the field right away. Burbridge is definetly one of them. The kid is fast, decent sized, and he can really go up and get the ball. I think if we add madaris to that we are in buisness.
the drop off from van bergen is not that significant. We have ends on the roster right now that i believe given the time of this season will produce more than RVB ever did. And i am sorry the loss of woolfolk in my mind by that time will be more of a blessing than anything. I think people forget we recruited a guy named blake countess who i expect to be a very good corner better than woolfolk. And by 2012 without even putting any of the haul of linebackers we got for the class of 2012 on the field our backers will be better. Poole, ryan, gordon, lets not forget about kellen jones he will have a year in the system. Our defense in 2012 will be a top 30 defense and our offense should be really good. I am not saying the schedule is not tough but i think we will have an excellent team. A football team that feed the rock with rawls and cox and a defense that can flat stop people. And 2013 there is no telling how good we could be. This year may have some bumps in the road but it will be an 8 win season. GO BLUE
We will double improve this year on D. I say that because i think our past defenses are grossly underdevoloped. I think matty will be able to work out the kinks that the other coaches failed to pay attention to. I look for big will campbell cam gordon and josh furman to play big roles one way or another. And i look for mike cox to emerge as our back and to rush for over a 1000 yards and 10 tdz. You can call me crazy but we got worry about nebraska ohio and notre dame past that we could really end up with 9 wins. I am just jacked about our new coaching staff. I am very excited to see that Royce is not taking visits it will be fun to watch the #1 player in michigan knock heads off in a few years.
If Moorhead state gets a hockey program going they are smack dab in the center of one of the richest areas for hockey talent. They are in northwestcentral minnesota if that makes any sense. I can tell you this because i live in fargo northdakota which is like ypsilanti to ann arbor they are right next to each other on the border of minnesota and north dakota. Fargo has a junior hockey team in town not to mention the talent in minnesota. I know people probably think they will be a pushover and they may be for a while but count on in 10 years them having a solid hockey team. That is one thing i definetly miss about living in Redford michigan every friday night i could make a drive to farmington hills or brother rice or walled lake western or westland these programs are decent high school football programs. Were as FargoMoorhead the talent here for football is really reallyy low the most talented football player they have had is a kid named Tyler Roehl Who i dont know if anybody ever caught the game of NDSU playing Minnesota Well Roel rushed for like 270 yards of something he is a fullback in the nfl now with Seatlle. I will second what you said it is time to get back to the 90s and early 2000s and start pickin the cherries out of ohio. Lets not forget ohio is one of the best states for crops of talent for high school football year in and year out. Some of our best players in the history of wolverine football have came from ohio. Howard, Manningham, Woodson just to name a few and that is defenetly not in any order.
But all that is next to those kids is a number so many of them are toss ups. I can say watching highlight tape on our commits there has not been one i am not impressed with. I say that cause i can remember watchin Tony Posadas highlight tape last year and wonderin really?? With that said it is very possible we round this class out with 3 in the top ten and 10 in the top 25.
I love to see that we are beatin the tar out of TSIO in recruiting in there own backyard. It really is lovely. I think it funny how they think it is a one year deal like we are going to be successful this year in recruiting in ohio and thats it. Really that is funny we happen to have Greg Mattison on our squad who many have said is the flat out best recruiter in the country period. Now you add hoke and funk and borges you can forget about it. Recruiting is about momentum and we got the momentum now. I could see whats going on in ohio go on for a long long time. I agree he is an awesome unbiased writer and imo there are very few of them in college football period. Craig James is a whiny little baby. I read the meat market book it is the best sports book i have ever read. I got interested in it around the time i started gettin interested in recruiting. It is very very informational and gritty and honest.

It will allow defensive backs to make mistakes for gods sakes, linebackers to blitz, free up Van Bergen and Roh on the edge to do some really silly things. And not to mention it will quiet the hype that Will is a bust. I do not think he is a bust i think as it was stated earlier he was not coached nor devoloped properly. I also think there has been way to much focus on the offense when Rich Rod was here. Now my off topic pick of who i think for sure the breakout player will be that is non other than Mike Cox he is a good running back. He showed that in the spring. Our last two commits are the biggest yet. 1. Taking a cheateye commit. 2. Landing the best safety in ohio. To me wilsons commitment is the biggest one yet because for the simple fact he is a purebred safety. In the film i have seen he is one of the best ball hawking safetys in the country. He is the kind of guy that you can stack the box and feel comfortable with him roaming out in the deep end. With that said i still do not think i have screamed as loud as i did when i logged on sunday afternoon to see that Kyle had commited.
What these top ohio kids are seeing is something great taking shape. Its kinda when you watch a plant grow and you say to yourself that is going to be beautiful. Well these kids are saying the same thing. I have to say the way that kyle has handled this situation contrary to the cheateye belief is he handled his situation excellently. We are so happy to have ya kyle. I have to say watching michigan football the last few years was trying times. I am excited as a diehard fan to see this team the next five or so years.
