| 2 days 3 hours ago | You're welcome . . . . |
When they sent out the annual survey to hockey season ticket holders, I took the opportunity to rant about last season's schedule, and especially the front-loading of all home games in Oct/Nov and virtually none in Jan/Feb. Apparently that did the trick (although the home schedule in Jan/Feb is still a bit light for my tastes). Next year I'll turn my powers for good toward the B1G hockey tournament format. |
| 4 days 3 hours ago | Doesn't moderating an opinion as "trolling" . . . |
also count as an opinion? And am I "penalizing" you by disagreeing with you? |
| 4 days 3 hours ago | Jeff Backus, for one . . . |
Although I'm struggling to think of any others, so "plenty" might have been an overstatement. |
| 1 week 46 min ago | I didn't get it . . . |
So they all were really dead throughout the entire final season? |
| 1 week 5 hours ago | Yes, that would be nice . . . |
but instead, you can count on DB to break out the condescension toward his paying customers when explaining a bad decision:
The poor guy -- maybe someone can get him the number for the B1G conference office so he can leave a message with Delany's secretary. Then some office assistant can get back to him and let him know how the conference arrived at Michigan's 2014 home schedule. If only the Michigan athletic director had some power or pull over conference football decisions. |
| 1 week 23 hours ago | Was this your backup plan . . . |
after sticking your fingers in your ears and saying, "LALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU"? You know we're talking 2014, right? |
| 1 week 1 day ago | Not to worry . . . |
The Pop Evil halftime show will bring in the fans, as will the mascot arriving in a jet pack. Never underestimate the "WOW" that DB has up his sleeve. |
| 1 week 1 day ago | And . . . |
they get orange slices during the breaks. |
| 1 week 1 day ago | Yeah, but . . . |
we're talking about Iowa. No schedule will seem "easy" when they're through with it. |
| 1 week 2 days ago | No offense to your random hunches . . . |
but I prefer to rely on the science of numerology. CW's birthday is 10/7/1976. Add that up and you get 31. Peppers is announcing on 5/26, and 5 + 26 = 31. Coincidence? I think not. |
| 1 week 2 days ago | Yeah, well, he's no Mike Cox . . . |
but give the kid a chance, Magnus. |
| 3 weeks 1 day ago | That's what I would have thought . . . |
but the graph sure doesn't reflect that -- he's sub-par both in openers and after byes. Maybe because his "par" starts out higher than most? |
| 3 weeks 1 day ago | I knew it! |
These graphs conclusively prove that Rich Rodriguez is a better coach than Lloyd Carr or Brady Hoke. Don't let wins and losses deceive you -- this is math, people! |
| 3 weeks 1 day ago | The WOW factor is gone . . . |
Anyone want my season tickets? |
| 3 weeks 1 day ago | Thus . . . |
Brian's argument is invalid, and we may all disregard it. |
| 3 weeks 3 days ago | Hope you guys are up for this . . . |
because we're now committed to repeating this schtick throughout the entire 2014 recruiting season. Trust me, this never gets old! |
| 3 weeks 3 days ago | Can't have one without the other . . . |
Ace's method of ranking the schools is arbitrary and makes no sense. /the other guy |
| 3 weeks 3 days ago | Little-known addendum to this story . . . |
After this incident, Lincoln campaign buttons sold like hotcakes in Ohio, turning the tide in the North/South rivalry. |
| 3 weeks 4 days ago | Good for you! |
Glad to see someone has the courage to publicly admit he's a lawyer. You are an inspiration to the rest of us who remain in the shadows. |
| 4 weeks 3 hours ago | Awww, c'mon! |
Everyone (including the OP, eventually) knew the score, and many of the comments were hilarious. Are you trying to get us to go back to work on a Friday afternoon? |
| 4 weeks 3 hours ago | Oh . . . . |
so NOW you tell us! |
| 4 weeks 3 hours ago | Does the OP have plans for next Christmas? |
I'm afraid my kids just won't let go of the Santa thing unless someone can persuasively explain to them that he's not real, and I think I've found the guy who can do it. |
| 4 weeks 1 day ago | If I were on Twitter . . . |
and I planned to watch the NFL draft (as opposed to the Red Wings game), this would be my response as well. The draft can hardly be considered a "live action" sporting event, such that a report a few seconds before the official announcement qualifies as a "spoiler." |
| 5 weeks 37 min ago | Maybe someone can call out to the Twitterverse . . . |
for pictures of Rovell's career imploding. |
| 5 weeks 1 day ago | Don't take this the wrong way, but . . . |
you're too old. As a spring chicken '82 grad, I can run rings around your "hat in the ring." And I've got two Michigan degrees -- top that, MF'r! |
| 5 weeks 1 day ago | Dammit . . . |
I'm at work and won't have time to get home and change into my lucky M basketball shirt. (Of course, I wore it the night of the NC game, so . . . ) But at least we've got Dan Hasty on our side -- I feel better already . . . . |
| 5 weeks 2 days ago | I regret . . . |
that I have but one pos to give to this comment (and it had already been moderated to 5 before I got to it). Hey, look at me, I can tell you what a college kid is going to say during his moment in the sun before he says it! |
| 5 weeks 2 days ago | Amen to this |
The amount of time spent by officials this past season uselessly staring at monitors was at an all-time high. And as you say, about 99.9% percent of the time, nothing came of it. Maybe review end of half/game buzzer-beaters, but that's it. When you're missing dozens of calls a game anyway, how is video review (even if used properly, which it isn't) going to make a meaningful difference? |
| 5 weeks 3 days ago | Not just that . . . |
Sub season just ended, and it was crazy. Also, the Michigan "spring" has not been conducive to getting out and exercising. |
| 6 weeks 1 day ago | No questions |
Just tell him how much you admire him for handling the burden of being a tragic hero. |
