OT: Tigers Aug 19

Snell held us to 2 runs in 7 innings earlier this year, we did get 10 hits off him (on the road). Hopefully, we can shell Snell tonight! Tonight's line-up:
1. Granderson, CF
2. Polanco, 2b
3. Guillen, LF
4. Cabrera, 1b
5. Huff, DH
6. Ordonez, RF
7. Inge, 3b
8. Laird, C
9. Santiago, SS
Go Tigers!

I need me some Avila.

I don't understand how Leyland can have that guy riding the pine, when Laird can't hit a watermelon off a tee. Granted, Laird is the better defender, but how many "defensive specialists" can you have in one lineup? Sooner or later, someone has to hit the ball. Sorry Jerry, but my man Alex ought to be starting every day.

No diggity.

My brain is conditioned to begin singing Blackstreet in my head whenever I hear that phrase.
It's mildly annoying.

Snell's ERA is not good, and based on the hits we got off of him last time, I expect some pretty good offense tonight. If Verlander shows up ready to go, this one shouldn't be too difficult to win.

I don't know about anybody else but the Tigers are really getting me through a long rainy August without getting overly antsy for football. I can't believe how long they have clung to first with all their shortcomings. It will kill me if the Sox pass them.

Snell is absolutely awful.
As such, I wholly expect him to no-hit the Tigers.

Eh, this isn't his major-league debut, so our chances are probably pretty good.

I expect HRs by Inge, Guillen, Huff.

So far we have one measly hit off of Ian "Ooh That" Snell.
I guess two walks through three isn't bad, though.

He's very likely going to take the loss, but Verlander surpassed 200 strikeouts in this game - he now has 204 after a great 8 inning display.
I can't believe the Tigers have only mustered 5 hits. JV deserves better.

Man what a pathetic offensive showing. I hope they can salvage the series finale tomorrow.
