One and done...

One and done is good enough for the College HOF for me, and I work a few blocks from the damn thing. It costs the city of South Bend approx. 1.5 million dollars of tax payer money to support 67,000 visitors a year. Good thing that Notre Dame team is a huge tourist draw.

Always love these posts.

Keep it up coach. I always love these posts.

Here is local buzzz...

WSBT channel 22 post game reporter..

"Notre Dame went from the Gator Bowl to deplore-a-bowl"

WNDU channel 16 post game..

"Notre Dame is now.....What is their record??....5-6?"
"Exact same record as Bob Davies and Tyrone Willingham"

Charlie Weis on post game interview radio show (I was in car at time)
Reporter: "How do you feel the team progressed, or not, since the bye week."
Charlie: blah blah blah, coach speak, speculative question, "I am going to have to pass on that question."

Different reporter no more than five questions later: (Didn't hear question as daughter was getting in car)
Charlie: "You know me, I don't pass on tough questions...."

I nearly did a spit take.

Why do I have to be the guy

Why do I have to be the guy that cannot stop staring into the sun?

I clicked the link to his blog. Sometimes the internet wins, and I die a little inside.

My reply on his blog did not get approved..

"... that you're sort of faking your way through it."

Ahhhh...That explains it.

Maybe they want to know

Maybe they want to know what he thinks about hiring Mike DeBord?

ChitownblueJust a question,

Chitownblue

Just a question, but do you have to bitch about something in almost every thread? Nothing personal, just asking.

WOOPS..ISQD Fail!!

WOOPS..ISQD Fail!!

Yeah, lets stop talking

Yeah, lets stop talking about anybody on our schedule unless we play them that week. Lets not talk about MSU since we aren't playing them this week. Lets not talk about Ohio State since that is months away. I agree, only idiots talk about other teams but Wisconsin.

+1 for the posting police.

Some people like to bitch at

Some people like to bitch at whatever is posted. Makes them all warm and fuzzy inside.

Waiting for now. I wish

Waiting for now. I wish Firefox was better, some sites still are a crap shoot, so thank goodness for the IE tab.

The zone read can be a pass

The zone read can be a pass and not just an option run. You can run a waggle out of it, and use it like a play action pass. Depends on how the QB reads the playside DE and defense pre-snap. The problems seemed to be execution which is entirely expected due to the nature of the offense's inexperience and youth. The sky is not falling, the players will get better. I seem to remember Coach Rod giving words of caution all spring and fall.

I watch them all. The

I watch them all. The postgame interviews actually are more telling from the players than anything they say pregame. Sure, every other response is "I have to watch the film". They recognise things with different clairty after the fact. How they respond speaks to their leadership and passion. I wasn't knocking any of those traits.

I appologise. My bad.

I'll

I appologise. My bad.

I'll admit my post may be a little bit of bad timing due to all the
other sky is falling posts. I could have constructed the post it a
little better. I wasn't insulting the kid personally, never did, never will.

This post is in no way to get attention for myself. I could care less, I am not an ego hound. I have been listening to many post game interviews for many years. Yes, I understand underclassmen typically are more nevous, ect. He had done so well over the past, spring game ect. that it was suprising. I will admit, I was amused by the quirks. Some people think a pie in the face is funny, others don't (bad analogy of the year candidate here I bet). The tone was not meant to be "OMG what an idiot!!". I just was pointing out he needed a little work. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Jumping on people for their opinions and name calling is more bush league. Lets all just take a breath here. No hard feelings fellas? Lets cheer those kids on and give them all the support they need.

P.S. Ninja

Sorry for my reply if it was over the top as well.

Soapbox:I do feel that
that type of post should strongly be discouraged. It doesn't belong here. A post like
that should give someone a "timeout".Banning for disagreements is weak sauce and I wasn't saying it because of that. Personal attacks and venom like that yes. I doubt anyone would have tolerated that from me. That being said, I accept your appology, please accept mine. I am good here, hopefully we can drop the whole thing.

Sorry for being the presumed bad guy here. Was not my intention.

Man, talk about an attention

Man, talk about an attention whore.... Get over yourself. This type of response from you should result in a ban. Personal attacks and profanity have no place here, if it does, then that is a shame. Don't be such a dick. What is wrong with saying he needs to work on his interview skills? I think you are reading way too much into it. I did not "attack" him in any way.

What is it with some of you guys?

Well said..

What you said is true. What I did gather from RR's body language is that he was as suprised as we were. He knows what he has now. I would imagine the next two defenses will copy Utah's gameplan. He knows this as well. Now he needs to find a way to work around it. Coach the kids up and go through game film. Remind the kids that first downs move the chains and trying to hit the home run every play means you swing and miss alot.

You cannot simulate game

You cannot simulate game speed during practice. Utah gameplanned Michigan well. Play up close, sell out on the run and short routes. Make the young QB's beat you with their arm. Was suprised the running game was not very good. Granted, the run was all but abandoned in the second half due to being down 2 scores. First impressions I had with the defense was that Utah was attacking our outside linebackers, the weakness link IMHO. I don't think it was a lack of blitzing in the first half (I thought I saw a few). I also think in the second half, the defensive changes were to just rush the front four more and blitz less. I'll have to wait on the UFR to confirm this, no tivo here.

