I'm sure other teams will make a run at him, but I think it still will come down to us and ND. Time for Sugar Shane to get to work. Let's hope he sees LaQuon at some camps and 7-on-7s.
I think the early signing day is in November, but he said in an interview that he would like to decide before his season begins. That could mean an announcement could come earlier.
Generally, that might be true, but this time last year they had 10, including 2 from TX. If I were a NE fan, I might be a little concerned about the total absence of TX kids so far this year. That and the fact that Michigan, most likely my primary rival in the B10 West, is knocking the cover off the ball.
Rivals and Scout now show Kalis' interest in us as "medium". I thought one or both had him at "high" -- am I getting paranoid? (sorry for jacking the thread)
Tom ... read over on a Sooner board that GK was in Tuscaloosa today, and heard a rumor just a few minutes ago from someone else that he committed to Bama. Do you know if this is true?
Dusty Kiel is a RS sophomore QB at Indiana, so that means Gunner will have to compete with his brother for the starting job for the first two years and then with others after that. How is that better than competing for the job at Michigan? At a minimum, beating out your older brother would be awkward.
Maybe OSU should hire Cicero to work in compliance. He seems to be the only person in Columbus who understands that players trading memorabilia, equipment and signatures for benefits is not permitted under NCAA rules.
Also, you shouldn't assume all RS juniors want to come back for a fifth year. Most of these guys are not going to the NFL. Once they have their degrees, some are looking forward to moving on and starting their future careers. In that sense, guessing which RS Juniors will not be returning is similar to guessing which highly-talented players will choose to leave early for the pros each year. It is not a one-way decision made by the coaching staff. I am sure Hoke will adjust his final class size (next February, BTW) appropriately based on all the relevant factors.
The NCAA also will want to interview Posey to find out the names of the other Buckeye golfers. I doubt he will be able to get away with telling the NCAA he can't remember.
Does anyone know if the players named in the SI article have already been questioned by the NCAA? If they were questioned before Ellis, they would not have known he was going to back out at the last minute and, therefore, might have told the truth.
Getting caught accepting a discounted tattoo is not nearly as bad as getting caught lying to the NCAA. Just ask Dez Bryant.
In addition to the traditional sanctions discussed above, OSU should not be allowed to award any rings, gold pants or other momentos of any kind until their probation period is completed.
It must be tough going through life worrying about whether your views meet with Bob Knight's approval. Or whether he might beat you up for thinking them.
... is a bully and a joke. Like Jim Tressel, he has become a punch line. At some point, as a live on-air analyst, he will do exactly what he did as a coach -- he will begin to believe he is somehow superior to everyone else and let loose with a totally racist or anti-gay or other similar inappropriate remark and he will be fired by ESPN. Finally, that will be the end of Bob Knight.
There's a post over on a ND website that Standifer is visiting South Bend on Thursday. Not sure if that's good or bad or even true, but thought I would pass it on.
Not trying to be a dick, but in your title "Affect" should be "Effect."
Also, the way things are trending, I think they are planning for a class larger than 22. I would not even be surprised if they signed a full 25.

The most annoying thing Toledo can do is beat OSU. If they don't do that, I don't care what they chant.
I meant the WMU game. You know what I meant. Get over yourself.
He's been missing from the roster since before the ND game. I noticed that about a week ago.
Wow, did he blow up size-wise or something or was he targeted for TE all along? I thought he was going to play WR in college.
Rumor down in Columbus is that Dunn just decommitted.
Mods, are you there?
... poor Brutus.
$4 million per year for five years.

... his car is probably in for service.
