For a football game tho? When we went earlier this year they weren't even allowing people to hang out at the bar for a drink anymore while waiting for a reservation.
Go to Pint and Cork. It's in The Shops at Wailea. It's a great, chill spot. My wife and I got to Maui every year and stay in Wailea and we always end up at Pint and Cork once or twice. They have a solid bar and lots of TVs. The shishito peppers and Hong Kong noodles are *chef's kiss*.
...am I the only person who watched Ole Miss's d-line utterly dismantle FSU's o-line? And two members of the Ole Miss secondary go out in the first half?
I mean, I was rooting just as hard against Ole Miss as anyone else, but I'm not about to purport that their defense is a "fire tire"
There's a difference between not understanding the hype surrounding the partnership with Brand Jordan and not understanding why people camp out at midnight for gear. One can understand the former without participating in the latter.
Sucks. Seems like a guy Beilein would have offered after he jumped through all of the hoops Beilein requires. Appreciate the update because I recognize that this isn't just an update on MSU recruiting.
I agree that the interests in China are morally questionable, but one can certainly understand the business decision the NBA made years back to tap into that market.
As for the LGBT stand domestically, I guess I'm not as cynical as some people on this board are. From what I've seen, the NBA has put out a fairly consistent pro-LGBT rights message over the past year or so. They're one of the only leagues that I've seen that openly celebrates LGBT pride month, Adam Silver and other NBA executives were the first professional sports league representatives to ever march in NYC's Pride parade, and now this.
I'm not so ignorant to believe that there isn't some opportunism behind this decision, especially considering the momentum behind the movement over the past half-decade or so, but I also think Adam Silver is NOT David Stern.
Alison's size was the first thing that I noticed about this new season, which I watch out of my periphs while watching WatchESPN becasue my gf is obsessed.
Fun fact, apparently (and according to my gf), the real-life version of Alison has some type of disorder that causes her to put on weight. Of course, she told me this and I responded, "ya, I had that disorder back in undergrad -- It's called "case race and Pancheros at 3:00am."
I mean, I complained with my buddy for the majority of the second half about our fans' lack of enthusiasm. It took Charles Woodson imploring the fans to get the fuck up to move anyone. I'm not particularly surprised, but I expected the student section to take the lead. My first game as a student was also The Horror, and I honestly believe we were louder during our 3-8 season.
Really? I feel like it has to be at The Game. Biased, of course, but this is one of the premier rivalry games in the country, two of the most fervent fan bases, and it actually means something this year.
Orrrrr he just tweeted out a cool edit. Not saying he isn't going to commit, or that this isn't foreshadowing, but I don't think this is a per se committment. *ruins all of the fun*
Makes sense. Somewhat surprised they haven't already registered - it's not much trouble, especially as a massive entity like UM. There are a lot of benefits that come with being on the Principle Register that you don't get with common law rights (e.g., nationwide exclusivity, benefits in litigation) and that you don't recognize with a copyright (e.g., independent creation).
Agree with this, especially with UA surge as of late. Obviously we all understand that it's a lofty goal, but what else is he going to say? "Ya, we're just out here shooting for 7-5 seasons and weird uniforms."
The general paranoia about posting on the MGoBoard is precisely why I frequent this site's board as opposed to Scout's (and I pay to see that board). Seriously, night and day quality.
I actually disagree. The last crew was entertaining in the same way that it's entertaining to watch a train wreck, but not because they provided any useful insight. Obviously Fowler is/was great, but May and Holtz are/were horrid. Also, anyone who has paid attention to Adnan Virk* knows he is full of personality and a great show host and facilitator. He's actually pretty funny and always has smart takes. Kannell can rub people the wrong way, but is truly a great college football analyst. He's been there at the highest level, but also is quite down to earth. Galloway on the other hand...I got nothin. He is Mark May 2.
Generally, you can't register names. However, you can if the person gives consent and you obviously meet the other requirements for a trademark (e.g., use in commerce)
Oberon! Live in NYC and stumbled upon a case at Whole Foods. Finished with my 2L finals yesterday, so now I'm ingesting as much sun as possible before I start work Monday.
What most people don't realize, mostly because there's nothing sexy to report about it, is that the NFL (i.e., the league office) has various subsidiaries that handle much of its revenue-producing business. For example, NFL Properties handles its licensing/merchandising and (I think) sponsorship matters. I'm not well-versed in corporate taxation (yet!), but I would assume that, in this example, NFL Properties would bear most of the tax burden associated with those revenue streams, while the league office revenues are relatively minimal.
I posted the definition as a starting point for convesation. As a UMich grad and considering the term colloquially, I tend to lean more toward alum = graduate, as opposed to graduate OR former student.

Ah, Chat Sports. We love to see it.

Agreed in full. I just saw him at Ashley's a few weeks ago; didn't want to interrupt him, but he seemed in good spirits!
How many of my NYC fam read this and thought it was a shoutout to a local convenience store?

Was just going to comment to that effect. I feel like we generally land near the top for the first half of the year, then trail off.

Yay. A Rosenberg exclusive.
