“He was on the other side of the court, screaming: ‘Good shot, Kev!’” Durant said, shaking his head in delight. “I’m thinking, this guy’s an All-American type of teammate right there.”

I'm late to comment, but I would be more concerned if John Harbaugh - given that UM has a HC currently under contract - said "Sure. I'm interested in coaching Michigan's football team."
It's not a professional comment to make, regardless of your profession.

IIRC, he seemed like a smallish perimeter guy. I can't think of a typical Izzo player ( eg, banger or a dribble-driver with a decent stroke) fitting this profile. Mo Peterson, maybe??

While we're feeding trolls, anyone want to cue up the late hit against Gardner this year against ND? I would have liked someone, anyone to retaliate like Lewan did against MSU. At least it would have showed we had a pulse.

What about Hoke not wearing a headset?
If not, we have some work to do.

The Miami game was pretty typical during the Lloyd Era. With less scoring. And equally less Funchess.

There's always a tendency to hold up your own era as a golden age. So during the FF run, younger fans felt like any Fab 5 or Jalen narrative was taking something away from the current team.
Having lived through the F5, I can say - and this was confirmed in the doc - that many older fans recoiled at the baggy shorts, trash talk and attitude that made the guys so compelling.

Belichick gets criticised by the press and bloggers for uninformative and elusive pressers. And he's been kicking ass since 2001.
I hate to say it, but Brian's near-constant complaining about Hoke's apparent non-disclosure policy w/r/t injuries is getting tiresome.

Dantonio not running up the score in order to impress the playoff committee is kind of like removing yourself from consideration for a job you didn't have a chance of landing.
And why not run up the score? Too classy? This is a program that has no problem telling its defense to grab WR's until it's called, bitch when it is, and play "60 minutes of necessary roughness."

Reading the statute that I posted down thread might help understand the process better than I've already explained it. Or you could continue to feel outraged that public employees aren't dropping what they're doing in order to satisfy cynical journalists and bloggers.

The public entity (in MI) is required to provide a calculus for the cost before collecting the information. Each school has different methods to compile and report information - and if the information isn't readily available it will take longer to collect and report. If it is a simple request, the cost should be lower.
See my post w/r/t to the MI statute downthread. In NC (where I currently work) public entities are not required to create records simply for the purpose of satisfying the FOIA request. However, governments in NC (compared to MI) are more likely to provide FOIA responses without charging the applicant.
CBS apparently submitted a nebulous request and this was reflected by estimated cost. Since their request was an unnecessary farce, they never paid or challenged it.
|2 weeks 18 hours ago||As I mentioned in a post||
As I mentioned in a post upthread, this wasn't a legitimate request for information. CBS was merely testing the FOIA policies of public schools. For the purpose of criticising FOIA policies at public schools.
FOIA differs a little in each state. Apparently, other states indulge bitter journalists more than MI or NC.
The University of Michigan, as a public entity, has a statutory right to recover the costs of generating responses to information requests: (http://legislature.mi.gov/doc.aspx?mcl-15-234)
3) In calculating the cost of labor incurred in duplication and mailing and the cost of examination, review, separation, and deletion under subsection (1), a public body may not charge more than the hourly wage of the lowest paid public body employee capable of retrieving the information necessary to comply with a request under this act. Fees shall be uniform and not dependent upon the identity of the requesting person. A public body shall utilize the most economical means available for making copies of public records. A fee shall not be charged for the cost of search, examination, review, and the deletion and separation of exempt from nonexempt information as provided in section 14 unless failure to charge a fee would result in unreasonably high costs to the public body because of the nature of the request in the particular instance, and the public body specifically identifies the nature of these unreasonably high costs. A public body shall establish and publish procedures and guidelines to implement this subsection.
|2 weeks 19 hours ago||Totally disagree:||
In my work as a Town Manager, I have received numerous FOIA requests from news outlets and journalism departments regarding ostensibly simple requests that have no purpose except to test our FOIA policy.
And that is EXACTLY the purpose of the cbs report referenced in your post.

|2 weeks 21 hours ago||FOIA requests - particularly||
FOIA requests - particularly ones from lawyerly-types - tend to be overly broad and expansive. I doubt CBS was simply asking for "basic graduation #'s".
More likely, the request was worded something to the effect of "all data, materials, notes, communication and conversations related to the matriculation of student athletes at the University of Michigan." In which case, $410 is cheap for the amount of time someone will need to be paid so that CBS can continue the old WHAT'S WRONG WITH COLLEGE SPORTS trope.
