Notre Dame is down 2 players.

I kind of am doing a series of diaries about Notre Dame called Behind Enemy Lines.

The latest buzz is they are now down two players, one Michigan recruited, Darrin Walls.

I'll probably do a diary entry on this if I get a chance.

Well considering ND's secondary was supposed to be the strength of their defense this year, this is a big blow. Hopefully our passing game will be coming along good enough so that we can attack their secondary to keep them off balance with our stable of RBs.

to me, anyway, is that so many people made such a huge deal out of a few kids leaving the program when an entirely new (save for Fred Jackson) came on board, bigger (it seems to me, as a biased Michigan partisan) than all the defections in years 2 and 3 of the Weis "era" at Notre Dame. Kids leaving is to be expected with a brand new staff, system, style, etc. But we're talking kids leaving school well into Weis' tenure. That, to me, raises far more red flags. I wonder what Weis and company are telling kids about that. Goblue49120, perhaps this is something you'd like to run with for you diary.

I agree.  I was actually just reading the ESPN ND preview, and concerning the part about the QB situation, I can't figure out why more haven't transfered out.  It seems Weis is commited to Clausen starting, even if he struggles or sucks.  If you are not the 2nd string QB I see no reason to stick around and sit on a bench.

I am hearing rumors that with Walls it may be grades, but I don't know if there is any credit behind it or gossip. The rumors are not from within but people that heard it from someone that heard it from someone.

With Weis and Tenuta both well known for being blunt, quick tempered, and knowing their way around the f-bomb, maybe it is a lack of family values?

I don't have a membership to any of the premium sites so all I know is public knowledge and gossip.