I also think Threet, despite not having better numbers, did really well. He came in and tried to cary the team to victory. Played like a RS freshman, but seemed to have a greater "presence" about him. I don't remember how the OL handled inside pressure, but it seemed like it should have been attacked more with the backs. I don't know, maybe load up the beer truck or something.

Like I said, I hated to bang

Like I said, I hated to bang on him about that. Of all the interviews, he just stuck out as being less polished. I attribute it to adrenaline high. He normaly composes himself much better.

Texas won. Texas won.
Another interesting note, the Another interesting note, the replacement for "Michigan Replay" that will be called "Inside Michigan Football" -meh>, will be on Thrusdays for those with Fox Sports Detroit, TBA on Big Ten Network.
Oh, and BTW... Oh, and BTW... Fall practice starts Aug. 4th. Media day is Aug 17th, no official fan day mentioned yet.
I cannot believe this thread

I cannot believe this thread went in the direction it did. It is not a question of IF it happened, that is what the legal system is for. The problem is that it's an obvious obstruction of the legal process. They convinced the alleged victim to let untrained criminal investigators handle a criminal complaint with the expectation of justice. The only thing the University could do is file a report with the local law enforcement agencies. The university may have its own police force, but it does not appear they were involved if so.

The details of the events are frightening. Regardless of it being actual or fabricated. I doubt anyone would let their daughter's High School faculty handle an investigation like this, and they are just as qualified as university officials. By qualified, I mean the opposite of course. Nothing stated by the univeristy sounds like anything but a cover up.

The caliber of those men's

The caliber of those men's swimmers was especially high, lemme tell ya...

Rim shot!!!

Yeah, we all know caliber is a measurement of a cylindrical object, but did you have to "go there" really? Then there is the question about "shrinkage".

Yeah, I went there.

You usually can buy tickets You usually can buy tickets from scalpers for a game like Miami of Ohio for less than face value. Plenty of tickets to go around usually. I bought M of O tickets before for around $15 at about 10 minutes to kickoff. I have seen over a dozen games in Ann Arbor and never had tickets pre-purchased. Never paid over $75 a ticket, even for a Notre Dame game. Heck, one year when Michigan played Rice, I paid $10 for two tickets. These smaller non-conf. schools were ideal for me to take my young son to games cheaply.
Brian, you forgot to mention Brian, you forgot to mention "The Victors" ripped off the "Spirit of Liberty" march.
Two other points Two other points also. 1)Depending on how the University of Iowa handles this, and no criminal charges come of this, they are probably setting themselves up for a hefty civil lawsuit. 2)Iowa's womens' athletics may be the biggest loser if trust is not restored in the athletic department. What D1 bound female athletes (and their parents) would consider Iowa with this hanging over their head?
I don't care if the events I don't care if the events that took place were actually as minor as he "looked at her funny". The university officials are there to protect the rights of all members of the student body, accuser AND alleged perpetrator. Not following written university policy and getting law enforcement officials involved is 100% the wrong thing to do no matter the allegations. Trying to cover something up always is more damning than letting the legal system take its course.

Less than one mile from the Less than one mile from the stateline. Close enough for you?
It is curious...

I am hearing rumors that with Walls it may be grades, but I don't know if there is any credit behind it or gossip. The rumors are not from within but people that heard it from someone that heard it from someone.

With Weis and Tenuta both well known for being blunt, quick tempered, and knowing their way around the f-bomb, maybe it is a lack of family values?

I don't have a membership to any of the premium sites so all I know is public knowledge and gossip.

I went to my first few games I went to my first few games in the student section, so maybe that conditioned me. I feel there is a difference between jumping up and cheering a big play vs standing during the play. Nothing is going on from tackle to placing the ball. As I said in my write-up. We jumped up and cheered a big play. Most everyone else viewed it with indifference. Oh hum... 1st down...yawn. The players deserved better than they were getting from the home crowd.
My take. I have the perspective of someone that works in South Bend, has MSU grads as friends, and I am a Michigan fan through and through. In South Bend, I would say Notre Dame "hard core" fans would rank Michigan as their #2 rivalry behind USC. I hear more Michigan flak and grief from the casual fans, and they may think UM/ND is ND's biggest rivalry. It might be due to you seeing more Michigan gear and bumper stickers, ect. around here than any other school besides ND. Being so close to the state of Michigan and border spillover for work/recreation feeds this more. People living in Texas, Oregon, ect. probably wouldn't give it much thought. IMHO Michigan is ND's #2 rivalry. I hold ND as Michigan's #2, but this is mostly due to the MSU fans I know don't give a rat's behind about football (go figure). I wouldn't rank ND/Michigan as #2 all time though.
Confused??? You rip-off the NBA and then claim others are copying your rip-off?? Is that possible?
