Education and software/tech are probably the biggest industries around here so Boston would be a good choice for employment prospects. The big software/tech areas would be Kendall Square and the Rt. 128 belt. Teaching jobs are everywhere. I wouldn't buy a place until you both have landed jobs and get an idea of what your commutes will be like.
The housing stock is extremely old and expensive for what you get. That's the biggest drawback to living here. I'm a lifelong New Englander and I love my home but find it hard to justify paying these prices. You're coming from NYC though so it will actually be a little cheaper. Boston is not NYC as I'm sure you are aware since you've spent time here and your wife is fromNewton. It's much less cosmopolitan which can be both good and bad.

Poor guy fell asleep behind the wheel and drove into a pond because he's been practicing so hard and giving back to the community. This is a good lesson for athletes everywhere not to let their professional and charitable commitments become so numerous that it drives them to the point of exhaustion. Denard almost killed himself for us.

Awesome! You guys are gonna love the monster seats. I was at the game yesterday too and saw a few Michigan hats. You weren't in the center field bleachers by any chance were you?

I love drinking and I love college sports but I don't think putting them together is such a good idea. I always thought one of the only admirable things the NCAA did was to leave that money on the table. It's one of the last remaining differences between college sports and the pros.

You ever notice how they always open the beers before they give them to you at sporting events? It's to make them less effective as projectiles.

I wanted them to make the jump and thought it would be successful but it hasn't worked out. They should drop down. They just don't have the full support of the school, fans, or the state.

I think the Pats were 14 point underdogs in that game. Brady and Belichick and the Pats' dynasty maybe never gets started without Ty Law taking that pick to the house.

I'm really struggling with this one. That's about the worst way to lose a game that I can possibly imagine. Just absolutely brutal. This is gonna stay with me for a long time.

The Boston Globe wrote about Maurice back in 2012. It's a sad situation with his father but he really seems like a great kid who has everything in perspective.

We legalized medical marijuana in Mass like 4 years ago and are still waiting for the first dispensary to open but I bet they'll have Draft Kings closed by Week 3. Typical Puritanical bull crap from this state.

Vince has only missed 18 games in a 12 year career that has included 21 playoff appearences. Most of them were from 2 years ago when he tore his achilles. He came back last year and played all 16 games plus won the Super Bowl. I get why people are concerned about his age but he's gonna be fine. He's still doing things like this:

I think BC should be higher on that list in reality. I've lived around Boston for my entire life and have only known 2 non-alum BC fans. It's the combination of a lack of interest in college sports in the area and the fact that people really find BC to be arrogant and annoying.
Maybe if they were successful it would be different but they're not. They caught lightning in a bottle with Doug Flutie in the 80's and haven't done anything since. They fired their most successful recent football coach for daring to interview with the NFL and fired their most successful basketball coach of all time for no apparant reason. They are just the worst.
EDIT: I should also mention that if you do care about college sports in this area you were likely a Big East hoops fan and hold a grudge against BC for single-handidly starting its demise to go play schools below the Mason Dixon line. Did I mention I don't like BC?

I'm a big Providence College hoops fan. I'm very excited about this series and thrilled that it honors the memory of the legendary Dave Gavitt, former PC coach and founder of the Big East.
I love the new incarnation of the Big East. I don't miss any of the schools that have defected. The Friars have a much better chance to compete in a conference with smaller, like-minded, basketball-centric schools. It's a throwback to what the conference was originally supposed to be about.
I think the series will be beneficial for both conferences but probably more so for the Big East. Out of conference schedules and performance are huge for a 10 team league. Hopefully in the years to come Michigan will make a trip out to Providence to play on Dave Gavitt Court. I would definitely be in attendence.
