Football has been tough for Syracuse lately, although they are improving. Basketball wise, there might not be many programs that can claim as much success in the past few years. Yes no national titles, but final fours and elite eights.
And 92-19 in the past 3 years with multiple #1 rankings. Not to mention averaging almost 11K more fans per game, and they had more fans at their midnight madness than when the Crisler Center is full.
Have to also mention their lacrosse team, which is the single elite lacrosse team historically.. 22 straight final fours and and 11 national titles on 18 tries.
Jake Ryan had already used his redshirt freshman year, so while a 6th year is possible it is doubtful. Butt is a different scenario entirely, and I think a red shirt is definitely warranted consideration here
Buckeye fans freaking out about this but Non chalant about losing Hyde and 4 senior OL.
Thy still have Bosa Bennett Washington an Spence comes back after game 2. This was a depth player albeit a good one.
Seriously though... leader now means absolutely dick. What happens if MSU tanks this year/we go 11-1 or he goes south and meets the bag men. Its fucking April
I don't think you can sit there and tell me there's a strong likelihood that MSU will beat UM this year. First and foremost, they lost the heart and soul of that defense as well as the guys calling the checks etc. A lot of what they do on defense was based on the fact that they could blitz at will because they could put the best CB in the country on whoever and get 5+ seconds of hip pocket coverage.
Secondly, I think people underestimate the impact of the departure of Bullough, Allen and Lewis. Those dudes started what seemed like every single game from their freshman year on, and regardless of what talent comes in behind them the seniors calling the DL checks etc won't be the same. I seem to recall reading somewhere that Bullough was given leeway by Narduzzi to call his own checks etc.
Finally, they also replace 3 OL starters. Yes their guys are more expereincd but hey. I wil wait for a game first
I don't think there is a single program in the big 6 conferences that doesn't have people to grease the wheels. The only thing that is probably different is the amounts involved.
I think its possibly more of Lindsay realizing that life after football is more than likely not in the NFL, and getting an advanced degree is important. Using athletic talent ot get yourself in the door at a place with the graduate pedigree of Michigan is an enormous advantage.
No matter what anyone says, Saban would be making an extremely bold choice not to extend an offensive lineman with starting experience when having to replace a few starters. Doubt that is the case.
I don't think people have realistic expectations of ACL recovery.
Jake Ryan is an absolute freakish anomaly.
3-6 weeks before you start to walk and do light aerobics.
3-6 months: Jogging and sports simulation.
6 months plus: Return to Play Decision
Now. The biggest issue people have with surgery is that for about 5 months, your body learns that your knee is not stable. You ahve to build significant muscle tone around the joint to compensate for this. This leaves the patient with a mental understanding that their knee is no longer solid, and they implicitly avoid doing things that might require having to go through surgery again on it.
Mentally trusting your body to do something it failed at is extremely difficult. 8-12 months before you can truly expect to have a solid knee with athleticism that might return to normal
Don't know if he will even be the most physical corner in his class.
Peppers: 6'1 205.
For me, I'd rather have countess and taylor play the wide, and then press peppers in the slot.
Obviously this will assume Thomas and Wilson can hold it down on the back end. We are really really light on depth at both safeties
I honestly don't understand why we don't go with Shallman at a offset H back instead of a TEZ at this point.. he is too damn athletic to not get on the field. Matchup nightmare.
Think it's worth pointing out that Walton is playing well.
Ennis is playing out of his age, with some ridiculous stats (4.2 Assist to Turnover Ratio, 40% from 3, around 3/gm).
Think he benefits where Michigan has a bit of a gap in the lineup, which is the matchup tweener 3/4 guy who is just an assist sponge. At the 3/4 Cuse has CJ Fair (All ACC contender) and Jerami Grant (potential first rounder this year). Morgan is not as athletic as these two, and lacks the outside game to pull the defender and open drive lanes.
I think the biggest issue here is that I never get the sense from Borges that he takes any responsibilty for our issues. He never once has come out and said "I picked shitty plays I need to reassess the abilities of our team", and has come across as arrogant. This makes people hate him. And when you are 4 games deep in a tail-spin, that doesn't make anyone want to see a rinse and re-use gameplan get curb stomped in the backfield.
Biggest issue growing up is predicting your own farts... Some rules...
1. After a long night and a few cups of coffee never trust one.
2. If farting in an elevator make sure you are alone or with more than 1 other person.
3. It's possible to fart for longer than 15 seconds... Plan accordingly.
4. Crop dusting is acceptable
I thought you were spot on. Hoke as well as coach B seem to value their longstanding staffs, just want to hope tht Hoke has the same pragmatism coach B had in reassessing his progression.
"The power game wasn't that good, but you can't just get away from it"
The fuck you can't. Thats exactly what a coordinator is supposed to do; stop doing the stupid shit that doesn't work especially when something else is.
And putting a mass murderer on their cover and adding to his image rather than focusing on the innocent lives tragically altered by his sadistic fantasy.

Ala Kazaam!
You are missing the clock.
You can foul with 25 seconds left, even if he makes both you get last shot.

Think we can take Georgia. Regardless, IF we beat Georgia it's a feather in the cap of this steaming pile of overflowing mediocrity of a season
