Now, that's more like it!
We could have at least taken them out to dinner first.
Sorry, we ate them all. And they were DE-LISH-ISS
Don't be crazy.
Happy Birthday Coach Beilein!!!!
Onward to Gauntlet Numero Dos!!
A Big 10 win is always a reason to celebrate. Nice to see our guys let the home crowd relax tonight.
Sometimes when you're on?
You're really fucking on.
Great birthday present to Coach B!
bounced back nicely, got GRIII on track, etc. This team has five guys who can put up 20+ on a given night. Poor Morford couldn't even get touches b/c all of the shots were going in before they even got to that part of the floor. Nice present for Coach B.
Calming game. Would watch again.
Set the DVR.
Do frogs have access to a DVR?
Yep, back at the pad.
... to Rib-bit Up.
Maybe you could be there and eat some frozen yogurt, which I call Frog-urt....
Ok, I'll just go back into my corner with my can of beans.
Thank you. I somehow forgot about the game until just now. Sounds like I missed a good one.
Damn, when Irvin is playing well this team is unbeatable.
I never thought I would enjoy something involving jorts that much.
they only won by 29. HALOL
Zak Irvin has such a nerdy vibe going on. Fast talking, sounds like he is talking through his nose, awkward grinning. Put a smile on my face.
He talk as nerdy as he wants in my book if he shoots like he did tonight.
Beilein gets these privileg edkids (for the most part)...but they can ball.
Typical Hoke/Beilein recruit for you.
This is Michigan.
I want to win this B1G regular season and tournament.
Work took precedence and missed the game POSBANG. open thread FTW.
Back in the win column!
Nice easy to watch game, I like it!
Well, on screen and indeed statistically that was rather dominating performance all around. More importantly, this is a nice birthday present for John Beilein and congratulations to the team on a fine win indeed. Hopefully, we get some momentum that we can take into the second round of "AHHH!" on the conference schedule. It does go to show, of course, that when this team can establish itself early and get into a rhythm, they can easily make it a long game for their opponent.
Go Blue, MGoFriends.
to have on in the background while writing a research summary. Take that, two birds!
Jorts are the key
We won by 29 while scoring 4 points in the last ten minutes. What a rout.
Largest margin of victory for the Wolverines in a Big Ten game since beating Indiana 112-64 on February 22, 1998. Also the largest margin of victory in any game of the John Beilein era. (h/t Matt Shepard)
holy crap, what went on in THAT game?
Technically, nothing happened, as it's one of the vacated games. But see this AP story for details. Says it was at the time the most points ever given up by a Bobby Knight–led Indiana team.
"If you asked our players, they couldn't give you an answer as to what happened," Knight said. "It looked like we made no effort to prepare for the game, neither the players nor the coaches."
Prepare yourself for ten minutes of awesome
Traylor was a man among boys. Thanks for posting the highlight reel of that game.
Really? We've never won a game by 30 under Beilein?
Sorry about that—I either misheard what Shephard said or he misspoke. This is what the game notes say:
The 29-point victory is Michigan's largest margin of victory in a conference win since they beat Indiana 112-64 (+48) on Feb. 22, 1998. It is the largest margin of victory in a conference win under head coach John Beilein and marks the sixth 20-plus-point win of the season at home.
Bang for beating Kenpom!
all this signing day stuff I forgot we had a BB team! Go Blue! Goodbye Big Red!
But I hope everyone really appreciates this game. It wasn't all about making a ton of 3's...we executed and GOT good looks. It wasn't a bunch of off-balance nonsense.
If we would've truly been on fire (Like Irvin was for that stretch in the 1st half) then we would've scored 85-90 points. We missed some good looks. Plenty of them. But that's not the point...the point is that we were able to execute and get shots that we wanted.
That's what I'm talkin bout
That was really fun
That first half was the antithesis of this morning... incredibly exciting and entertaining.
Could only give ten +1 sorry fellas
Nobody goes undefeated in the Big Ten. Games like Indiana happen. Michigan is right back on schedule toward being a great team in March and hopefully April.
As well as we shot and shared the ball offensively, it was the best defense Michigan has played this year. If the defense continues to improve along with the continued development of Walton and Irvin then the sky is the limit.
What a game! Nice to see they kept up the pressure well into the second half.
Happy birthday to Coach B, what a way to celebrate, with a beatdown. 41 point lead before we emptied the bench, against a team that beat OSU. Gives me a lot of optimism for the rest of the season.
I knew it to be true!
after Indiana? I think so!
At one point Michigan was up by 41 points!!!!
This is a team they beat by one point a month ago.
I believe that is called improving.
Good to see the young guys step up tonight!
If they can go 5-3 or 6-2 ( plz god!!) they should win the big ten. A win in the next 2 games should make things more manageable.
Won't get it done.
Why not 14-4 would mean MSU has to lose 3 more games its not impossible @michigan @ OsU @wisconsin and Iowa r all potential loses
Subs for all.
This is crazy!!!!!
Great way to end NSD. Also, happy birthday Coach!
Also, it was jorts night in the Maize Rage to make the nebraskans feel at-home.
Jabrill says don't take it personal-
Nice bounce back win, now we must win at least one of the next two.
Smile on Irvin's face when he hit three in a row was priceless.
Glad we put on a good show for Denard after he traveled all the way here in the cold from Florida.
Payne and Dawson are still out. Once again. This doesn't count. All basketball activity doesn't matter until they come back.
MSU is going to have to lose a shocker because their schedule is an absolute joke the rest of the way, save a trip to Ann Arbor (a must win if we want to win the conference).
- vs PSU
- vs Northwestern
- vs Nebraska
- @#10 Michigan
- vs Illinois
- vs #17 Iowa
The only one I foresee them dropping is to us at Crisler, and even then both Payne and Dawson will likely be back to it's not going to be easy for us.
Sparty drops one at Wiscy vs. a truculent Bo Ryan, at Crisler and at Ohio.
Yeah because iz ever beats bo ryan.
MOAARRR points please
i'd like to see more of the spike, max and walk-on lineup!
I see what you did here! (I hope)
I was rooting sooo hard for these guys to get a basket! Poor Max really bricked that 3-point attempt.
Two times today I'm really late for the posbang... Stupid is as stupid does. I guess you can call me Forrest now. Go Blue anyway!! What a great way to erase the bad memory
I downvoted this thread. However, I am now drunk and realize the true purpose of this thread. Everyone bang everything
what you thought the purpose of a posbang thread was while you were sober? When I clicked on the thread and saw -2 I could only assume two people fat fingered it.
Missed the game due to travel..first one all year. Does this mean I should not watch the rest of the games? Superstitions and all. I'm very late to this bang, but would appreciate something positive before I go to sleep.
The first game I missed was Indiana on Sunday because of travel. Needless to say I will be watching every game from here on out.
Probably not thread-worthy, but Minnesota and Purdue are now in their third OT.
I heard Irvin just hit another three
Plz make it stop.
Big Will was with them. And Shane Morris was sitting in front of them.
Great win, but I was also very glad to hear them say Mcgary was playing a little basketball. If he can return and play close to full strength a long run in the tourney becomes very likely.
Denard still used his Student ID to get in...and no one dare questioned him.
Bruce Springsteen's album or Bruce Dern's movie? (Either way, they're both WAY better than the state university's bball team.)
