4 days 8 hours ago That's good news

My daughter had to stay an extra week in the hospital and I about died lol....love that girl

4 days 8 hours ago Congrats

They are game changers, indeed.

9 weeks 3 days ago congrats and enjoy them

They are the most precious at the age they are now. It doesn't take more than willing arms to embrace, engulf and protect them from the world. As they start to get older you are going to be amazed at everything they say and do. My two are 8 and 6. And they are the extent of my portfolio. Love em like a beetles song. Congrats again.

15 weeks 2 days ago at the moment

He is built like Chris Perry. Oh, and a rock...but faster and more solid.

15 weeks 3 days ago not trying to defend any man's comments

But Chitown has been part of mgoblog as long as I can remember. He is no troll. Very opinionated, as you all can tell. But a good guy. Just saying. Anyway will not say anything else.

16 weeks 3 days ago Back to the future

Am glad we are where we are now. I don't want to go back. I don't want to rehash, revisit, or talk about the RR era. I wish him well. I hope he succeeds at Arizona and that  he proves every doubter of his said talents wrong. But not for one second do I regret him not being here any longer.

16 weeks 6 days ago Fred Jackson...

Coach Jackson, is that you?

18 weeks 5 days ago I agree

I would love for him to land back in Ann Arbor.  I remember this being QB university. He had something to do with that. I hope he does well and then finds his way back home.

19 weeks 5 days ago I agree.

I think that he was a scapegoat for RR. I also think that he was RR's only competent hiring. With that said, if my mother was playing against Michigan.... I would be rooting against my mother. lol

26 weeks 5 hours ago i have never been one

It has never been my nature to point the blame in any one direction. Football is a team sport. You win and lose as a team. But i am sure at some point during this game Mattison wanted to go up to Borges and just pop him one. No in all seriousness what happened with Denard and Devin being on the field at the same time? It is astounding to sit here and see how predictible the play calling was. Devin comes out. Denard goes in and you know there is going to be a run....there was nine men in the box! Nine! Why? Because michigan was going to clearly run the ball. If they would have had them noth in there at the aame time on a consistent basis they could not sell out one way or another. It also helps to have devin take most of the snaps so he can develop a rhythm. They did that defense a disservice with that playcalling. Wow that was just crazy.

26 weeks 1 day ago ohio state...

Ohio state aint no Bama. If Michigan can contain Miller with just a modicum of success then they have a better than average shot of winning this game. The only game this season they were out of was the bama game and if Denard could have hit some of those wide open receivers in that game it could have changed the tenor of that game. Maybe not the out come. But it would not have been so lopsided. Michigan realistically could be a one loss team going into this game. They definitely left two games on the table.... I dont think anyone one on this board thinks Nebraska is a better team than us and the notre dame game...well....that was just awful playing and play calling by the offense. Ohio should be a good game. Go blue!

27 weeks 6 days ago spread offenses

They have struggled all season with spread offenses. Denard would give us our best chance of success against them. Our biggest problem has been run production. If we can some how shore that up in the next week and a half we have a good chance of beating them.

1 year 18 weeks ago i have heard...

I have heard that he was thinking about transferring depending on Denard. One of my best friends is friends with his highschool coach and he told me about this over a month ago. He also said something about going down and playing with RR. I dont put too much stock into io it because my friend is a rumor mill. But he did mention this right after RR got the job.

1 year 20 weeks ago whew

they won the game. an ugly win is still a win. it feels great!

1 year 25 weeks ago it seems that he has at least

It does seem that he has at least adopted adapting his coaching style to fit his players. I think that made his transition here a little more difficult. His experience at Michigan will make him a better coach in Arizona, I think. Could be wrong, just my opinion.

1 year 25 weeks ago I really hope

I really hope that he had his got it moment. If Nebraska and Ohio are any indicators of that then this guy is going to be extremely dangerous next year. He made very good decisions today and showcased his talents. If that Denard was playing in the MSU and Iowa games, well who knows. I am excited though, especially for Mike and Van B and Wfolk and Molk. These guys were here for the worst of the decline and hopefully they were here to be part of the upswing. WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!! Good game!!!!

1 year 25 weeks ago Dude,

Too soon.

1 year 26 weeks ago I have to say

I have to say that I honestly feel endeared to this team of players more so than any other team that has donned the winged helmets. They are truly a band of brothers that has weathered the storm together. A win against Ohio State will be a great way to end this chapter of their lives. Mike Martin, Van Bergen, Koger, Molk, Woolfolk I have never rooted for any one thing so hard in my life as I have for this team of seniors. Tomorrow will be no different. Give 'em hell guys. Show them that that school up north is back. Meechigan, why would you want to go anywhere else?

