My impression is that Utah attacked Bolden successfully. They would run directly at him or throw behind him when he was late getting back in zone coverage. He wasn't horrible, but he didn't play like a captain.
Otherwise, I thought the D looked pretty solid.
Two of the more humble and down to earth players I had the privilege to know in South Quad. I am thrilled that they have the opportunity to be honored in this way.
The 5:45 posted by the MV8+ would have won last year's IRA championship race. Granted, they are raced in different conditions, etc.
The point is that this team already competes at the level of the top varsity teams, without the funding they receive. They are a bunch of kids who pay their own way, rowing out of a shed on 3000m of Huron river. What they are able to achieve year in and year out is remarkable.
1x, 2x, and 4x are sculling events (two oars for each rower.)
2- is a pair, 2 rowers, each with a sweep oar.
4+ and 8+ are sweep boats with a coxswain.
I don't know the specifics for ACRA, but usually you have to qualify at a regional or league regatta to enter a boat in the championship regatta. The first day or two consist of heats with the qualified entries to cull the field. There is also a repechage, where boats that do not initially qualify can fight their way into the finals.
The final day has semifinals and finals races.
11 boats on the last day is really impressive.
Hoke's responses to the Gibbons questions were unimpressive. I wish he would have said something generic about the disciplinary process so that he would not appear to be uninformed, or hiding something. His responses will only lead to more paranoid speculation.
Otherwise, good presser. I am excited about the class.

I try to look at it from the players' perspective. From the moment they start getting recruited, they are sold on the tradition and history of Michigan. They are inspired to play hard to honor current and former Michigan men. So to be given a legends jersey must be considered a tremendous symbol of trust and respect. I am certain the players have the opportunity to decline. (Who can say it hasn't happened already?) But why would you in the Michigan team environment?
That said, I like the idea of using highly valued numbers as a recruiting tool, especially numbers like 1, 2, and 16 that have not yet been bestowed "Legends" satus.
Wtka used to have a bunch of local amateurs on in the afternoon, the Beatniks. They were horrible. They would blather on about nothing, spewing RichRod hate. Facts were usually wrong or in the wrong context. I found myself screaming at the radio on a regular basis. They were bad. But they talked about Michigan. And they loved Michigan. Since they were replaced by the Huge show, I stopped listening.
Ira is better than the old afternoon show. And he is far better than the rest of the crap on national sports talk radio.
Super slo-mo is excellent. I occasionally have trouble tracking a specific player through the picture pages. This made it easy. I would love to see super slo-mo as a regular feature.
I wonder why neither Butt nor Funchess peeled off to take out the LB. it looked like Fitzgerald would have been off to the races.
Thanks.
John Jumbo Elliott graduated in 1987 or 1988. Matt Elliott, another fine lineman for M, graduated in 91 or 92. Runyan played in 95. Something is out of alignment.
I hope that this act of forethought and generosity is considered as payback for whatever Wolverine Devotee did to earn a trip to Bolivia. I would happily give WD all of my Mgopoints in exchange for these video gems.
AC was awesome, and Terrell and Braylon were exciting, but Desmond won the Heisman.
When you hear #16, do you think of Smith, or Navarre? NO! You think of Denard. Don't confuse matters by sticking him with #1.
I would rather the #1 be used as recruit bait.
