Any ranking that has a 6-5 team that is 2-5 in conference in the top 20 is fucking insane. There has to be a limit to "good losses" otherwise these ranking are completely out of whack. Maybe one good loss shouldn't hurt you but five shouldn't help you.

Who exactly are the quality teams MSU beat in conference? I'm struggling to find more than one and that's assuming you consider Auburn a good team.
|2 days 19 hours ago||Perceived is the key word.||
Perceived is the key word. Miss St has beaten exactly one top 25 team, that being a 3 loss auburn team that is at the bottom of the rankings. Ole Miss probably won't be ranked at the end of the season if MSU wins either. Assuming they all win out, OSU, TCU and Baylor will all have better wins compared to MSU and its not even close for the most part. OSU surprisingly probably has the best wins but also the worst loss by a mile. It reeks of historical AP/Coaches Poll where MSU Is still number 4 because teams don't get passed over

Yet scored ony one TD. The play calling in the red zone was ridiculously bad. Our D acted like a no huddle offense was some crazy new unstoppable invention. and just generally can't get out of our own way. A very Hokian game.

I know you are a charter (and probably only) member in the Hoke fan club but what makes you think he would ever do better? In four years we don't have a signature win. We have gotten appreciably worse every year. We are so bad, being called inept would be a compliment. We treat a no huddle offense like its some crazy innovation that no one has ever seen before. We can't score, can't catch, can't defend.
Don't give me some bullshit on youth. We have a senior QB who has started for 2 1/2 yrs. Whats going to happen next year? Another excuse that he needs another year to have a returning starting QB? We have six losses and have only played 2, maybe 3, good teams. THe best team we beat is a 6 loss NW team.
Pretty much the only thing in the "pro" column is he seems like a nice guy.

fuck that. If he cared that much about Michigan, he should've resigned after the Minnesota game. He is completely out of his element and overwhelmed and is burying this program. Each week he is here is worse for Michigan

I just don't get this line of thinking. Who is going to magically appear next year that isn't around now? It's going to be a regurgitation of the same names. After hoke and richrod no way they'd go for an up and coming coordinator or a one year MAC wonder

That would give him one or possibly two (depending on who we beat in the bowl game) good wins in four years. If that is deemed successful, then we are in a lot of trouble.

Isnt the rule that two positive tests are permanent banishment?
He tested positive and was suspended. Made up some (now clearly evident) bullshit story that he was drugged, so got his suspension reduced. Tested positive a second time, thereby showing that his first "story" was a bald faced lie, and, as required by the rules, was ruled permanently ineligible. How could they ever justify reinstating him in less than a year, especially being he lied the first time? The B1G would look awful, especially if they did it during the season. This isn't some draconian punishment ala McGary for one positive test for pot while not even playing. Even though molly or ecstacy isn't the hardest drug, its not like pot where states and the pro-leagues are decriminalizing it.

I think it was more an extremely pathetic move than a dick move. How low do you have to be to ask, before the game, for your team to carry you off the field if you win (while in a demoted role), against the team that fired you because you sucked as a head coach?

How many times are you gonna keep peddling the same shit? Using one statistic to try to prove Borges was awesome. Our offense sucked last year and just because we threw for 500 yds against Indiana doesn't change that. We were 7-6 and had only 3 wins in the big ten. For the third straight year we couldn't move the ball on MSU. Had negative rushing yd against MSU and A terrible Nebraska team. Couldn't move the ball against UCONN or Akron. So cut with the shit that Borges was this amazing coordinator just because Of one stat.

PSL = one time fee and in most cases sellable, so if there is enough demand, you can potentially sell your license to someone else and come out even or ahead.
PSD = no recurring benefit. You get bent over and violated every year.

Agreed 100%. Three years of not beating/upsetting any teams that you weren't supposed to win and losing more than a few that you should've won was the stacking of the logs, the ND and Utah games this season were the kindling and then the Minnesota game came and that the lighter fluid and blowtorch.
It was clear from the 2nd or 3rd series of the Minny game that Morris was grossly ill-prepared and simply not ready to lead the offense in any stretch of the imagination. That he kept being trotted out there with little if any chance to succes made it appear like Hoke was doing it out of spite. What point he was trying to prove escapes me but I have to question his judgment for (1) putting Morris out there in the first place; (2) keeping hm in the game in the 2nd half; (3) letting him get the shit kicked out of him on numerous occasions yet not removing him; (4) not having a fucking clue that Morris was dazed and concussed and (5) being completely inept afterwards when trying to explain what happened. Lost in the shitty handling of the concussion is how he could've ever thought that Morris was ready, why he kept going back to him when he was ineffective and later gimpy in the 3rd quarter pre-probable mild concussion.

By declaring the SEC is the best and then citing them beating each other up as evidence is circular logic at its best/worst.
Aabama played one slightly above average team in WV (a team that has lost 3 add'l times since that game including to a bad Texas team).
Auburn had the best OOC win vs. K. State but then lost to an average Texas A&M and an average Georgia team (who themselves have 2 horrible losses).
Miss State played no one. Even their wins have been eh. If you looked at their resumes and blanked out the names, you'd be hard pressed to have them 4th.
|1 week 21 hours ago||So a win over Virginia Tech||
So a win over Virginia Tech is better than a win over Ohio State because Virigina Tech beat OSU? Nice SEC logic.
|1 week 21 hours ago||Sagarin's numbers look odd.||
Sagarin's numbers look odd. How is Miss State's SOS that high? They have played nobody besides Bama that has lived up to hype. Auburn isn't great. LSU and Texas A&M were overrated to begin with and shouldn't be ranked (think A&M still is).
Miss State's best wins are against a 3 loss Auburn team and 4 loss LSU and Texas A&M teams. Plus brutally bad OOC schedule.
TCU's best wins are against 2 loss K. State, 3 loss Oklahoma and 3 loss Minny (OOC) and a 4 loss WVU team. They at least played Minny OOC.
Losses are comparable. I'd give the slight nod to TCU based on their current resume.
OSU's best wins are against 2 loss MSU, 3 loss Minny and um, thats it. They have the worst loss of the bunch.

Urban Meyer didn't seem to need five years to field a competitive team. He had to replace a heisman trophy candidate QB right before the season started with a redshirt freshman and has four new players on the OL and lost his bell cow RB yet It hasn't seem to impacted OSUs offense. Yet here we are, four years in and you are trying to convince us that we need to give hoke more time to "get and develop" his players.
|1 week 1 day ago||Keeping Hoke would set us||
Keeping Hoke would set us back even longer. He has been given four years which is plenty of time and an infinite amount of resources and didn't do dick with it. We have gotten appreciably worse this year and weren't competitive in half our games. In four years, we haven't been a better team than us and lost to teams worse than us. No upsets. Just met expectations and beat the teams we were supposed to beat and lost to the teams we were supposed to lose to (and some we weren't). Another year or two of the same mediocre results would erode whatever support he has left and would make it that much harder to come back from. There has been zero evidence of being able to "turn it around"
He was given everything possible to succeed and failed. No coach is going to be scared of that, especially at Hoke's salary. Its another BS excuse to give a "Michigan" man another year when he barely deserves to finish out this year based on his performance so far. They see a big program, with tons of support and tons of resources and great facilities. No potential coach is going to be scared because Hoke was fired after shitting the bed for 2 straight years.