1 year 26 weeks ago If I could just,

If I could just interject something here. I never saw Carter play live so I will have to defer to someone of greater wisdom on that matter. I have seen some games in replay and heard former players speak on his greatness. So that is not arguable.

So let me preference my comment by saying that the best receiver I have seen was Braylon his senior year. The guy was lights out. He made Henne look all world as a freshmen. He was clearly unguardable. Much like that tandem of David Terrell and Drew Henson. All of this is very subjective, with that said, Edwards is my favorite.

Howard was the most electric player on Michigan's squad. I remember watching them go up against Notre Dame in their last heyday and everyone was hyping up Raghib Ismail and I kept saying to myself, but we got Howard. That guy was lighting in a bottle. If he got to the second level put 6 on the board.

They are all dynamic in their own right. And truthfully, I am glad they all wore the winged helmet. Lets pray that 20 years from now we will be able to have this same argument about the receivers that come through and set up residence in the big house.

1 year 33 weeks ago would have to agree

He shines in Wisconsins offense. He makes that offense complete. And he is deadly with his legs. He has touch on his passes and makes good decisions. They will be hard to stop.

1 year 33 weeks ago Allow me to ride your cab,

I think that it was just a change in philosophy. That is all. I believe that Coach Mattison stated that there were no sleds here when he arrived. One of his first jobs was to bring back the sleds to Michigan. I sorta think that says it all.

Was that crypted enough for me not to understood, no?

1 year 35 weeks ago Maybe

Maybe someone edited the story by the time I read it, but I do believe it did say Montgomery.

1 year 35 weeks ago Maybe

Maybe someone edited the story by the time I read it, but I do believe it did say Montgomery.

1 year 35 weeks ago Step away from the ledge.

I think that your analysis may be a bit premature. The one thing I continually see from these guys is growth. Especially on defense. If we can get Denard settled down, if he just can be a bit more accurate with his passing we could be deadly. Al did a good job (today that is) of putting him in positions to win. He under threw a couple of balls and over threw a couple more. He left at least another 21points  on the board. And that is not including all the times he could have just moved the sticks if he weren't throwing to Tacopants. And I don't know if it is just me, but wasn't he making some of these passes last year. How many more years of eligibility does Tacopants have? I don't remember him over throwing so many guys. Maybe that is because he didn't throw the ball as much last year.

1 year 35 weeks ago It is a phrasing...

Kids use it all the time. It is something they say when they really like something, someone.  It is a generational lost in translation thing I think you are having.

1 year 36 weeks ago The last I checked

They were favored against us as well. Hmmmmm. Oh, but they were the better team. Three years straight, they have been the better team. We just win.

1 year 36 weeks ago I think...

I think Damefan has an account. Wow!!!... lol I don't even think the Knowledge could have predicted this one.

1 year 36 weeks ago hahaha

Right.

1 year 36 weeks ago But how much of Gerg's coaching

How much of Gerg's coaching had to do with RR. It is probably an unfair assesment to say that he is as bad as it seems. RR was unrelenting in his philosophy. We know this to be true by how he implemented his offense. We also know this to be true by how that 3-3-5 kept rearing its head even though we were told that the defensive scheme was going to be a 4-3

New regime. New philosophy. Time to turn the page. Gerg is no more.

1 year 36 weeks ago These are college kids.

A lot of these kids have played for three different defensive coordinators. Three different defensive schemes and two of those schemes  were some wacky hybrid 3-3-5. This was the second game in a new scheme. They are going to look out of place at times. The DL's are undersized (save Big Will and Black and Martin) This is an entirely different philosophy these boys are running now. With that being said, I think the blown coverage had a lot to do with the entire team having Floyd on the brain. I think they all were expecting Floyd to get that ball in the slot.

I think that is how they gashed us for some big runs too. Martin was dropping back into coverage expecting them to throw and they actually ran the ball straight up the gut.

ND was guilty of the same thing. Denard had burned them so bad that they overloaded the box, playing with 8 men inside of it all night long. That is how Gallon got so wide open on that wheel route. Denard had broken the containment and if you listened closely you could hear the whole state of Indiana shift to their left, Charlie Weis gasp in between destroying his hoagie with extra cheese and every football player on the field yell OH SH*& at the image of him having all that room to run and one of the DB's back there forgot about their assignment and Gallon caught the ball.
