"Denard skipping Minicamp to walk at graduation" would be more accurate. Denard will graduate regardless of whether he attends the ceremony. Twitter CEO and U-M alumnus Richard (Dick) Costolo will deliver the Spring Commencement address. Perhaps Denard wants to get in on the Twitter IPO action with his newly acquired $$$$$$$$. |

I think you've proven my point that you're being more disrespectful to Griner than Cuban is. |
| 7 weeks 2 days ago | My mancrush on Mark Cuban |
My mancrush on Mark Cuban aside, I disagree that this is disrespectful on Mark's side. On the other hand, I think you're being disrespectful to Griner in that you think she's completely naive and/or stupid to even want to do this. While I do agree that she does not have a realistic shot, it is her choice to try out, and Mark is simply given her the opportunity to make that choice. History has shown that having men make decisions for women is not always (or ever?) a good idea. |
| 14 weeks 1 day ago | OSU lost at Illinois by 19 |
OSU lost at Illinois by 19 points. Duke lost at NC State by 8 then at Miami by 27. Bad games happen. This team took a night off. In all other games where they had a slow start, they fought back. "But they're supposed to be getting better!" Well, other teams get better too. The competition isn't static. |
| 14 weeks 2 days ago | What's the big deal? |
3 of the 4 losses were on the road against top-15 teams. The other came against Wisconsin on the road who 1) needed a prayer half court shot to win, 2) beat Indiana in Bloomington, and 3) are ridiculously good at protecting home court. Indiana and MSU will come to A2 soon. As long as Mich holds serve, then it's not that much of an underachievement. I'm okay with going 3-3 against OSU, IU, and MSU. Too bad Wisconsin doesn't make a return trip. |

| 44 weeks 1 day ago | Taking the unpopular position |
I understand that some coaches may not want to spend their recruiting resources on the one and done types, and that's fine. But if I'm a coach and a one and done type wants to come play for me with the intent of leaving after one year, why would I deny him the opportunity? It may even be immoral for me to deny him for the reason of "I don't want to make you a better person/player since it's not worth my time if you're just here for one year". Isn't one year of college better than no college at all? Why put a 2-year minimum rule in place which probably has more chance of driving him away than bringing him in for 2 years (my baseless projection of probability)? I'm of the opinion that 1/4 of college is better than no college at all. And letting a guy leave whenever he wants to leave opens up an opportunity for someone else. If you force him to stay for another year, that's 1 year of scholarship that could have gone to someone else who wants to be there so much more. |

If PSU's athletic dept doesn't get the football revenues, it will likely be forced to drop all the non-revenue sports. Or the support would have to come from somewhere else. Don't think this was your intention. |

Would be very surprised if Purdue's AD would spend money on Varsity hockey. And I don't think Mitch Daniels is a hockey fan (no politics here). As a side note, looked at Purdue's club team and the due is $2000 per player. Not too bad for almost 30 games.
With about 18 scholarships for a hockey team, what women sports did Penn State add to comply with Title XI?

If I remember from my skooling, antitrust law's primary objective is to protect the interest of consumers. Often this also results in smaller competitors being protected, but that's at most a secondary objective, if not just a byproduct. Not clear who the consumers would be in this case. If it's student athletes of smaller schools, I don't see them being harmed. Sure they may miss out on a free Disneyworld vacation, but that's not the point. Hopefully an MGoLawyer will provide some clarity. |

I understand how antitrust works in the business world (eg. Microsoft, AT&T buying T-Mobile) but am very naive on how antitrust applies to "non-profit" college sports. Could someone please help clarify? Seriously ignorant, indywolverine |

"West Virginia's freshman running back Steve Slaton was named the game's MVP, having rushed for a Sugar Bowl-record 204 yards and 3 touchdowns" Are you going to argue that Georgia won the SEC without a good defense?

Six #1 votes for a team that lost to Ole Miss when there's an undefeated team in the same conference? Have we not learned to ignore style points after what the 2002 OSU team did to Miami in the title game? Please wait until after the SEC conference title game to move Florida ahead of Alabama. |
