How to get UM-MU tickets

Submitted by will on

Apparently it is next to impossible to get UM-MU tickets through the Miami box office even for alumni.

Does the UM box office make single game tickets available to the public?

Whats my best bet for getting tickets to the game, and how much should I expect to pay? Is scalping a reasonable possiblity?

Are there decent accomodations in AA? I used to go to games all the time, but would just drive back to Toledo and stay with my grandparents.

Are there post game MGoBlog happy hour parties?

You usually can buy tickets from scalpers for a game like Miami of Ohio for less than face value. Plenty of tickets to go around usually. I bought M of O tickets before for around $15 at about 10 minutes to kickoff. I have seen over a dozen games in Ann Arbor and never had tickets pre-purchased. Never paid over $75 a ticket, even for a Notre Dame game. Heck, one year when Michigan played Rice, I paid $10 for two tickets. These smaller non-conf. schools were ideal for me to take my young son to games cheaply.

GoBlue49120's take is pretty spot on.  I did have to pay face for the Miami game when it was the first game of the season (Henne's first start), but typically you can get tickets outside stadium for below face.  Miami actually travels pretty well, so that may make it a little more difficult than against Northern Illinois or Bowling Green.  You will get a good sense of what the market is like about 30 minutes before the game.  If there are still a lot of sellers you can wait em out and get in for bargain basement.

Will, I'm went to school at both Miami and UofM, so that'll be a big weekend for me. Our own esteemed Keegan is visiting that weekend for his first trip to the Big House to make for a double whammy. I'm sure we could be persuaded to have a few beverages after the game, and probably several before as well. Keep in touch and I'll let you know the scoop. We'll also be looking for peole to tailgate with- the more the merrier. (This invitation is open to all, as long as they promise not to suck at life).

Ninja - When did you go to each? I grew up a UM fan (which was a pain, living in Columbus.. although Cooper made it much more enjoyable) but when the recruiter from Michigan came they offered me 20k a year.. In ohio tuition is 35k+/year so when Miami offered me a full ride, my dreams of going to UM died.. I graduated from MU in 02..
