ND players arrested at party.

Submitted by sca1zi on

I was on TSN(I know, I know), and came across a story of 2 ND players, Yeatman and Golic arrested at a house party.

No big deal, who hasn't gone to a party and drank underage? One game suspension and run laps for days.

HOWEVA,

Yeatman was charged with DUI(for driving on the sidewalk), and reckless in Jan '08, and had the charges dropped, under the provision that he steered clear of the law for a year. Well, the preliminary charges are consumption of alcohol by a minor, false informing and resisting arrest.

Domers are flocking to his defense. Pretty pathetic.

c'mon man, this happens everywhere. and we definitely can't say anything. remember what kevin grady did only about 2 months ago? or what about Adrian Arrington just a few years ago? this happens all the time, everywhere. last week a player for wisconsin got a DUI on his moped. well, that is just absurd but regardless this shouldn't have caught anyone by surprise. other than the fact that 1 of the guys was Mike Golic's son.

Who seriously cares about this? It's not like it's an indictment of their program since kids everywhere drink themselves into oblivion. Looks like he was on probation and that sucks for him, but that's about it.

If Grady got caught for an alcohol related offense again, then it would be like him.

I drank underage, I can't point fingers for that. But, I didn't get  a DUI for driving on the sidewalk, get off because I was a football player, and then step on my crank 8 months later resisting arrest, and WITH ALCOHOL AGAIN.

These are the kinds of conversations I hate way more than any other. Our felons aren't as bad as your felons? Seriously? Who gives a fuck?

I mean cool, Charlie insisted they don't have thugs or whatever on their team. It wouldn't be the first time he was wrong.

Then why did you read the thread title, click to follow it, read through the thread and post (twice)?

As far as who gives a F*&%?  I do.  In my opinion, there's a big difference between making a mistake, we all have, and being a repeat offender.  Resisting arrest after committing the same crime less than a year later qualifies the ND player as a repeat offender on a team that prides itself in not having any "thugs".

As for the comparison to Grady, I'm tired of people, our own local parasitic media included, taking shots at UofM every time a kid makes a mistake.  And that's what Grady did, he made A mistake.

OK, my point is why do people around here get so worked up about it? It essentially amounts to this one kid sucking pretty hard and Charlie being wrong about criminals on his team. Differentiating that completely between a single repeat offender and the multitude of issues we've had, all in relation to some obscure "we're better than that" point, is ridiculous.

So, it's fine for everyone to make fat jokes and call MSU little brother, but when a story surfaces about players from a rival team fucking up, then it's trivial?

This guy got off his first offense(DUI) because he was a TE at ND, then stepped on his chicken bag again, for another alcohol related offense.

I don't know why people care? Maybe because it's college football ?
