I respectfully disagree. I think its important that an MVP plays for a winning team. Part of being an MVP is raising the level of those who play around you. If your doing a good job of that, your team should be a contender.
Snell's ERA is not good, and based on the hits we got off of him last time, I expect some pretty good offense tonight. If Verlander shows up ready to go, this one shouldn't be too difficult to win.
There are so many issues facing college b-ball recruiting that it is kind of a monumental task to decide where to begin. Personally, I think lobbying for much stricter penalties for coaches and schools that violate rules would be a great place to start.
Glad to hear that that has kind of gone by the wayside. I think you have a better chance of drawing the defense offside with a good hard count then by the center randomly snapping the ball.
I think that we showed some good toughness during the playoffs this last season. Instead of bringing in a goon like Bertuzzi, lets just continue to rely on the emerging Helm. While he doesn't have great size, he is a hit machine and a physical presence everytime he steps on the ice while maintaining self-control and not taking useless penalties (a-la-bertuzzi).
Though I love the tigers and want them to get as many good prospects as possible, I think it would serve this kid best to spend a few years in college.
Until he improves his throwing mechanics, I'm not that worried about him. He is still primarily a one-dimensional player. If he has improved his passing skills, then I will be scared to death of what he can do to opposing defenses, primarily ours.
I agree that Obi will be much improved this season, but I am still very much looking forward to seeing what Mouton will bring to the table this season. He was very reliable last season and I expect a step up in his production this year.
With all the coverage that a big-time program like Alabama gets, you would think this would be a much more publicized issue. Does anyone know how many people they currently have on scholorship with only a week to go before their first fall practice?
Big bruiser for Wisconsin who I loved to watch run over defenders. It was really easy to root for him becasue he dominated everyone else but our defense always held him to like 50 yards a game with a 2.5 YPC average.
When I saw the elbow, the first thing I thought was here comes another ridiculous ejection (like Manny's). Unlike Manny's elbow, this one was intentional but it was a bang-bang play and Stu was holding his jersey. I probably would have taken a swing too. You can't help but feel for the kid. He worked hard all season to get to this point and then he loses his cool for a split second and its all over for him.
It seems like they will be even worse this coming year. They are losing most of their "bigtime" players from last season and will have to replace them with people who didn't see much of the field for their 5-6 season.
I don't remember his other two choices but his #1 was the Cleveland Cavaliers. He watched the way Lebron shredded the pistons last night and now he wants to play alongside of him.
I don't think I could have watched a game next season if he wasn't coming back. This makes our d-line only skeptical for next year instead of a definite failure.
